This is MASSIVE for Penguins Fans...

This is absolutely massive for the Pittsburgh Penguins as tonight Sergei Miroshchev is Making his season debut as the Penguins play the Winnipeg Jets in Pittsburgh tonight looking to continue their winning streak to start off the season they have you know came off a massive win against the Montreal Canadiens a 6-5 win where they squeaked it out in overtime, you know, despite blowing a lead doesn't matter They won and we are here on Penguins Digest to discuss all that going into tonight's game. I always like to look at the schedule Obviously, you know big win against the Flyers 7-0 big win against the Canadiens 6-5 So Penguins 2-0 on the season and tonight they play the Winnipeg Jets I think this will be a fun game for the Pitchford Penguins I'll get into a little bit later, but Stuart Skinner former Pitchford Penguin It's not starting tonight for the Winnipeg Jets. It will be their backup bully who are leaves me right now I don't I don't remember who it is. Obviously Connor Hellebuck It's not playing for the Winnipeg Jets if for you for those that might not know he requested a trade and he's just not showing Up, he's not playing so that will be interesting to look at today I think the biggest thing coming out of the lineup is going to be that third line where it's Kuzmanko Kendall and Koivunen Phillip Hollander is gonna be out of the lineup. Billy Koivunen is coming into the lineup Other than that things pretty much remain status quo on Nick Robertson, Cindy Crosby, Ricard Raquel I'm curious what they're gonna do when Brian Russ comes back whenever that is because Robertson has looked decently well next to Cindy Crosby and then Chinnikov Tommy Novak coming off a really really strong game with Evgeny Malkin and then Andre Kuzmanko is gonna make Well, not his home debut, but he has making a second game with the Pitchford Penguins He's gonna be an important player for them and then Kendall, Koivunen, Duerr, Lazat, LaPierre today instead of Elmer Soderblom Seems like he's gonna be getting in that lineup He was pretty solid in the last game in my opinion and then Declan Carlisle, Erik Karlsson Declan Carlisle, Erik Karlsson, Sam Gerrard who apparently was playing through a broken foot last season Which explains a lot of things, Kaden Korczak and then Trevor Van Riemersyke and Krista Tang are listed as the third pair there So that is going to be your lineup going but let's talk about what's coming into line First of all, what's coming into line was gonna be Vili Koivunen who has played one game this year has one goal Obviously signed the massive contract eight years I think was what four million or something like that and he needs to be strong this season. He needs to be a regular player I think the plan is the Penguins do want him to play as much as they can You don't want a guy who just signed to an eight-year deal in the penalty box So they're not penalty box, press box So he makes sense coming into here and then obviously Philip Hollander is coming out of the lineup He was very solid in the last game. I think it's nice to see him up on the team again He has two goals one assists in two games. He's been very strong with the Penguins I know you might just might disagree with him coming out of lineup considering how well he's played and you know How big he plays he's 6'2 207 it says there He's been in the organization for a long time briefly. I think he was part of the least organization in a trade I forget what the trade was, but he's back here 26 years old drafted. What would that be almost? What eight years ago, which is loud to say and then he is making his time but he is coming out of lineup and the most important thing is going to be a Sergey Miroshov who was starting today first start of the season Sergey Miroshov is the first going off the ice following Penguins morning skate looks like he'll make his debut tonight Versus Winnipeg and he didn't play too much with the NHL team last year. This guy doesn't even have his stats up I think he was like an eight nine seven in terms of a NHL thing But I wouldn't even I wouldn't even think about his NHL time last year. It's kind of irrelevant because he played extremely strong in the HL where the Penguins also had a decent run in the past again He had a 9-1-9 a safe percentage in the HL. He was super good in the HL It seems like it was time for him to come up and play games in the actual season. I'm super excited for him This is why I think it's massive for the Penguins fans Like I said in the beginning of the video this guy has to be your guy I don't know what's gonna be this year because hopefully she loves can play pretty well Obviously lend five goals last game, but he had a shout out first game So do what you will with that information, but again, it's only 22 I think Miroslav is a guy who needs to be important for the Penguins I know there's someone like Joel Blomquist who's also very good in the HL But if I took put my bets on who would be the penguin starter, you know next year or even later this year It would be on Marcia. I think he's super sound. He's very good And this is you know, kind of what Dan Muse was want to say about him I think it's great opportunity for him coming in. He had those games last year. He got that experience I think we're looking at it too because it's early in the season So we don't want anybody sitting for too long So we just wanted to get both guys going and I think that makes a ton of sense So I think it's a Winnipeg team who is gonna be perceived as maybe a weaker team in the in the NHL Obviously, they weren't very good last year now Hello bucks not playing you got to think that you know, the penguins look at them as a weaker team as well So with Miroslav going tonight, I think it's gonna be a fun game to watch, of course And I'm not sure how this was gonna be at I see as maybe a 41 game 41 games But for the goalies, of course, it's almost inevitable that there's gonna be some injuries at some point So I think bonkers will come up maybe every now and then but for now, let's not hope it's gonna be any injuries I think Marcia is gonna be a guy to watch and I think he's gonna be very good But just if anybody is curious is what the Jets lines are looking looking like Kyle Connard mark straightly Cole profetti I think that's eyes Isaac Rosen. I think they go Bjork. Who's their rookie Gabriel Velarde? Morgan Barron try to remember all the first names Adam Lowry Brad Lambert, you don't need a writer of Latin domestic of and outside of follow Josh Morrissey Dylan de Mello Dylan Sandberg Neil Piong Mario fro and Bauer who was just in a crazy I think fight the other day and then in at a Stevenson who I this first name leaves me right now So that is who are who you are looking for in tonight's game and those are the head-to-head stats Don't look too much into this because we're like three games into the season the Penguins goals per game is 6.50 because they scored seven goals then this court six. Oh, but yeah, this is kind of the stats I'm already doing with nothing really. I actually want to bring this up. There's really nothing to look into here I mean, they played two or three games each The power play seems to be clicking on both sides the penalty kill is also good on both sides, but everything looks good the first few games in the season and because there has been Because there's been you know There's this preseason was short and training camp was short. Every team is scoring a crazy amount of goals I don't know if you guys seen what's wrong with the Emerson Oilers They are just they're just conceding and scoring everything and the Penguins they just scored seven They gave up five in the score six Like it's a lot of stuff that's going on in NHL this year because the preseason was so short training camp was so short It feels like those extra two games, you know the 84 games because we're going from a 284 I like the preseason games now, but they count I don't I don't know what's going on But before we get out of here, I do want to quickly bring bring this up I'm sure you guys have seen this. I'm so bad. She actually did announce that this is his last season With the Washington Capitals and in the NHL, which is uh, you know crazy to say I'm sure all Penguins fans know I was so much in very well those those battles have always been super fun I'm not gonna read the whole statement You can check online if you want to or pause the video and zoom in you can also do that, too I just wanted to bring this up because Crosby and Malkin both spoke about it This is what Crosby had to say about Ovechkin I'm sure it's something he'd be asked about a lot So it's nice to just be able to get that out there and enjoy playing and focus on hockey So yeah, I definitely had some great battles over the years and obviously when you get to our age That's something you have to make decisions on for him as long as he's happy enjoying it That's the biggest thing and then from Evgeny Malkin on Ovechkin retiring. It's hard because he's a legend fans. Love him He's done everything for the team for the league. I hope he I hope he plays good this year. No injury He just stay healthy score goals and enjoy the game and just like that Only four more matches between Crosby and Ovechkin October 7th, which is the Penguins next game after tonight's January 18th, March 13th And then April 4th will be the last game Again between Crosby and Ovechkin in the regular season, but of course tonight the Penguins are dealing with the Winnipeg Jets So let me know if you guys are excited for tonight's game Sergey Maryshaw I think it's gonna be super exciting to see how he plays tonight. Hopefully it's well, I'm really rooting for him I think he's the Penguins goaltender of the future for the next decade and let me know what your favorite Crosby vs. Ovechkin memory I think common to go with that dueling hat trick game. That was crazy, but it was so long ago It's it's wild how long these guys been playing together. I think bit practically my whole the whole time. I've watched the NHL It's been Crosby's been Ovechkin So it's kind of sad to see Ovechkin retire But I think Crosby has a lot years a lot of years left in him Anyways, that's gonna do a video.
