Straight Underglaze Sgrafitto carving.

I usually mix underglaze with slip 50/50 which adds body to the surface layer, creating more texture to the carving. In this example we are using pure underglaze from Pottery Supply House based in Ontario over their white Stoneware clay 516. This makes it easier to carve into the clay surface, reducing the risk of stress on the wrists, which is a major risk with Carpel Tunnel syndrome. As a bonus there is a kiln unloading at the end.
