MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Gan Jing World (GJW), an independent, family-safe video streaming and content sharing platform, today announced that New York State Assemblyman Karl A. Brabenec, Assistant Minority Leader, has issued an official Assembly citation honoring the #BeKindBeCool movement and its role in strengthening communities.

The citation describes kindness as “a timeless value that strengthens our communities, inspires positive change, and brings people together across cultural and geographic boundaries,” and credits Gan Jing World — “an Orange County–based organization” — with “an outstanding commitment to promoting kindness” through #BeKindBeCool.

The Assemblyman noted that the movement “has inspired more than 34,000 acts of kindness from participants in over 200 countries and regions,” fostering “a culture of empathy, respect, and service,” and that schools, families, community organizations, and content creators worldwide have embraced the initiative to combat bullying and encourage positive engagement online and within their communities.

Recognizing that the 2025-26 #BeKindBeCool Video Awards will be celebrated at a special event in Times Square on July 30, Assemblyman Brabenec wrote that he “proudly recognize[s] and commend[s] Gan Jing World Corp and its #BeKindBeCool initiative for their continued dedication to promoting kindness, compassion, and civic responsibility.”

A Call to New Yorkers

Brabenec's citation goes a step beyond recognition, urging participation: he “encourage[s] all New Yorkers to embrace these values as we work together to build stronger, more caring communities.”

With his citation, Assemblyman Brabenec adds the New York State Assembly to a growing roster of officials recognizing #BeKindBeCool — including New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, and Vermont Governor Phil Scott, who proclaimed a statewide “#BeKindBeCool Day” — part of a broader movement among public officials to turn shared concern about online harm into constructive, community-driven action.
