Have you ever wondered why your shorts on YouTube didn't get views and others did?
Is going viral on shorts that hard? Is it just luck?
What if I tell you that it's not?
A YouTuber named Jack Craig started a new shorts channel just to prove that.
On his second video, he gained over 10 million views in most of the videos
after that got 1 to 6 million views on just a little over 52,000 subs.
So how could he make shorts go viral like that if it wasn't luck?
Well, I'm here to break it down for you.
YouTube shorts is not luck. You just need a proven process.
Watch to the end of this video to learn how you can make viral shorts yourself,
which can generate tens of thousands of dollars for just one short.
And it's not as hard as you think.
Let's get into it.
Now the first thing you want to do before making a video is to find a niche for yourself.
As for Jack, he chose AI soccer content as his niche.
At the time, this niche wasn't so popular and wasn't over-saturated on YouTube.
So maybe you should do the same as Jack did, look for niches that have low competition.
That way, the chances of you getting a high view count
and high return viewer rate is no longer a possibility.
So how do you find a niche for yourself?
Simply go on YouTube, click on shorts, and start scrolling.
Spend some time watching shorts from other channels.
See what you like, what suits you, and what you can recreate.
If the competition's low and the view count is consistent, then you might strut gold.
You can also go to other platforms like TikTok or Instagram to look for suitable niches.
Before I started this channel, I had to spend countless hours watching,
researching tons and tons of videos and channels just to find my niche.
But there's a much easier way for you.
I recently found out about Playboard. It'll take a lot of time off your research.
Just search for any type of niche and every shorts related to that will show up.
It'll show you the basic statistics of those shorts and the channels that posted them.
If you want me to show you the details of how to use it, drop a comment below.
Let's continue.
After Jack found his niche, he started to create his contents.
You can experiment with your niche right away, too.
The proven strategy is to bring trending niches from other platforms over to shorts,
add your own style and figure out ways to improve the niche.
Write that down.
This next step might sound silly,
but it's to choose the account that you'll post your shorts on.
Jack mentioned that when he uploaded a short on a brand new channel,
it was removed immediately because YouTube saw it as spam.
Even after he got his channel to be relisted, it wasn't pushed into the algorithm.
He also found out that there have been almost no new viral shorts
channels created in the last three months.
So if you have an account that's been active for quite a while,
use it to make a channel and upload your content.
The point is to maximize your chances of going viral, and this is one of those ways.
Let's think about your niche for a second.
What type of content can you create?
What value can you bring to the audience?
The crucial aspect of how viral your shorts can be depends heavily on the script.
There are multiple ways to work your way into a good script.
If you're already familiar with the niche,
just a bit of creativity can get you where you want.
If not, you can join several subreddits relating to your niche to get information.
Or go to ChatGPT to make it write a script for you.
As for ChatGPT, there are other alternatives to that, like Google's Gemini or Claude.
After getting the script, it's time for voiceover.
Don't have time to record or don't want to use your own voice?
Try using Play, HT, or Eleven Labs.
These will generate some nice voiceovers for you.
Just type in the lines from your script and let the tools do the work.
Let me know if you'd like me to go further into the details of these tools.
Now, for some light editing, Jack uses Premiere Pro,
but you can use any editing software you want.
I will release a dedicated video explaining how to create and edit these shorts in detail
and some of the techniques that I use to make an interesting
short that will maximize viewer engagement.
It's easy to see Jack's success with the niche she chose, but what about yours?
The first few shorts that you upload might not bring great results.
It failed because it was irrelevant to soccer.
Or this.
See how controversial it was?
Yeah, that's why.
Most people usually just quit after that,
but they didn't realize that it may require them several attempts before finding a successful niche.
Success may take time and experimentation,
so review your shorts regularly, see what you can improve,
and apply it to the next short you make.
And keep tabs on potential niches and test them out, see what works.
Over time, your shorts will blow up without you even noticing.
Another thing you might want to consider is to upload your content to other platforms
as a form of seeding to get additional views for your YouTube channel.
TikTok also has a program called TikTok Creativity Program which generates revenue for you,
but be cautious due to its complex withdrawal requirements.
If you're going to use AI voiceovers for your shorts,
be sure to clearly state it in the description to ensure compliance with YouTube's monetization
policies.
Also avoid creating content that violates YouTube's policies to prevent demonetization
or removal from the platform.
Once you are eligible to make revenue on YouTube,
keep a consistent upload schedule for a stable income.
You can use Social Blade to predict your future revenue.
And that's everything I've learned from Jack.
This was a quick breakdown of the process he uses for viral shorts.
Remember, consistent is key and don't be afraid to experiment new things.
