The only NON FAKE review of Marriott Grand Flora Hotel in Rome

When we were looking for a hotel in Rome, Italy, all the reviews we saw for the Marriotts were fake using robot voices and screenshots from the website. Here is a REAL review of this magnificent hotel, the Marriott Grand Flora on Via Vittoria Veneto in Rome, and our oval junior suite including what we paid for it.

So we're here in Rome, Italy,
and we're trying to find a place to stay,
and we like the Marriott name.
It's always been safe.
It's always been good to us.
We decided to stay at the Marriott Grand Flora.
Not the most inexpensive place to stay, but it's safe.
So forget about all the taxi scams
you're hearing about on YouTube.
It's nuts.
We've had five or six taxi drivers.
They've all been honest and on point.
They all take credit cards and no funny business.
They're just trying to scare you with these videos.
Here's the lobby.
Well-appointed, very, very nice.
Typical Marriott stuff.
Now, the elevators in Europe are tiny,
so it's just you and your bags and another couple.
Otherwise, you're gonna have to wait.
We got the Oval Junior Suite.
We wanted a little bit of space.
We're gonna be here for five days.
Wanted to be able to stretch out a little bit.
Now, the room, very well-appointed,
very large, enough room to spread out
and just really make it home for a couple of days.
So this was very nice.
However, like all bathrooms in Europe,
it is a small bathroom.
This was nice to have a little couch,
a place to do your work and kind of chill out
after a long day of doors.
And the bathroom, little small,
not a lot of counter space in there,
but you can make it work.
The towels are very, very nice.
You have a toilet and a bidet,
and there are no video instructions on the bidet.
I was very upset about that.
I'm considering making one, so subscribe.
No, don't.
Yeah, I'm not gonna do that.
The shower has that half-glass wall,
which is useless.
You get water all over the floor, and I don't know.
Hot water was plentiful.
No problems there whatsoever.
Pressure is amazing.
They do give you soap, conditioner, and shampoo,
and some other stuff here.
So that's all.
I think it's in all the rooms.
This room has a little closet with a safe,
and that's nice.
You can hang your stuff up here if you want to.
Also an iron and an ironing board, pretty typical.
And a little bit of storage space if you wanna unpack.
Now, the thermostat, there's no numbers on it.
It's either up or down.
Green, apparently, is cold,
and red, I'm guessing, is hot.
But our room was super hot.
It was 42 degrees outside,
but it was just hot in this room.
USBs and European power adapters on power outlets,
I'm sorry, on both sides of the bed,
so that was nice.
Make sure you bring your adapter,
and make sure your device is handled 220.
This was your mini bar, and they have a bottle of wine.
It's not free, a little coffee maker.
That's actually like a hot water tea kettle kind of deal.
And you've got some peanuts.
Of course, there's a charge for all of this stuff, too.
And your fridge and a little mini bar,
and you do have to call for ice if you want ice.
A lot of Americans want ice.
It is a Pepsi shop.
There is no Coca-Cola here.
I was a little disappointed in that,
but Pepsi over here is a little better.
It is definitely different than American Pepsi.
So we're out of our hallway here,
and there's an elevator right here,
which will take you to the seventh floor,
which is where the breakfast buffet,
and they're constantly trying to sell you
this breakfast buffet.
It's upwards of 40 bucks a person,
but it's a very nice breakfast buffet.
We didn't do it.
I can't do breakfast like that.
I just wanted a croissant and a cup of coffee Americana.
And it is on the seventh floor.
Now, you can go towards the restaurant.
They did have a very, very busy breakfast.
I mean, it looked good.
It was clean.
It was bright.
It's a beautiful room, and it's on top of the building.
Very, very nice breakfast, if that's your thing.
And also, there is the rooftop bar,
which opens, I think, from 12 to seven.
They have a bartender out here.
And you can enjoy some beautiful views
of the Borghese kind of area.
Hope I said that right.
But it's a beautiful park
behind one of the Roman walls here,
and you can see the top of the wall as well.
We could see the wall from our hotel window,
so that was really interesting.
And you can see the mountains in the distance as well.
Beautiful vistas from up here on the seventh floor.
Back down to the lobby.
Decided to swing by the bar, the hotel bar,
and there's a restaurant behind it too.
Simple Marriott type of restaurant.
It's fairly affordable.
We got a couple shots of tequila,
which are about 14 euros a piece.
It's typical hotel pricing.
There's a large selection of stuff here.
All your favorite liquors are going to be here.
Your Tito's, and we were able to get Patron
and Don Julio tequila, which is our favorite.
Your brown water here, your whiskey.
It's all here.
They have a really good selection of liquors
from all over the world, so that was nice.
It'll make you feel at home.
And again, they're a Pepsi shop.
They do have Budweiser and Heineken,
if you're into the American beers,
but Peroni is the thing to drink down here.
Here is the menu.
You can pause it here if you need to,
see what's available in the restaurant too.
A typical Italian fare.
It looked pretty good.
We did not eat here,
but there's so many different places we wanted to try.
And this is the inside of the restaurant.
It's cute.
It looks pretty cozy and comfortable.
This is the West End, about two blocks away from here.
We decided not to stay there
because we heard some of the rooms had some,
they were in desperate need of updating.
So we decided to go with the Marriott,
which has done an update a few years ago,
so that was nice.
So I wanted to see if there was a spa here.
I heard there was a spa,
but apparently I couldn't find it,
or I don't know where it was.
I went to the negative one floor,
and there is a fitness room.
Decided to take a look in there.
I wanted to get my disco lawnmower move on
and work out the muscles before another crazy day of touring.
A couple of treadmills,
got a little bit of free weights here
and some ellipticals, it looks like.
And of course you can stare at yourself
getting your groove on.
But that's a lot of fun.
And there's this beauty room in the basement too.
I'm not sure what that was all about.
It was locked,
because I guess I will never be beautiful.
And then there's these mysterious like four foot doors.
It was open and I want to see what's in there.
I'm not going in there.
It's under Rome.
Are you kidding?
Probably like dead Roman soldiers in there.
And there are just basically meeting rooms
in the bottom floor here.
A lot of meeting rooms.
They do a lot of conferences and stuff here.
And the Marriott's very well known for that.
They do a great job.
So there it is.
The Grand Flora Rome.
Great hotel.
