Oh, what are you doing in there?
So today we are making planter boxes
and we're gonna actually be planting.
We've been waiting a long time for this
and believe it or not, as we approach winter,
it is now the perfect time to be planting.
So it's time to make up some planter boxes.
Does that help you?
No, I can do it.
Watch out, I can't see what's behind.
Good work.
Wanna karate chop it in half?
Okay, let's cut it in half.
So I bought them extra large.
We only want them this big,
but for some reason they sell them this wide
for the same price as this wide.
So I saved a bunch of money
and now we just have to cut it in half, okay?
Okay.
Isn't that silly?
But how we do that is gonna be tricky.
First, we're gonna clamp it.
What are we doing with the metal thing?
This is gonna be our guide for when we cut with the saw.
And then we'll clamp this to the board
and then we'll be able to slice it.
It fits perfectly.
How much easier would this be if we just had a table saw?
That's what I want for Christmas.
I want a table saw.
Actually, all I want for Christmas is to lose my teeth.
And that might actually happen because my teeth are wiggly.
All I want for Christmas is to lose my-
It's barely wiggly.
It's wiggly!
All right, now there's 10 more to do.
Hello.
We have been waiting so long for this.
We have been wanting to plant something
for a long time now, obviously,
but I do have a confession to make.
I have never been able to keep plants alive.
This has never been something that I've been good at,
gardening or even just having household plants.
So you guys have been giving us so many
really great, helpful tips and things.
So if anybody has any recommendations
for how I can learn more about gardening,
whether it's books or YouTube channels I need to check out,
obviously that's a big part of what we want to do here
is to grow our own food.
So any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Nine and a half centimeters.
Perfect.
All right, Chloe.
This is a line.
Yep, so go to the big line right there.
Can you make a line?
This is going to be our bottom.
This will be our side.
And then that'll be our other side.
Please don't split.
No!
Yeah, I thought it might do that.
This is why I need a nail gun.
So many tools I need.
You have a very large Christmas list this year.
My Christmas list will be very big,
but it'll all be tools.
No!
Oh man.
Well, I'm not getting a tool for your birthday, Daddy.
Why not?
Because there's better things to get.
We need to make it look pretty.
We need to make it look really, really pretty.
Okay, we'll do a couple more.
See, if we had a nail gun,
we would just go pop, pop, pop, pop, pop.
It'd be finished.
But since we don't have one of those,
we're going to have to drill pilot holes.
Wow, good job.
A little bit more.
Okay, good job.
That's really scary.
Yeah.
All right, so let's flip it around and do one more side.
Are we painting it?
I don't think we're going to paint on it.
It'll make it look prettier.
You think so?
Yeah, we could paint it red.
Does it look like a planter box yet?
Yeah.
It's getting there.
So we are really excited to get started
on the inside of the house.
And we have, I think, finalized our blueprints
moving forward.
So hopefully we'll be able to get those approved,
get our permits and everything that we need
to be able to start working on the inside of the house.
So last week you guys had a ton of fantastic ideas
for the moisture problems that we have going on.
We're still exploring the best possible solution
because the terrace behind the house here
is very close to the house.
But since you have so many good ideas,
does anyone have any ideas for what we can do
to reduce the smoke in this room?
Because anytime we light a fire,
pretty quickly that smoke kind of gets trapped in here.
I don't know if like a smoke guard here
would be a good idea.
And because it's so open,
I'm thinking that we might want to install
some kind of extractor fan on the roof
of the top of the vent,
so that you could even have it be operated by a switch.
You turn it on and then it kind of like has a power draft
to pull the smoke out.
We don't want to change anything about the fireplace.
Like we don't want to put glass over top of it
or anything like that.
We want it to be an open fireplace,
but it's just too much smoke in this room.
I'm making paint.
Paint?
How do you do that?
You have to smush the grass really well.
Like a bowl, but I have the perfect thing to smash.
Oh.
Need more grass.
And also the thing I'm making,
it's very good for the flowers.
So I forgot, I thought I would put them on there.
So speaking of the water intrusion,
I thought I would show behind the house.
This is how close we have.
This is the house side.
This is the terrace against the mountain.
So there is not enough room to bring any machinery
back here to dig.
If we did dig, it would need to be done completely by hand,
but you're also compromising this wall as you dig.
And to be able to dig three or four meters down,
it's just, seems a little impossible,
but we do have a nice roof
kind of completely covering this area.
And when it rains, this ground stays pretty dry.
It doesn't feel like the rain
is kind of penetrating straight down through the ground.
It actually feels like the water table is rising
and then seeping in from the bottom.
Because again, that upper wall in that room
is not getting wet.
It's kind of coming in from the bottom.
Ooh, yeah, you got a little bit of paint on there.
Green paint, good job.
All right.
So excited to plant garlic.
Yeah, me too.
Because we've been eating a lot of garlic.
It's good for you.
Looks pretty good, doesn't it?
It's good, yeah.
Only $10 to build a planting box like this.
Pretty nice.
Slice up the wood like that.
I like clean workspace.
Make like a stair step.
Yeah.
So we could have maybe six of them,
but they're all stepped down.
So you have the first here,
then the top and the next one's here,
then it kind of steps down.
Oh, I like that, yeah.
Is there room still to walk through and everything?
As long as it doesn't go past like where this stone is,
which I'd have to measure that out.
So what we could do is kind of bury this in,
screw that in and then stair step them down
and then bury another post in.
Then you can still reach.
As long as you don't have more than,
I'm thinking just do three for now.
I think three, I think three would be good.
So the girls have been begging us
to open up our other little passports box
that we have to do.
And I think it's time to finally let them have it.
Girls, are you ready?
Let's go.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Anything.
Did you just say you were born ready?
Woo!
What is it?
This one.
Don't tell us.
Is a science theme.
Cool.
So it's an outer space one.
It's cyber.
So we're gonna make some crafts
that have to do with learning about space.
Yay!
Okay, so we start right now.
Right, right, right now.
So Little Passports is a monthly subscription service
where they send you a box that is educational
and fun for your kids.
So today we're opening the Space Quest
Glowing Galaxies box.
And there are actually two crafts in here
that are space themed that the girls get to work through.
So Little Passports has given us a 30% off coupon code
to share with you guys that is Raising Voyagers 30.
And if you wanna pick up a gift for your kids
or your grandkids,
this would be the perfect time to do it.
We made a star planetarium
and we're gonna use it as a nightlight tonight.
Let's go inside and take a look at it.
Let's go see how it looks in the dark.
You guys ready?
Push real hard.
You guys see the stars?
I wanna see more.
It'll be better once it's dark outside.
Yeah, it's not quite dark enough to see it.
So I did colors.
I'm like blue.
Spread it all across.
Colors mixed together.
So of course, as we've talked about in other videos,
we're not allowed to do too many things in the house
until we get our permits,
but I've actually considered that a blessing lately
because as we're getting used to living in Italy,
we're learning things about the way homes are built here
and we're learning things
that we want to do a little bit differently.
So it's super neat to be able to kind of start from scratch
and design things,
but then also just take it slow to learn what we need
that might be different
than what they're used to doing here.
All my helpers left.
Do you like them?
I love them.
I think we should flame through them
like we did the gate.
Yeah, that'd be cool.
I think that'd be fun.
Fun or would it look good?
Both.
Sorry.
So you don't need a lot of space for garlic.
This is actually, in my head,
they are actually gonna be smaller than this.
This is more room than you need,
but we should be able to plant
at least a couple of weeks of garlic in here.
Yay.
We use so much.
Yeah, we use a lot of garlic.
What are you guys working on over here?
Paint.
You're making paint?
Earth-friendly paint.
I love it.
We made it from grass and water.
Now we're painting the rocks.
We're making like lots of stuff with wood.
Wood and rocks.
And I need to like paint the rocks and stuff.
Oh, should we go to the fairy garden and take her paint?
Oh, that's a good idea.
Do you wanna paint in the fairy garden?
No, I need things from the fairy garden.
Okay, you go get the things and bring them over.
Woo, that made me jump.
It doesn't look as cool when it's daytime,
but just like with our gate,
we wanna flame through the planter boxes.
Holy quack-a-moly.
I'm gonna move the tank back a little bit.
Yeah, that's probably wise.
Yeah, that's funny.
Start.
I'm having way too much fun.
It's still going.
It'll last forever now.
Oh, not forever.
For a long time.
Daddy, wait.
Nope.
Guys, fire.

It fits.
Nice.
I'm not super confident in the placement and arrangement.
I think we're gonna have these two poles
holding up the top one,
and then we'll stair step them down
and then put a pole down here,
but at least start this way.
We might change it.
Wowzer.
Not level.
Not level by a long shot.
It's intentional, it's for drainage.
Yeah, right.
All right, girls, I need your help holding this up.

We were just blown away by the support
and it really does mean so much to us.
So we actually had kind of a glitch in the website,

that we had talked about.

without a code.
But for a lot of people,
it wasn't working for some reason.
I still haven't figured it out,
especially if you sign up for the free preview.
So if you use the code 50OFF,
then it's going to kind of bypass that
if you're experiencing that glitch.
Yeah, and hopefully that will work for you.
If you have any issues, please email us.
And also we forgot to mention
that we are gonna be constantly updating the course.
So it's not just a one time we worked on this
and now we're releasing it.
We are gonna be continually adding to it,
