Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe speaker shares a simplified, dermatologist-approved skincare routine that combines high-potency prescription ingredients with affordable drugstore products. She emphasizes that a few key active ingredients are more effective than complex multi-step marketing routines, while also noting the role of estrogen in maintaining skin elasticity during menopause.
Here's where it gets really complex.
Are you ready?
It's gonna be the bougiest skincare ever video.
Hello, and welcome to the show.
It is an updated nighttime and morning skincare routine.
It's the end of the day,
so I'm about ready to wash all of the makeup off
and start from scratch.
For those of you who have been with me for a while,
some of this may not be very surprising whatsoever.
And if you're just joining me,
welcome to basic skincare.
But I'm gonna tell you something.
I learned this from my dermatologist, Dr. Marjorie Nigro.
What she has taught me is this,
and it's what I'm going to show you.
A few key ingredients from the dermatologist
mixed with a few very inexpensive ingredients
that you can get at your drugstore
or whatever your needs may be
is all the skincare you need.
Five steps and 50 layers is a bunch of marketing.
So I'm here to show you something
that I think is going to make for the shortest video ever.
But what can I say?
Let me also state for the record
before I wash all of this off.
It would not be truthful if I didn't share
the fact that my estrogen patch
that's on my tuchus helps with my skin.
Let's face it, when we go through menopause and midlife,
the lack of estrogen creates lack of collagen
and elasticity in the skin.
I supplement.
This helps.
This can do what no other cream or potion can do
or can't do.
You know what I mean?
Anyway, I just have to state that.
Estrogen helps.
So let me wash all this off
and I will revisit you with a bare face in just a sec.
All right, got myself a cool case of raccoon eyes
I'm going to get rid of in just a sec.
I used Cetaphil Foaming Face Wash.
This one is for skin redness.
So it's very gentle and mild.
Do you say Cetaphil or Cetaphil?
I don't know, I say Cetaphil.
Maybe, maybe I'm wrong.
I use also Neutrogena, the oil-free eye makeup remover
just to get rid of any residual eye makeup
that might be left.
And apparently there's a lot.
Okay, here's where it gets really complex.
Are you ready?
It's going to be the bougiest skincare ever video.
Okay, the trusty tube of Tretinoin.
Look at this.
Look at this thing.
Look how squeezed out it is.
0.1%.
So this is the Mac Daddy.
I think it starts at 0.025, 0.5, 0.75.
I'm at 0.1.
I have worked my way up.
Literally, this is all I use.
And I mix it with any moisturizer.
Literally, any moisturizer.
You can get the cheapest one.
You can waste your money and get the most expensive one.
It doesn't matter.
What I do get, because I've mentioned before
that I deal with rosacea and I get some little,
like, pustules right in here.
I'm a big fan of honey for the skin, honey for the body.
So I'm using, I found this Hay Honey on Amazon
that's great for rosacea.
Dermatologist tested oil-free propolis it has in it.
Calming for redness.
So I take my Tretinoin, literally a pea-size amount.
Okay, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot.
Yes, you can use it around the eye area
better than any eye cream on the planet.
Look how much money I just saved you.
Take whatever face moisturizer you got laying around
and take a double pea, pea in a pod.
Dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot.
Look at that, rub it all together.
Yes, even above the lip where you get lip lines.
I put it there too.
Tap it around the eyes.
Yes, Tretinoin, which is a retinoid, not retinol.
Retinol's more diluted.
Retinoid is the one-two punch.
Great for the wrinkles around the eyes.
What I don't do is take the retinoid and put it on my neck.
Skin is too thin and sensitive.
So you can continue with just a regular moisturizer.
I do tap it on my chest.
Right now I'm covered in a robe,
but you can take that retinoid,
you can put a little bit on your chest as well,
all the things.
That's it.
And I use my Lansin-O.
Yes, this is nipple cream.
When I was a pregnant mother,
I discovered this fabulous, amazing product
and I also discovered it makes for an amazing lip balm.
So if you're new to my channel,
you're going to think I'm a weirdo.
And if you've been here for a really long time,
you're going to be like, wow, she still does that.
Yeah, I do.
Nothing beats this stuff.
It's like a thick layer of goop.
And I wake up in the morning
and my lips still have the thick layer of goop sealed.
They're absolutely sealed.
There's the skincare routine for nighttime.
Let's go to bed and start it all over tomorrow
and see what I add to the equation.
Okay, good night.
Well, good morning.
First of all, I consulted the Oracle
after I recorded yesterday.
Oracle as in Chachapiti.
It's C to fill.
I'm sure everybody's already been typing in C, E,
with a long E, C to fill.
Foaming face wash, skin redness.
I used that this morning.
So I have a clean slate and my morning routine
is going to be eerily similar to my nighttime routine,
except the difference is the mix-in is glycolic acid.
And this is one that I get from Marjorie Nigro's office,
Dr. Nigro, and it's at 15% glycolic.
I know I'm going to get hit with a lot of questions.
Stay with me to the end because I'm going to answer
as many of those as I possibly can.
But same concept,
and I'm using the Hay Honey Cream for calming.
And it's interesting because all of these things
from the glycolic to the retinoid, these are irritants.
They will make your skin red.
They will create exfoliation.
You will peel.
So I love having a moisturizer that really helps
with the redness and the irritation.
So they sort of counterbalance in a way.
So, okay, same thing.
Just a little bit on my finger, not too much.
A little goes a long way.
My concentrations are higher because I've built up to them.
So if you're just starting on a routine like this,
you will obviously go lower.
And I will also let you know how often I do this
because that's important too.
But same thing, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot.
This one, I don't get too close to the eye area
because it can move in and irritate a little too much.
And the double dot of the honey cream and blend.
Okay, body moisturizer.
I am as dry as a lizard.
Back to Cetaphil.
Again, I'm a drugstore queen.
I can't help myself.
This is the hydrating and firming lotion.
It's great for crepey skin.
But in my opinion, it's not enough.
I like a really good oil too.
And I personally went for the Pura D'Or.
I found this on Amazon.
It's 100% pure and natural organic vegetable glycerin
made from sustainably sourced coconut,
multipurpose skin and hair care,
moisturizes and softens, vegan, cold-pressed,
odorless, and hypoallergenic.
And it's USDA organic.
So this, man, look at the size of this thing.
First of all, and here's the other thing too.
These things will last such a long time.
I use just a little baby pump in with the Cetaphil.
Here we go.
I'm going to do a pump of the Cetaphil.
I'm going to do a half pump of the glycerin.
Rub it together and go.
And I'm going to tell you something.
And I like a good glisten, you guys.
It's 10 in the morning now.
By 10 o'clock at night, I'm still glistening.
I kid you not, it has that kind of staying power.
It's remarkable how soft and moist it keeps the skin
and that dry crepiness,
which I can kind of get right in here and above the knees.
It's just wonderful and so affordable.
And that I just do head to toe.
Well, not head to toe, but let's just say neck to toe.
And the next thing that I will add is just a sunscreen.
Now, I do mineral sunscreen and tinted.
I don't like the chalky white feeling.
I don't like a greasy sunscreen.
I'm super particular.
So One Skin, their OS1 Face Sunscreen has an SPF 30
and it's pure zinc oxide with a tint.
So I will put that on.
And as you can see, it absolutely disappears, which I love.
The tint is just right for me.
I think, you know, for most people,
it's just enough to cut the white out
and then carry more of that down on my chest,
tops of the hands, you know,
all the areas that get sun exposure.
And just a little lip balm, of course, Milansa now,
just to take the edge off and my lips get dry.
So there it is.
That's my basic skincare.
I have learned to listen to my skin.
If I get too aggressive with the Retin-A
and the glycolic acid,
meaning if I'm doing the Retin-A every night
and glycolic every morning,
my skin starts to get red and irritated and itchy.
I simply back off.
I will do every other day.
Listen to your skin.
It will tell you what it can handle and what it can't.
I will not do these things prior to a vacation
where I know I'm going to get sun exposure
because it makes you sun sensitive.
So you have to be careful with that.
I'm diligent when I go for my walks and I'm outside,
I have my hat on and I protect my face and my skin.
And yeah, that's just really all
that you have to be concerned about is just sun exposure
because you are removing these extra excess layers of skin
and you're getting down to baby skin
and it's going to be sensitive to the sun.
So just FYI there.
Questions that I may get.
I have, let's see, I do Botox every four to six months,
which has helped.
I have not done any strong ablative lasers.
I know I've had questions about that.
I've never done any of that.
I've never had a chemical peel.
I mean, look, I'm doing my chemical peels
right here at home.
I'm burning my skin in the comfort of my bathroom.
So I don't need to do the fire red engine
chemical peel thing.
I have not done that.
The only thing I have done is an IPL and a BBL,
which is just a little stronger IPL,
a little intense pulse light for my face,
for the rosacea and for sunspots.
And I'll come in a little bit closer and you can see,
I mean, it's two tiny little dots
is kind of what I'm left with right here.
And I don't know how well you can see those on camera.
I get rosacea there.
And I just, like I mentioned earlier,
it's just dots as little pustules
and I'll get some spots right here
inside the inner corner of the eye.
Generally exacerbated when it's hot outside
and I'm spending time in the heat.
But I will say that with this system
and with the IPL that I've done,
it has helped immensely with my rosacea.
I do not have red patches or blotches.
So it's very manageable and controlled
and also easily covered with makeup too.
Oh, oh, oh, where can you get these things?
Hello, the obvious.
So you need a dermatologist,
you need a prescription for the tretinoin
and the glycolic acid.
I know Marjorie sells out of her pharmacy.
So I'm going to put a link to NigroDerm's website.
And if you want to order the glycolic acid,
you can get it from her, she will ship.
The tretinoin has to be by prescription
and I know she does telemedicine.
So I'm just going to put her information in there.
Or if you have a great dermatologist at home
who you like and trust,
then you can get your derm to prescribe for you tretinoin
and you can pick it up at your local Walgreens
or whichever pharmacy.
So there are always ways to do that.
GoodRx oftentimes has coupon codes for tretinoin.
So you may be able to get the price down.
But I will tell you, my tretinoin,
this is almost six months old.
That's how long it lasts
because you're literally just doing a pea-size amount.
So if you think about it, 80, a hundred bucks
every six months, dang, that's pretty cheap, right?
So it's all pretty affordable.
Like I said, what matters is the base,
the retin-A, the glycolic acid,
whatever you choose to mix it with.
If you're a clean beauty person,
the fewer ingredients, the better.
I hear you.
I find, you know, drugstore can work great.
Even Marjorie says,
get drugstore stuff, don't spend the money.
She's a huge fan of Cetaphil,
now that I know how to say it.
So yeah, this is my updated skincare routine.
It's so simple and so easy.
I hope I answered any questions that you may have had.
If you have any more,
you can always leave them in the comment section.
And of course, when Marjorie's coming up,
I believe in October,
I'll reach out to you guys on social media.
So please make sure you're following me
on Instagram, Facebook,
and we will solicit questions from you guys
to be able to ask the doctor
because it's always such a great segment
to be able to tackle your skincare needs.
And I love being able to have her do that for you.
And she personally enjoys that as well.
But my skincare routine literally comes
from my dermatologist who said,
hey, this is what you need to do.
And it's that easy.
And I think overall, you know,
my skin is doing okay.
So I'm happy.
Thanks for this request.
I appreciate it.
I hope you're having a great week.
Thank you for being with me.
Be bold, be blessed,
take care of your skin,
and I'll see you next time.
Bye-bye.
