This Is a GREAT Signing For The Jets...
1 Video View·Oct 9, 2026
This is a great move for the New York Jets,
a team that has been starved to find any consistency
getting to the quarterback,
just brought back the most impressive pass rusher that they had on the
team during the preseason.
And Aaron Glenn has another domino in his portfolio for this upcoming
game against the Browns in which the Jets really need to win at one
and three. They are in a dire
situation and so is their defensive line depth what's going
on guys I'm Josh Byrne you're tuned
into Jets Digest guys thank you
so much for all the support over recent days weeks months as me
and Chris Gallagher continue to provide you
with daily updates on everything you need to know
pertaining to the New York Jets now the defense
was a positive through the first two and a half
weeks of the season.
And it looked like Aaron Glenn taking over as the primary play call was
really paying dividends. Unfortunately, things have changed.
And you saw in week three against
the Detroit Lions, their offense just completely went off.
And Aaron Glenn had no answers to stop
the former team that employed him.
And unfortunately, contrary to the situation in
Chicago facing a backup quarterback the Jets
were manhandled by the Bears and the score was not
really indicative of how much that Bears offense
was able to go down the field at will and control
the game now the Jets defense they were able
to get a couple of goal line stands they were able
to bend and not break at times
but ultimately they were getting the ball moved on them the entire
game and had no answers.
A big reason why their inability to rush the passer and the Jets just
brought in the sack leader from the preseason for them
who they had curiously let go in the first
place. New York Jets ATF media confirmed
on Wednesday that the Jets are signing edge rusher
Nate Lynn to the active roster from the practice squad per Connor Long.
He's the guy that we signed
during camp and then went ahead
and had three sacks in two preseason games. Thoughts? Thoughts
this is a great move
and I think it's going to help David Bailey as well which is why on
I'm trading yes this might sound crazy
on David Bailey recording over three sacks in a single
game I understand that this is unlikely
but when you look at what the market is showing
only 10% of people are trading yes on this so I feel like
if you've been following David Bailey
and you see the amount of talent that he showed especially over
the summer and even through these
first four games in which he already has two sacks
then there is reason to believe that a
breakout is coming and it could be coming as soon
as this weekend now this trade is for at any point
this season but again guys this video is brought to you by Calshi
and you can trade whatever you
want on that platform because unlike traditional sports books you
are trading directly against
other users. So if you are buying yes or no contracts,
you can do so on the outcomes across

when you trade your first $25. Okay. Now guys,
the New York Jets are an improved team no doubt about it
but David Bailey was perhaps the most
hyped player this summer
and I'm hearing a lot of criticisms about him I'm hearing a lot of
perhaps overreaction he has two sacks 12 solo tackles
and one forced fumble now obviously
the top line statistics don't always tell
the whole story the fact of the matter is is that
nobody on the Jets defensive line has able
to be getting consistent pressure. And when nobody's
able to get consistent pressure, it is harder for anyone to.
That might sound silly, but it's true.
Think about it. If no one is dominating and no one is excelling,
then there is not going to be
an increased amount of focus on any specific player.
And therefore, no one will be able to
take advantage of any short-sighted views or,
you know, double teams because nobody's getting
double teamed. Defenses aren't preparing for any particular player
because the Jets, especially
these past two weeks, have been manhandled
by the opposing offensive line. Don't believe me? Well,
Zach Rosenblatt pointed out that there's 218 defensive players
with at least 25 pass rushing
snaps from weeks two to four here's where
the qualifying jets rank in pressure rate 90th 123rd
137th i'm not going to go through the whole list
but you see it's not good it's actually impressive
how bad it is which fully explains why the jets
are currently ranked 29th in pressure rate at just
30.6 on the season and when you analyze how Aaron
Glenn's defense works he has been running over 70
percent of his plays in zone coverage he is relying
on the ability to get after the quarterback
so that they aren't making those decisions once
the zone coverage breaks down they're not able
to pickpocket the weak spots in the zone
but they've been able to do so you saw that taken
advantage in full by Jared Goff in the second half
in Detroit in week three and you saw Tyson
Bagent doing now I understand
that Tyson Bagent should have ended up throwing four interceptions
but again the Jets were allowing the Bears
to storm down the field at will and the Bears were
employing a backup quarterback
and this comes during a dire situation okay because Nate Lynn
is not only going to be asked to be a spark plug
for the Jets defensive line but he's also coming
to replace a guy who was hurt
because Braden McGregor he's done for the year he essentially
got the role on this team on the 53-man roster over Nate Lynn,
and now he's out with a season-ending
pec injury. Good for Nate Lynn,
obviously terrible news for Braden McGregor.
And looking at the Jets
depth chart, Kinsley Enigbare,
another guy who was brought in to be a prominent player on this
defensive line, is also dealing with injuries of his own.
So not only are the players that are on
the field struggling to get any pressure,
but the Jets are also going without some of their
key backup pieces. And so it's going to be interesting to see.
And again, I understand
that David Bailey hasn't been everything we could have wanted,
but it's four games and you have to
understand how short of a sample size
that is and how rare it is for a rookie to break out as a
pass rusher. It usually takes a couple years.
Now, I get it. He was the second pick in the draft. We
want immediate results. I totally understand.
That may still be coming, and he's also shown
something already. He hasn't been bad.
It's not all on him. The Jets have a more experienced pass
rusher in Will McDonald, who was also a first-round pick,
and he has been objectively worse than David
Bailey, mustering just one sack
and four solo tackles across the four games. The Jets need more
from him but perhaps Nate Lynn can continue the momentum that he showed
and he was building in
the preseason and be a strong difference maker
for a Jets defensive line that needs it now more
than ever comment below let me know what you guys think about
the Jets bringing in Nathaniel Lynn
do you believe he will be an impact difference maker on this line
or will it be more of the same
for a Jets defense that has not been able to get
to the quarterback comment below let me know and
As always, guys, let's go Jets.
