Those vegan guys.
Hey, hello my loves. It's another Ocado unpacking vlog.
Some of you might be wondering, why do you keep uploading these, Poe?
Well, you never know when someone's going to see one for the first time and be considering doing their first vegan shop.
So that's why I do these.
Some of you have also been asking, only a few of you, when we're going to start doing proper shopping vlogs again.
We kind of had a bit of a cut off with them because we did a series, which is the best UK supermarket for the record.
Tesco won that.
And we also did a series, which is the best supermarket was five supermarkets competing against each other.
And then we did another playlist with seven supermarkets.
Your first vegan shop at.
And we kind of covered pretty much everything.
However, don't forget what time of year it is.
September.
Yeah, end of September. We're about to go into October.
The Christmas festive shopping vlogs will begin at some point, that's guaranteed.
And we've also been doing a lot of kind of different ones like Rogers, for example, Rogers Wholesale and the company shop, you know.
So it's not like we've moved away from shopping vlogs.
It's just that our shopping has become a little bit different.
But we will be doing full and detailed ones for the festive period.
Now, let us start unpacking this little lot.
Shall we?
Are you ready?
Are you ready to begin?
So in this one, let's just...
I got another pot of nooch.
Just because I like to be really stocked up with it.
If you don't know what nooch is, this is nooch.
Nutritional yeast.
It looks a bit like fish food.
Tastes nutty, cheesy, really umami.
Beautiful on top of pasta.
Used often as an ingredient in vegan recipes.
And, as it clearly says on the front there, full of vitamin D and super B12.
Not just normal B12, mind.
Super.
Well worth buying.
If you've never bought any before.
The K-Deli Italian Style Focaccia are absolutely gorgeous.
And they're only £1 odd.
Clearly marked vegan.
What we've started to...
We used to have...
There's four in a pack.
We used to have two each with a Greek style meal.
What I tend to do these days is...
We have a, let's call it a Mediterranean style meal.
And we have one each.
And then on the other one, do you know what I do like a dirty, dirty boy?
Shall I tell you?
I make a fish finger butty.
Six fish fingers, fishless fingers, fit perfectly along there.
With a tartar sauce and maybe some chips or a bit of salad.
Big fat fishless finger butty.
Gorgeous.
Our regular weekend breakfast is St-Pierre croissants.
We have them every weekend.
Clearly marked vegan.
And we have them with blueberries.
So I just thought I'd stock up.
They're only £1 as well.
One down, five to go.
I've got a couple more of these.
This is the Clear Spring Organic Tofu.
Silken tofu.
Because it's a really good base for a sauce.
I did Spicy Creamy Lemon Butter Beans with one pack of this.
And it was gorgeous.
You can make beautiful creamy sauces either with silken tofu
or with soaked cashews and a bit of plant milk.
So there you go, I've got two of them.
And they're cupboard staple which is fantastic.
I don't like to talk about this that much but it's a part of life and it's a part of our life.
I do buy standard cat food because I've tried our cat Isis on vegan food.
And during the period, and it was just biscuits at the time.
During that period she killed and brought as a gift three birds.
Which she'd never done before and she hasn't done since.
So, duh-duh, done.
These were two for £6.
And I needed some ketchup.
And I thought, even though I prefer the Hellmann's mayonnaise,
I just thought, well, it's only £3 because you're getting two for £6.
So, yeah, ketchup and vegan mayo.
And that is another bag emptied.
Now, these are so good, I've bought two boxes this time.
Sue me.
Start a fight about me.
Want a barney?
They are absolutely gorgeous.
Eight in a box.
I think it's like two boxes for £3.75 at the moment or £4.70, I can't remember.
But they're a bargain.
There's eight in a box.
They are beautiful.
Creamy vanilla and beautiful chocolate ice cream inside what's like a soft cookie wafer.
Beautiful.
Such a lovely little treat.
You know, at the end of a meal or whatever.
So good.
Breakfast muffins for when we have a brinner.
We have these, yeah, we have these lightly toasted with a brinner and it's gorgeous.
Every time I'm filming in the car door vlog.
Oh, it's alright, no.
Windy Clean has just put his bucket at end of drive.
Means he's coming here soon.
And he'll be looking at me while I'm doing this.
Two more of these, Thai green curry paste.
They are fantastic.
I usually use the, this isn't chicken pieces, courgette, all bits.
One of these and a tin of coconut milk.
Fabulous Thai green curry.
Served with a bit of rice and some crackers.
Cannot beat it.
Bought two.
Okay, this is the freezer.
Oh, so I think we've had these before.
In fact, I'm pretty sure we've had these before.
But I can't remember where from and I can't remember when.
However, we recently had the Moving Mountains no chicken nuggets.
I think there's some in this shop actually.
And the not chicken was really firm and flavourful.
And I do sometimes, when I fancy a burger, I just really want a chicken style one.
So I got them to try.
I got two, if you watch our meals vlogs, these appeared on this week's.
They are really, really good.
You get seven in a pack.
So we actually had two packs for dinner with salad and rice.
Just really good.
Superfood, plant-based crispy dippers.
Really firm, as if they're a kind of chicken alternative.
But they're not.
They're super veg-based.
Just let me do a trial.
You do know Windy...
Hiya, love.
You do know Windy...
Oh, okay.
She doesn't want to listen to me.
So I'll piss her.
Love them.
Linda McCartney Lincolnshire style sausages.
Perfect with a brinner.
Great in a stovetop sausage casserole.
PDF recipe is available for individual download on the PDF recipes page of our website.
Links below in the first comment.
I'll talk a little bit more about our website at the end.
Yeah, love these. Just really love them.
So, some of them.
Fishless Fingers for the aforementioned Fishless Finger Butty.
Honestly, it's beautiful.
And these are really good.
Really, really good.
Said I've got some more of these.
The Moving Mountains Gnaw Chicken Nuggets.
Really good.
I personally prefer a batter when it comes to nugs.
But the breadcrumbs on these are nice and tasty.
There's some crisp to them and the actual chicken alternative is beautiful.
And a couple of bags of edamame.
Which is pretty much our favourite side.
We love it.
Right, that's another one down.
I've got another...
I've cooked this a couple of times.
The tempeh.
I've cut it up into little pieces.
Not like too small.
Fried it up with some Spanish style flavours.
Like garlic, small paprika.
And served it like we've had it once with the Spanish style rice.
You know the rice you can just get in a packet and microwave.
Really nice.
You've just got to learn.
It's a bit like tofu tempeh.
Once you learn how to flavour it and cook it.
It's a fantastic source of protein.
Beautiful beetroot and horseradish hummus.
Makes an absolutely fantastic part of a Mediterranean style meal.
Just really good.
Really flavoursome.
I've said since we started buying this it could do with a bit more horseradish.
But we're spice freaks.
So anything with a kick.
Like horseradish, wasabi, mustard.
I invariably want more.
Tender stem broccoli.
Just love the stuff.
Love it.
Just steamed until a knife easily goes through the stalk part.
At the side of a meal.
Just beautiful.
Love it.
Big bag of carrots.
I made a beautiful carrot, coriander and cashew soup last week.
And it's one I will definitely be coming back to.
Because it was delicious.
Really creamy and delightful.
So they'll not go to waste.
Another.
This is chickpea hummus.
As in that's the brand.
And this one is truffle.
Gorgeous.
Absolutely.
If you like truffle.
If you like the taste of truffle.
This one is beautiful.
It's £2 odd.
But it's so good.
So, so good.
So, oh they're both chickpea.
As in the brand.
Nice.
And then we've got this isn't chicken pieces.
That I will use to make my Thai green curry.
And we've got this isn't chicken thighs.
Which we have with.
We make a kind of Japanese style chicken rice meal.
Rice in the middle.
Two chicken thighs cooked well in the air fryer.
Sliced thinly on top.
Spring onions down one side with some edamame.
Sliced tomato down the other side.
And a little pot of broth.
Which is basically chicken style stock cube.
Couple of chillies.
Bit of spring onion.
Beautiful.
Okay.
Only one more bag.
One more bag.
Give me just one more bag.
Courgettes.
For the aforementioned Thai green curry.
And perhaps other stuff.
I just love courgettes.
I think they're a really versatile.
Low flavour vegetable.
Which means that they kind of lend themselves well.
To things with a high flavour profile.
Such as Thai green curry.
Great big bag of baby spinach.
Love this stuff.
Used up a load of it.
Last time filming this on Tuesday.
Our meals vlog will be going up later on.
So I'll put this up Wednesday or Thursday maybe.
But last night's dinner.
I made the spicy Ethiopian lentil stew.
And that takes a load of spinach.
The night before that I did a mushy pea, garden pea and spinach mix.
So I go through spinach quite a lot.
Which I'm here for.
Nice big bunch of spring onions.
Gotta love spring onion.
And they've given me this free.
Because I was rooting in the bag to return it.
I got a notification that there was a substitution from La Vie Bacon to this one.
And even though we were the first YouTubers to do a taste test on This Isn't Bacon.
When it first came out years ago.
I like it but I don't love it.
When La Vie came out it took over for me.
So I was trying to give this back.
I'll be honest with you.
And the guy said keep it I'll take it off.
So I'm like well okay then I'll keep it maybe.
But I don't know whether I want it on a brinner.
I've got used to having La Vie on a brinner.
And that same I loves.
That is another cardo shop.
From those vegan guys.
I've got to put kettle on in a minute and make a brew.
But I'll have a little chat to you about the website first like I said.
Because I.
You do know I've been working on two books.
So my poetry book written then spoken is already available on the website.
Well first let's just tell you about Down to Earth Vegan.
Which is the guide to living a vegan lifestyle.
Full of tricks and tips and recipes and all sorts.
Which I wrote well I put together in 2020.
That had its final 2026 update recently.
And then I said I'm not updating it anymore now.
It's now a finished future proofed.
Free e-book on our channel.
If you go on the books page.
Not on our channel on our website.
If you go on the books page on our website.
It will be the first book you come to.
Feel free to download it.
If you want to make a donation that would be fantastic.
Not expected.
The next book down you'll see is Penny the Pigeon Queen.
Which is a real love of mine.
Illustrations by the fabulous Helen Hawley.
Story written by me.
Lovely little book to buy for kids.
Properly published at Pegasus Publishers.
So the link from the books page on the website leads to Pegasus Publishers.
The next book down is written then spoken.
Which is almost all poetry.
But a little bit of prose.
40 odd pages.
And very very soon.
I shall be uploading my fourth book.
I am the detail.
Which is my most personal.
Revealing.
And I think powerful.
Publication which will again be free.
130 odd pages.
It will be at the bottom of the books page on the website.
When it's done.
Now I've been doing a lot of work on the website.
So there's this new books page.
There's a new PDF recipes page.
Because not everybody wants to download a full e-book.
Full of recipes.
They might just want one recipe.
So I've separated 12 of them off.
So you've got like.
Scrambled Tofu.
Marie TVG Beans.
Gardner's Pie.
Spanish Chickpea and Potato Stew.
Erm.
Did I say Scrambled Tofu?
Er.
Lots of bits.
That page is definitely worth having a look at.
Then there's other things we do page.
Which leads to The Vegan Queens.
And to Jason Bromley Music.
And to more of my writing.
There's a merch page.
There's a banner of me and Jason wearing merch t-shirts.
Out in the er.
Out in the backyard.
Erm.
Which apart from one of them.
One of them is.
I just blanked out a t-shirt I was wearing.
And put the logo on it.
You'll spot which one that is.
But.
The link.
The t-shirts that we're wearing in the banner are all.
Er.
On that page.
So I guess what I'm saying is.
Please go and have a look at the website.
Erm.
I've done a lot of work on there.
Hell of a lot of work.
And I would really appreciate you just.
Enjoying.
What I've done.
I think it looks much more professional.
It's easily navigable.
Is that a word?
Erm.
And it's full of resources.
And.
There's a contact page on there.
So if you want to send us a message.
You can do.
And our PO Box address is on that page as well.
So there you go.
That's all the news about the website.
My newest book.
Excuse me.
Erm.
I Am The Detail.
Will be released on.
The 6th of November.
Because the 6th of November.
It will.
That day is very significant to me.
And I'm a bugger for dates.
It will be 10 years.
Since what we call.
The horror.
Which is the armed robbery.
That Jason and I were.
Victims of.
Erm.
On November the 6th.
2016.
And there is a lot in the book.
At I Am The Detail.
There's a lot in that book.
From.
2017.
Which was a major year of healing for me.
Because.
They.
Absolutely beat the ---- out of me.
Erm.
Like.
Yeah.
Pretty badly.
So they messed me up.
But what I didn't realise at the time.
Was how much they messed me up.
And so 2017 was.
Coming to terms with that.
Finding the appropriate.
Erm.
Ways of dealing with that.
And.
Tapping into.
A lot of inner strength that I'd forgotten I had.
And writing my way through it.
So there's a lot of that in the book.
There's a lot before.
There's a lot after.
There's some pieces that I've written.
Just this month.
That I wanted to put in the book.
Erm.
So.
And here is.
The wind cleaner.
Right now.
And he'll be thinking.
You filming again eh?
He knows.
He's going to do my bedroom first.
That's what you can hear.
His ladder.
He's quite a handsome chappy actually.
I should prance around in my bra.
Ha ha ha.
Oh.
I'm silly.
Right.
I'll get off.
Get all this stuff put away.
Erm.
As aforementioned.
There will be.
Erm.
A lot of shopping vlogs coming up over the festive period.
So don't worry if you prefer them.
I'm sure that anyone that was here from before the shopping vlog.
Has already gone like.
What's he was.
Listening.
Going on about his bloody website.
His bloody books.
Hey.
If you don't blow your own trumpet.
You've no guarantees there's a trumpet player around who'll do it for you.
Da da da.
Alright.
I'll get off.
Erm.
Wishing you a lot of love.
I'll see you again very soon.
And until then.
Please be excellent to yourselves.
And each other.
Bye loves.
