Anthony Guillen

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 31-year-old Poughkeepsie man has been indicted on two counts of attempted murder and several other felonies after he allegedly fired 12 shots into a populated area near the Casablanca Market at 386 Main Street around 10:30 p.m. on July 18th, striking a bystander in the leg.  Anthony Guillen was arraigned in Dutchess County Court on Friday, November 28, 2025, on the two counts of attempted murder, two felony counts of assault, and two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Dutchess County Court Judge Jessica Segal accepted Guillen’s plea of not guilty and remanded him to the Dutchess County Jail on $750,000 cash bail, $1.5 million bond, or $3 million partially-secured bond.

The bullet wound caused a serious injury to the victim, according to the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.

District Attorney Parisi said, “Every resident of Dutchess County deserves to work, worship, attend school, and enjoy our parks and public spaces without fear of gun violence. My office remains firmly committed to thoroughly investigating every incident of gun violence and vigorously prosecuting those who threaten our community’s safety. I want to thank our partners in the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and its Neighborhood Recovery Unit, whose dedicated efforts have been instrumental in reducing shootings along the Main Street Corridor.”
