Welcome everyone to finds of yesterday. I'm Lynn and today we're covering my summer sales
We're not gonna cover all of my sales, but we're gonna cover a couple high-end sales with the pattern
You'll start to see and a piece. I never expected to sell for that much and a brand that was new to me a
fast sale and a slow sale and
My weirdest piece that sold fast. So let's jump in
Okay, we're here on eBay on the solds and this is a
vintage pictorial
Crucifix I had purchased a whole box of these and they all sell for
$50 to $60 in that price range
one thing I do want to point out with these is that
You do need to make sure that there's nothing broke off of it
Which I didn't realize on one piece that got returned and this little INRI sign was was not on there
So just sometimes they have crossbones here. If there's a hole here, you'll notice that there is a skull and crossbones missing
You might want to check the backs of these
Sometimes the wood is showing through on some of the backs and sometimes it's chipped out. So you might want to point that out
There's things you just need to make sure you're pointing out
These were wore by priests and nuns and they're very big. They're 4 inch to 5 inch to 6 inch
Approximately, but they usually sell
Consistently between 50 and 60 dollars. So if you see them out and about pick them up
Next we have a torque necklace and I do tend to pick up torque necklaces
If they're in good condition because I hang a pendant on them
And it's easier to sell a pendant when you have
The chain or a torque chain or something with it. So I like to add that to a pendant
So this one did not need anything else to it. It was thick. It's a real thick
Twisted wire and it's sold for $59.99
Next we have a sauteur
Necklace, which is a 30 inch necklace or longer. A lot of times it it's like a lariat
It can be that style as well. It's from the Art Deco period
These lovely beads on here kind of give away the Czech beads
Which kind of brings it back to the Art Deco period even though Czech beads were made
for many years beyond
But the the wedding beads and the combination of these long beads
make it
Art Deco and
Let's see if I can find some closer. There's some pretty close-up pictures, but this one did sell for
$55.99
And it all of these pieces I've probably paid on average
I do all my pricing on averages
so when I go to a flea market or a thrift store or a
Yard sale and I buy several pieces. I add them all up and divide by the number of pieces and that's the price I
say that I paid for it, so on average these are $4 a piece that I paid for these and
The prices you'll see of what I sold for them sold them for so $55 $56 on this one
And this one was an Art Nouveau hat pin
It's got a real long pin on it. That's how you can kind of tell it's a hat pin
They usually have the longer pins. It's so cool. It's a gold-filled piece and
The pin was 9 inches and it sold within
one day
So I almost feel like I underpriced it, but I don't know
$59.99 seems like a fair price it probably could have sold upwards to $89.99, but I'm still happy with that
$60
Lucinda pins keep your eye out for these
So this one I listed and it sold in three months
So it did take a little bit longer to sell, but if anything I have sells in three months
I'm pretty happy with that this did sell for $62.99 and
It's the Halloween version the Christmas versions if they're odd shaped like this that helps sell them
Some of those standard ones with the houses or the people on them
Generally are in the 15 to 25 range, but these specialty ones you certainly want to keep an eye out for them
Here's a coral branch necklace
That sold for $64 this one took about a month to sell
Maybe less, but I I believe I had it listed
Before and I took it down and I relisted it and it sold it looks like a couple weeks it took to sell so
$64 on this nice coral branch
Let's look at it closely if you see little
Pits in it like this that definitely gives you a sign that it's a real branch
Looking on the inside of these and with different flaws sure they can recreate
the flaws as well, but a lot of times these look plastic until you look a lot closer and see ribbing in it and
Like I said the little pits on the inside
That's why I like to take close-up pictures so the people know
Exactly what they're getting and
I always see spring ring clasps. I am not sure if this is vintage or not it could possibly been made
Now, but I have a feeling it's a little bit older, but it's still $64 is good price and then the graduated sizes
Make it. I think it helps sell them better this beautiful rhinestone hot pink almost purplish
Brooch with clip earrings sold for
$70 on Best Offer and
We all know
rhinestone brooches
We always pick them up. This one's got a dome shape to it
That always helps get when it has layers like that or has that that dome shape
But this is just such a pretty color. I think that's what helps sell this now this one sold
Within eight days of listing so pretty good
$70 I'm happy with that
There's a beautiful Giuliana cameo
Love these pieces
they're just so pretty and
This one sold for 65 on Best Offer
Again, I feel like Giuliana is coming down in price a little bit
But they're still selling so that's that's a good sign and this one
took about
About two months to sell so not real fast. I probably had it priced a little high
and
Scarab watch anytime you find scarab bracelets or scarab watches this one
took
about a week and a half to sell and
It sold for $68 on Best Offer
So pretty good price for this nice scarab bracelet. It does have stone scarabs
Of course if they're glass or stone, they're better sellers than just the acrylic so that helps
All right. Next one. Now if you looked at this one, would you think new or old a lot of times we
Have a hard time
aging these pieces
This one when I picked it up first, I immediately thought Victorian look at these pink
carved glass pieces
But I started questioning it and with the little tassels on here with the beads
I thought it was just gorgeous and loved it and
What gave it away to me is the clasp
I feel like that was the deciding factor that it was
Victorian that helped prove to me that it was
Because it has the no thumb clasp on it
Again, you're gonna see these in newer pieces too. But this one has the age on it on the chain
You can tell that it's been around for a long time
The gold is not shiny shiny bright. I think this has been around for a hundred years. Maybe 90 to 100 years
so this one sold for
$70 and it took
About one month a little bit less than one month to sell. I
Threw in this one
I know it's not jewelry
But it's a little with something we find a lot of times when we're looking for jewelry is little compacts
This one was absolutely gorgeous and $69.99 is a great price for this
But the reason is because it has this flaw
It has like a water stain or it looks like it's dented to that. It had some kind of
Damage to it and it's right on front and just so noticeable
I was having a hard time putting it at closer to the price
It should have sold for which is probably a couple hundred dollars. Could I have sold it for 150? Yes
maybe
Possibly but I don't know. I didn't want I wanted somebody to love it
Even though it had this flaw, so I was happy with $69.99
Now this piece I really did not know the maker on this. I
Almost think she's a JTV or QVC
maker
But this piece was sterling silver and I don't think the people seen that it was marked sterling
I don't know they did or not, but I got this
pretty reasonable it fit in with the rest of my items in the price range that I would pay for something and
I ended up selling it for
$74.99 and it's called Whitney Kelly
Again has Tiger's Eye in it. Let's go back up. There's some Tiger's Eye and I think this is Jasper
But yeah, that piece is pretty good price. That's the new name that I never heard of before and
We're always learning when we're selling so this was a good good find for me
I bought it at a reasonable price and I researched it when I got home and that's what it was worth. So
Sometimes you just got to do that when you feel like something's quality
Now this Boucher
Little fur clip. Let's look at the back
really nice fur clip
And it is marked
easy
Look at the back here a little bit. Well, I'm looking for the name. Here it is. It's so faint
I
Thought it was very interesting piece. I don't even know if I seen the maker on it
It was such a long time ago. I bought this. I bought this piece last year and
I had it listed for over $100 because I just felt Boucher is worth
That much and a fur clip and it had this like faux leather. Maybe it's real leather
Probably and they call it a saddle looks kind of like a saddle, but this one sold for
$77 after I relisted it and that was probably about
Seven months ago and it took like
Yeah, it took it took about seven months to sell. So
Yeah, this was a longtail item, but it ended up I ended up getting
$77 for it, which I probably could have lowered the price earlier and sold it faster
Sometimes that's always an issue if you're if you're not selling something the price is either too high or it's an undesirable item
Don't we all love Swarovski?
I mean, I can't pass up hardly any pieces that are Swarovski unless they're just a little
Crystal earring or something. Sometimes they sell sometimes they take a long time to sell but if it's any kind of substantial
Swarovski piece. Yeah, I pick it up. I actually found a whole bunch in a
yard at a yard sale in a little rubber made full of plastic toys and
Pieces of jewelry and it was just a bunch of smalls and I was digging through it and I found
Several pairs of earrings there was some Trefari in there. There was some Swarovski
so it was a good find just from digging and
This one sold for $79.99
Again, this was probably a average $4 piece for me when I found it and it was in really good condition
you certainly have to take into consideration the
Condition. Let's see if we can go find the mark. It's on the clasp here wrote out and the Swan
Pull that back up the Swan don't get mixed up with Gloria Vanderbilt because she has a Swan logo, too
Swarovski has this flat bottom Swan. Gloria Vanderbilt is rounded
So keep an eye out for Swarovski
this one I
Remember paying $15 for it again. I go by
Averages, so I brought it back down to $4
But this set I debated about buying for $15 and I'm really glad I did
Even though I think I listed it way too high. I had it at
$130 it ended up on my 35% off sale and finally sold for
$84.49 it's art and art usually has some unique pieces and this is one of them
Not all of their pieces sell
For good money
but there are some specialty pieces by this company that you want to keep an eye out for and art is actually for
Arthur Pepper and
Sometimes I put that in the title which I could have on this one
But I didn't for some reason and maybe that's why it didn't sell that fast
It did take
about
Six months to sell so yeah, that's a long tail item should have sold faster than that
I should have had it marked lower. I should have went back and revisited it
Now dress clips for me
Sometimes sell and sometimes don't they take a little longer a lot of times
This one is actually
It's marked
style metals
Specialties, I guess New York, which is a very
different name
It ended up selling for $85 on a best offer, which I'm not sure why it didn't say that here
But this is a garnet. I did test it and
I think it's a really cool dress clip. But yeah
$85 most of my dress clips sell in the
25 to 35 range
This one did take about
three weeks to sell and
We all know Miriam Haskell
She's a great brand to pick up
We love her pieces at least I do
This one's a very simple piece
and I thought I would still list it higher because you never know with Miriam and who's looking for it and
If it's in really good condition, of course, you want to list it higher
Some of her plain beaded necklaces sell in the 50 to 75 range
So I thought I would just try I thought I would try 99 and just see where we go from there
this one sold
It took two months to sell but once it was marked down to 89, that's what it sold for
Pretty happy with that
Again, I paid about $4 for it
Bakelite we all know Bakelite's usually pretty good some of the thinner bangles take a little bit longer to sell
But when you get a bigger chunkier one like this one with these marbled colors mixed in
Yes, they're gonna sell for more this one. I took a best offer of $100 on
We all love Bakelite and this one took
About three days to sell three or four days and
I've talked about this one several times
This is the Monet de Mida necklace and you can tell that by this style of tassel and the tassel has
bar lengths and looks like rope chain possibly
mixed in and
It's marked Monet on the clasp
Here's what it looks like on the bust
That's what the clasp looks like this one is sought after I'm not sure why there's a lot of tassel necklaces out
There but this is good quality
Monet and Trafari are always made with good quality. It's a real thick chunky rope chain. This is not thin by any means
So this one sold for me for a hundred and twelve dollars and it took
about three weeks
So pretty good sale
Now starting here and the rest of these you're probably gonna get some kind of a pattern of
The things I sell for the higher price range that I find now. This is possibly in my area
I just happen to find these things
I'm sure you can find them too in your area
But every little area has its own thing of higher priced items
That you just need to know about that
Maybe nobody else in your area knows about anytime. I see something like this
that's like I automatically can say that's gold filled because I see it so much and I've handled it so much and I
Know everybody asked me to how do you test it?
Well, there really is not a real good way to test it
But if I feel like it looks like gold filled I will test it in an inconspicuous
Area like maybe on this on the top of this little round ring, so I'm not scratching up putting harsh
Scratches on the actual heart locket or if I open it up and do it on just the inside edge or something
I don't want to ruin this piece. It's it's probably 90 to 100
110 years old and
We don't want to put scratches on it
Anyway, I will test that and then
When you have a little bit of gold
That's on your scratch pad
The acid is not going to eat it away
completely
At first let's say that at first it
Pulls the ass or pulls the gold off the scratch pad and kind of floats it around in the acid
And that kind of tells me that it's gold filled. It's not
Eliminating the gold, but it's pulling it up like there was some other metal mixed in underneath that it's getting rid of
That's my theory
Nobody has told me that that is just my theory now you can base it off of looks
You can bring it into a jeweler or a gold person even a pawn shop. They'll tell you but
That's just my theory on it. So this one is gold filled sold it for
$119.99 and I absolutely love these I pick these up all the time. I pick up gold filled
all the time
This one is a Kramer of New York and it's big chunky and I never seen this chain before
This I thought was a locket. It looks like it should open but it doesn't it's just kind of a faux locket
big chunky heavier and
The chain is so unique
I mean, do we see this type of chain anywhere nowadays?
No
Kramer is always a good brand to pick up too, and it's got a snap clasp on it
Which is usually on the older ones. You'll see the snap clasp like that. It's a very old one heavier chunkier
just more
patterned I guess and it has
wear and you know this right here this little pattern on here just
Adds to it and that's how they did things back in the day
They they did a lot more detail to stuff than they do nowadays
Kramer of New York's
Cartouche it looks like like it was added on to the back
Very distinct readable. It's obvious. It's Kramer
This one sold for $125.99 and it's I had to relist this because I felt like this had a lot higher
Value I put it at 179 because I couldn't find any that was
Available that was sold
So I put it high and I can always come down which did come down 30% off and sold for 125
After I listed it the second time it took two months to sell so it was still waiting for a 30% off sale
Here we go again another locket gold filled
It has that it looks like it has wear on it
Somewhere on the edges you can tell that it's older because it's got the wear
Where it should be right where it's been touched the most on the tips the gold inside is
still there
You can see it's been rubbed on the edges
Quite a bit and that's where the gold came off. So this one I sold for
$131 and
It took about three weeks to sell on this one, too. It's just gorgeous
I I did pay up a little bit for these I think
It's still averaged out to my I think it was $5 and but I did pay
About $30 for this piece, but when you have this style this shape very unique
Old piece like this not just a heart shape or a round or oval shape
It's got this just unique shape. That's gonna give it some value and it's big
It was fairly big as one and a half inches for a locket. That's pretty big
so
$131 in a couple weeks
That's good
This one I think is considered a morning pendant
It looked like a locket to me at first
but you flip it over and there's an image one on each side looks like a mother and daughter possibly and
On top here, I thought this was glass or the photo had faded
but the more I researched it the more I found out this is smoky quartz that they put over top of these and
The double-sided both sides have smoky quartz on them
And it's tiny. It's only seven eighths of an inch and
It's sold for $149.99
Look how little that is it's comparable to a penny
But yeah, you want to keep an eye out for pieces like this the images of the people on here sure give away the age
We're talking probably late
1800s early
1900s I'm leaning more towards
the late 1800s on this one and this sold in
three days
Here's my weirdest
Sale of the summer
$149.99 it's sold for
cool awesome spider and spiderweb necklace
I showed this in one of my videos in one of my hauls and it didn't take very long to sell
It took about 13 days
Unlucky number 13, but it did sell
Fairly fast. I was pretty happy with that. It's a cool
Necklace, but just weird. It's Mexico piece, too
So this one is another Victorian piece
You're gonna start to see where my higher-end pieces come from. They're all
Victorian pieces
maybe Art Nouveau art deco pieces I
Did not include all of them because there were several
Just because I've been finding them and picking them up in so many different places
I'm excited about these and this one was not in the best shape
It has black enamel on it, and I've had this one before so I knew to pick it up
Or I had one that was very similar, but here it shows how bad the enamel is on it
But the the person that bought this
said that they bought an old Victorian house that they're redoing and she felt the need to
Put this in her new house
I don't know. She's gonna put it on display or what but she it sold for
$165 and it took
three months to sell
This is another Victorian piece
So this one
Pull this down a little bit
So you can see
so
This is a Bates and Bacon when they have a name on them, that's usually better
You can see it there or that's patent number. Let's go find the name
These etched ones. This is gold filled
This one had a unique
clasp on it
patented
December 26 of 05 which is 1905
Bates and B is Bates and Bacon
Engraved six-inch they're usually smaller like this one is
This sold I put this one on auction and it sold for
178.50 I thought I would try an auction for once because you never know. I always wondered if they would sell for more
But this one just sold for 178 which I was happy about it has this little hook on it
Which was different than I've ever seen on these so it kind of just pulled apart
it didn't expand outwards it just pulled up and you
Put your you know your wrist through that so it was different and it's pretty cool
So happy with that and that one took
It's sold in
about a week
And then we have another
Victorian one which honestly or art deco. No, I call this Victorian
So, I don't know why I didn't put
Victorian in the title on this one, but it probably needed it even though it's sold in
one month time, so I'm pretty happy with that
179.99 and the lady was so happy with it. It is a
Absolute gorgeous piece. This is one I paid about
$38 for initially, but again it averaged into my other pieces for about five dollars apiece
Because I had bought so many that day at a flea market that was again
Pretty happy with paying 35 for it
You got to remember that these gold filled pieces have that much value just in the gold
So I'm not
Opposed to buying pieces like this for $35 when I know I could just melt it
Which there's no way I would melt these because I absolutely love them and they do have a lot of value look at that
179 you'll never get that at the melt guy and
last but not least is
another
Victorian one
Imagine that this one sold for
$270
It's sold within
About a month and one week so about five weeks or so
$270 these etched bangles I'm telling you
See how pretty shiny that gold is it's a different
Look of a gold it almost has like a rosy tone to it
That's I think how I can tell it's gold filled you can tell it's just not like your typical
costume jewelry gold it's
It's different. It's got a little bit more of a pinkish tone to it and
They did do a lot of rose gold back in the Victorian timeframe
This is the class, but there's a little push button here that opens it up
Simple now if it had a wire across it
And that can add a lot of value to it, too
I've had several of them and I've actually sold probably
Eight more pieces in the Victorian timeframe this past summer
So I'm pretty happy with my sales even though I mean summer is always a little bit slower
Could have been much better it always can be much better, but I'm still happy with
The the amount that I'm selling
Let me know how your sales are going
How did your summer go and how does that compare to like your spring and your fall?
Let me know how your
What items are selling for you
Do you sell different items in the summer than you do the spring in the fall with jewelry for me?
It tends to be the same type of pieces all year long
I I do have a mix so I can so glass beaded bracelets
plastics
metal beads I
Sell just about anything any time of year
So let me know if you if you see any differences and what we need to look for in the summer as per se
the the spring or
Even for Christmas, what do you stock up on do you buy more?
diamond heart necklaces or something specific for
For Christmas for that sale time. So thanks for watching me
I hope these sales might help you
When you're out looking to know what to look for and what are some of the higher priced ones again?
I did not include all the small pieces
half of my
Sales for summer were under $40. So my average sale was about $38
so the pieces I showed you today are
From like $50 on up because we all can find 20 and $30 pieces every day all day
I wanted to show you some of the better pieces to look for keep your eye out
That you can start making a little bit more money on eBay
Alright, thanks for joining me. I'm Lynn from finds of yesterday
