GOSHEN – After serving 25 years as an Orange County Family Court judge, Carol Klein is retiring at the end of the month. Under state law, she is required to step down at age 70.

Klein was first appointed by Governor George Pataki in 2000.

During her career as a family court judge, she viewed her role in a holistic fashion.

“If I could save one child or one family it’s a success, and I hope that my years on the town bench and family court bench I made a positive impact for these children and families. I love my family and I truly and deeply care not only about the family, but how to help them,” she told Mid-Hudson News.

Judge Klein served as a Chester town justice prior to ascending to the county family court.
