What's going on Sports Wars? This is Ryan with RKOutpost and GeeksandGamers.com,
and it looks like some NFL players are finally starting to wake up to the woke
nonsense that is infesting their league. And the story we're going to talk about today
involving the Steelers and the criminal they decided to put on the backs of their helmets
is staggering. The fact that no one did any research, that they just slapped these things
on the back of their helmets without thinking twice, except for one player who decided to
cover it over and put the name of a true hero on the back, of course, Alejandro Villanueva.
We will talk about him as well, but this story right here, I hope this blows up.
Clay Travis, Steelers lineman Marquise Pouncey says he will remove the name from the back of
his helmet after he learned the man the Steelers were honoring on their helmets committed a drive
by shooting in Pittsburgh. This is insanity. What were the Steelers thinking? This sounds like it's
up. This sounds like it would be something that's fake news. This is legitimate. This is the name
that people are wearing on the backs of their helmets, but I guess it shouldn't really be a
surprise considering everyone freaking out over Jacob Blake honoring a man who has repeatedly
assaulted women. Not a surprise for the NFL, not a surprise for these players to do that.
But like I said, Marquise Pouncey has evidently woken up. Now he put out this big statement.
We're going to take a look at it, and it's all about Antoine Rose. Antoine Rose is the name
that was on the backs of all of these players' helmets, and evidently Marquise Pouncey didn't
know all the details, and he said that is not going to happen anymore. Steelers Marquise Pouncey
inadvertently supported a cause, placing Antoine Rose's name on his helmet. And here, listen to
this statement. I was given limited information on the situation regarding Antoine, and I was
unaware the whole story surrounding his death and what transpired during the trial following the
tragedy. The Steelers organization chose to wear Rose's name on the backs of their helmets as part
of the NFL's social justice initiative. Jason Whitlock announced what Pouncey may not have
been told by the Steelers. And now look at this. Look at this. Jason Whitlock tweets this out.
I'm not advocating for anything. I'm providing facts and context. I believe 30 minutes before
encountering police, Rose was the trigger man in a drive-by shooting. The police were trying
to arrest him for shooting when he fled. It's context. And that is true. You have eyewitnesses
who know him that had a beef with him that said he is the one that pulled the trigger. That is why
the police were looking for him. That is why he tried to run away, because he knew that he had
committed a drive-by shooting. These are the names that the NFL is having these players put on their
backs and saying, we must end racism. It takes all of us to end racism. Trying to virtue signal. And
they're finally saying enough is enough. How many other Steelers are going to join him? How many
other people in the NFL are going to be brave enough, not be scared, not fall down to their
knees in fear, but instead stand up and saying, this is absolute garbage. Take this name off my
helmet. Let's continue to read on. On the night. Here it is. Here's how the Steelers described it.
Look what the Steelers did, but look at what they left out. On the night of June 19th, 2018,
the car Antoine Rose Jr., who is black, of course, you got to put that in there, right? Because
that's the only reason you care about him, right? NFL was a passenger and was pulled over by the
East Pittsburgh police while the driver was being handcuffed on suspicion of being involved in an
accident. A frightened Rose fled from the car. The cell phone video of bystander captured shows
Rose running. Then you can hear gunshots and see it was fatally shot in the back three times by a
white police officer. Again, this there's the reason that these things are here are because
we're only outraged when this thing happens. When a white man is killed by a black man,
nobody cares. When a white man is killed by a white man, nobody cares. When a black man is
killed by a black man, nobody cares. But as soon as a white police officer shoots a black criminal,
then it becomes a big deal. The Steelers failed to mention deeper details surrounding the case,
such as the victim in the drive-by incident told investigators it was Rose who shot at him.
The beef was between me and him. That car came by. He shot me.
I ran to the store. Police found a nine millimeter handgun in his pocket and another
Glock was found under the seat with 16 rounds in a 17 round magazine and get this gunshot residue
found on Rose's hands. Bottom line, listen, you're innocent to proven guilty. Of course,
should he have been shot and killed? Probably not. But guess what? This man is a piece of trash.
This man committed a drive-by shooting, yet you are trying to honor him in some sort of weird
woke virtue signal. This is why people are tuning out of the NFL. The Steelers are absolutely
disgusting. This is ridiculous. Now, Pouncey is not the only Steeler. Alejandro Villanueva,
another offensive lineman, he probably knew all this. Before the game, he decided to cover it up
with tape and write the name of a Silver Star awardee who died in Iraq. Take a look at this.
Alwyn Cash on the back of his helmet awarded a Silver Star for heroism. You can see it looks
right there. He taped over it and wrote it and a lot of people freaked out. How dare he do this?
How dare he not honor the black criminal that we all wanted him to honor? These people are so
disgusting. This is what Pouncey goes on to say. I inadvertently inadvertently supported a cause of
which I did not fully comprehend the entire background of the case. I take responsibility
for not doing more investigating into something that is sensitive to the community and his family,
but it is a lesson learned as it relates to political issues that occur every day in our
society. The Steelers, look at this. The Steelers have chosen to wear Rose's name on the back of
their helmet for the entire season, but Pouncey says he will not be. Is this going to cause any
tension? That's really my question. Now you have two guys who are standing up saying,
we're not going to wear the name of this criminal on the back of our helmets. What are the Steelers
going to do? Are they going to let them get away with it? Are you going to let them express
themselves or are they going to crack down on this? This story is crazy and I think it's a good
thing. It's a good thing to see these players starting to push back against the woke narrative
because one, they probably know that it's turning a lot of people off and two, they know that it's
absolutely despicable to be honoring these types of people. Do I think that a lot of people they're
talking about in this situation, Antoine Rose, Jacob Blake, do I think that they should have
been shot? I don't know. I wasn't there. I can't tell you, but I do know we shouldn't be holding
them up as some sort of symbol to rally towards about ending racism. No, these people are criminals.
We should not be honoring them this way. Let me know your thoughts about all this craziness in
the comments below. Do you think the Steelers are going to take this name off their helmets? Do you
think they're going to do the right thing or are they going to continue to stand up for this dude
who committed a drive-by shooting? Smash a like button, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell
