Royal Suite, In Depth | Four Seasons Hotel Madrid

We are really at a key point in the history of Madrid,
at the intersection of Calle Sevilla with Calle Alcalá.
This was one of the most important buildings at the time,
and here you can imagine that the most important moments in the history of Spain have passed.
Here we are at the Four Seasons in Madrid, in the Royal Suite.
The Royal Suite has 400 square meters
and it's the largest single-bedroom suite Spain has actually ever seen.
It is the only space that has remained unchanged
during the 130 years of the history of the building.
Well, preserving this piece within the Mare Magnum,
which was the work that only the facades were preserved,
curiously, it is the only space in the building that remained intact
and was encapsulated and managed like this.
The seven years of work were here.
And then, when it was time to act, they began to restore it very carefully.
When we visited this space for the first time,
to find out how to deal with it,
only this room was as big as it is now.
The rest of the rooms in what is now the suite
were smaller spaces, more shared, uninterested,
quite mistreated by time and previous interventions.
Our proposal was to use a very soft palette
and very toned in all the carpets and fabrics.
What really breaks with that softness
is the art that Pablo Mare has selected.
I have managed to combine the 19th-century classicism
with the 21st century.
I believe that the art in this room
is a way of discovering it,
being in a place where you can think of it as your own collection,
which is less is more.
And here, in this case, the lack of art
for this magnificent space is more,
because what it really wants is to highlight what is there.
And in the end, the Royal Suite is an extension
of the entire project of 1,500 works
of the Four Seasons art collection,
which has always tried to promote and project
Spanish emerging art.
And what is being done here in our country,
which is frankly surprising,
is already surprising many of the clients
who visit the Four Seasons.
It is a multidisciplinary suite.
A client can stay here on the nights they need to,
but you can also have a celebration,
a product presentation or any other type of event.
And this suite is a bit of the crown jewel of this hotel.
But the ultimate difference
when a guest comes to Four Seasons,
regardless in what room they are at,
is about the service delivery,
which is done by the people.
We are in an industry where people are important
and we really want to have our focus on our people.
And we are very blessed here in Madrid
to have an incredible team of craftsmen
that really deliver to that guest expectation.
