This is a golden opportunity for the Memphis Grizzlies now with the recent NBA Cup scheduled the field Things may not look in favor for the new look Rebuilt Grizzlies team, especially when you go after guys and go against guys like that shade cultures Alexander But there is a opportunity here for the Grizzlies to compete with little to no expectations little to no pressure Let's go ahead and break it down and see what they've got into what's going on Now the NBA Cup schedules and brackets or I should say just schedules and groups will reveal for the Memphis Grizzlies and Again we all know this is a young team with They're clearly in a rebuild mode But I don't think it's really going to take as long as some fans may think that it's going to take I think there are great Young leaders on this team that are going to take this Grizzlies team to new heights that who knows maybe have never seen before I mean, that's something we got to figure out but but this is what the NBA came up with for The NBA Cup and that's the fact that the Grizzlies are gonna play the 2025 NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder at Pelicans versus the Clippers and at the Timberwolves For that group, so you automatically look at two teams and you go. Okay. These are consistent playoff teams. One is a championship contender and Then you look at the Pelicans. They really haven't done much. They're supposed to be in the laughing stock of the NBA at least supposedly I don't really Feel like they've done much this offseason and they went Zion. They really only got that one to look forward to But then you've got the LA Clippers who? they've made some moves in the Door before the trade deadline last year. They for example getting there. It's Garland They got Keith Wadler in the NBA draft who I champion for a long time But it seems like the Clippers are starting out new and then what's gonna happen with why Leonard? Hopefully that deal with Toronto will be finalized open to go back to where he won an NBA championship in 2019 So already two teams off the bat there you would say are You could easily see them getting the best of the match with Grizzlies, right? But you know, you never really know and for Abbas Bokhari of the Bill Street Bears He sees it that same way games against the Pelicans and the Los Angeles Clippers should be manageable based on where things stand right now However games against the solid Minnesota Timberwolves team and likely title contender in the Thunder could prove to be problematic on three And one or better isn't fully off the table yet, but odds are the Grizzlies will like to go two and two or worse Now the reason why the Grizzlies didn't advance even though seem like they were doing pretty good last year was because of point Differential now it matters a lot You don't want to necessarily Want to run up the score, you know, especially if you really don't need to but you know that matters So in this case, I mean running up the score for the Memphis Grizzlies I mean, I'm kind of an old-school traditional guy where I'm like, hey look, you know We're shooting threes and we're up by 47 points. I mean, hey like you didn't play defense the whole game So what makes you think we're gonna take you seriously playing defense now the point differential doesn't matter And I think hopefully through my piece alone kind of get this guy's And that if they are in position for that, but this is more wide open of a Group, then I had kind of predicted. I mean if they were somewhere in against like the Lakers or the Rockets or the Suns or Still the Thunder. I mean, I would absolutely think they have no chance I mean that to me is like a death group in my opinion, but You know, you have a chance here you have at least somewhat of a chance to put up some noise, but it make Show some teeth. I mean why you can I mean like it's the NBA top Now the Knicks did beat the Spurs in the NBA Cup championship, which did lead to the NBA final So many were who were like, oh, well who takes it seriously? Well, the two teams that ended up In the championship ended up playing in the final So maybe some will take it seriously after that But hey, I mean you're still playing for money, you know, you're still playing for pride It's the middle of the season. But I mean, hey, I mean you're still playing basketball. It still adds up to 82 games anyway So why not? More about this Bakari here And he says based on recent history winning us a Thunder just simply seems like too much to ask for Yeah, I'd probably agree with that But it shouldn't come as a big surprise if the Grizzlies win convincingly Pelicans and the Clippers chances are that the deciding game for the Grizzlies advancing or not will be against the Minnesota Yeah, I mean you could you could see them. I could easily see them go two and one before, Minnesota And then Ant-Man drops 40 on them and then But they I mean they still have problems of their own. I mean with even Chen so suffered a major injury playoffs last season And so the Minnesota Timberwolves still have some questions to answer also not agreed left for the opponents, but now the Timberwolves are with Romello ball So I can easily see them go two and one before they face, Minnesota, but You know, you just really never know. I mean basketball is it's This is a professional It's not as predictable as Some of us I mean NFL every Sunday is never college football, I mean is honestly we see upsets all the time, but It's more predictable than the NBA is. I mean, it's a professional league. So you never really know But what else does obvious Bakari have to say? He says it's a challenging job compared to last year, but it's potentially very fun schedule for the Grizzlies Plus it might not be a better opportunity for the Grizzlies to establish itself early as one of the prized teams in the NBA Grizzlies will most likely fail to advance, but the possibility of moving on shouldn't be fully You don't play the games on paper you play the game And this is like I said at the very beginning of the video a golden opportunity for them to Be a young team that has no pressure and To me that they are a young team with no pressure Cam Boozer the the perfect young leader. I think he's gonna turn into a Phenomenal leader in the next few years. It's gonna be the face of this team. I think I you know, we could say Cedric Howard or that he but honestly Cam Boozer is that guy that you draft that's NBA ready now. You look at him as a Real rookie of the year candidate, and he's that guy that's gonna change the what this franchise is And even though there have been talks about all the Memphis Grizzlies moving here. They're blah blah blah I don't think that's gonna happen. But if there's any kind of last gasp attempt at for sure saying hey, we're not gonna move anywhere else then I Mean I think Cam Boozer is really realistically that guy that's Going to completely shut that down.
