We are Raising Voyagers, Heather, Brady, Alexa, and Chloe, and we are currently on a road
trip across Morocco.
In our last video, we arrived in Casablanca, tried out some local street food, and explored
the largest mosque in Africa.
This week we explore the beautiful streets and views of Chefchaouen, or as Chloe says,
No, you have lots of energy, remember?
I thought you had a lot of energy.
So we have made it here to Chefchaouen, and this is actually the reason that we came to
Morocco.
It's because this is known as the Blue City, and all the walls are painted blue.
I'm out of shape, and there's lots of hills and stairs here, so hopefully we will be in
really good shape by the end of this week.
So what?
Good job.
What's behind you?
A cat.
Don't touch the camera.
Oh yeah.
What is that, Chloe?
Cuckoo.
Cuckoo?
What does a cat say?
Alexa, say meow.
So one of our favorite things to do is walk around on walking streets, and it's been a
while since we've been in a city with some good walking streets.
You can get lost here, and that's kind of our favorite thing.
We're getting some mango juice.
Is it good, Alexa?
What do you think, Chloe?
Yummy.
What is it?
Yummy.
What's her name?
Chloe.
Hi, Chloe.
Say hi.
Chloe, be friendly.
I'm Rita.
What's your name?
What's your name, Chloe?
Chloe.
We are going up to the terrace in our hotel.
It is a little bit past bedtime, but we have our pajamas on.
We're going to check out the view.
Okay.
Can we go upstairs?
Maybe.
Look over the edge.
Whoa.
Look at this view.
This is crazy.
You can see all of Chefchaouen.
It is beautiful.
Can we?
Yep, go ahead.
Be careful.
And Call to Prayer is starting.
Do you want to go back down?
We have this entire rooftop to ourselves.
This sits on top of our hotel, and I just can't imagine a better view to Chefchaouen.
And right now, in the middle of Call to Prayer, it is pretty spectacular.
Watch this.
Just as sun is setting, the minaret is right there, right in front of our hotel, so it's
extra loud.
And there's probably four or five other minarets off in the distance, and they all kind of
call back and forth to each other.
And this happens five or six times during the day.
I can't quite remember.
But it's absolutely beautiful.
Flying like a little birdie.
Flying.
Oh, my big toe.
Oh, your big toe.
Flying like a birdie.
Tell me what you're doing.
Flying like a birdie.
What?
Flying like a birdie.
So we have only been here a couple of hours, and already we're talking about extending
our trip here.
This is the perfect kind of city for us.
We love these small, picturesque, unique cities, and I can't think of any place better.
However, there are a lot of stairs, and the last time we were in a place that had this
many stairs, we ended up leaving early just because we are wimps and completely out of
shape.
So we will see how it goes.
And you got grumpy.
Now where are the stickers, Dad?
This is the bedroom.
Not very big, is it?
How did you sleep last night?
On the floor.
Did you sleep very well, Chloe?
She didn't sleep at all.
So, I'm getting ready, so I apologize for however I look right now, but we had a pretty
rough night.
We've had a few rough nights, jet lags, everybody's kind of on edge, Chloe has not been sleeping,
so I have not been sleeping, and I just decided this morning, really took the girls upstairs
and I was like, what can we do to have a good day today, where people aren't fighting and
being grumpy, and the truth is, even though I can discipline my kids and try to train
them to be good, like, they're going to make bad decisions and they're going to make decisions
that affect me, but I've decided I'm going to have a good day, so no matter what everybody
else decides, I'm going to have a good day, so I think we're going to have a great day.
Maybe I should take a straw
And to me that's alright
To me that's alright
I spend my days just dreaming about you
Well now that's just what I will do
I'm telling you, the sky is blue, the sun is high
I'm sitting here on my own
I think of you, you're on my mind, you know
To me that's alright
Regrets are my labour's law
Maybe I should take a straw
And to me that's alright
You know to me that's alright
Do you want to have a camel burger?
I don't know
It's a hamburger made out of camels
So, I wasn't expecting that, but now that I know there are camel burgers, I think we'll be having camel burgers for dinner
Not we
There's no way
Just a little late
This is like turning into Adventures of Heather trying new foods and I don't know if I like it
