Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe Pittsburgh Steelers are aggressively addressing roster shortages due to a wave of injuries, most notably by poaching cornerback Terrell Smith from the Washington Commanders' practice squad. Along with other recent signings, the team is struggling with a decimated secondary and offensive line as they prepare for their upcoming Sunday game.
Today's Pittsburgh Steelers have made more signings and in what has been the most eventful
week of the season thus far, the Steelers continue to make moves this time, making an
interesting signing, bringing in another cornerback.
We're going to break down exactly who they signed, discuss what it means going forward
as well as a ton of other updates following today's practice ahead of the game this upcoming
Sunday.
There is a lot to discuss today.
Aaron Rodgers revealing the truth behind him and Mike McCarthy's interaction, some injury
updates.
You're going to want to stay tuned to the very end of the video before we get into it
all.
Very quick reminder to hit that subscribe button.
You guys have been an absolute beast of support and it truly means the world to me every single
day.
Folks, boys, there are a lot to discuss on this episode.
I want to start with a signing that just went down and we're going to dive into Mike McCarthy
and Aaron Rodgers in a minute.
So stay tuned for that.
You can see here the Steelers have officially and reportedly added Terrell Smith.
And this has been an insane, insane day.
Like this is the third signing that they made.
Of course, they signed, or second signing, they signed KJ Henry earlier today.
Obviously, Sean Murphy bunting.
What you see here, the Pittsburgh Steelers have poached cornerback Terrell Smith off
of the Washington Commanders practice squad.
And the first thing you might be thinking is, OK, who's Terrell Smith?
We'll dive into that in a minute.
But keep in mind, he now has to be on the team for a minimum of three weeks following
when you poach somebody off of another team's practice squad.
So now they got Sean Murphy bunting.
You get Terrell Smith.
You get so many guys.
They're going to have to make even more moves after this one.
But it's interesting because they did, you know, SMB, Sean Murphy bunting, but they need
even more depth.
Like that's how crazy this team has kind of gotten at this point.
Let's dive into his experience.
He was a 2023 fifth round pick out of Minnesota with the Vikings.
He's played 26 games, started six all with Chicago, 68 tackles, 10 passes defended and
one interception.
And he stopped playing in 2024, went down with some injuries and has kind of been bouncing
around ever since.
So a lot of practice squad moves today.
And I know a lot of you guys are probably saying, you know, Nick, where are the actual
big moves?
I would say Sean Murphy bunting is fairly not big, but he has a ton of experience.
These guys are probably and the reason I'm covering them so often, these guys are probably
going to get run like they're probably going to play some games.
It's just the way that this team is.
And it's also the way that, you know, I mean, the Steelers are completely decimated with
injuries right now.
And their secondary is extremely, extremely weak.
Now, how ready is Terrell Smith to actually get into action?
He missed all 2025 with a torn patellar tendon.
He joined Washington's practice squad in September, so last month, and now he's joining the active
roster because again, he was poached from the other team's practice squad.
And of course, his immediate role has not been confirmed to discuss yet because this
move literally just happening a couple hours ago.
So comment down below what your thoughts are on this.
And usually this would be not a huge deal, but when we look at the moves that they've
continued to make over the past few days, past couple of weeks with Jamal Dean being
out with Derek Harmon now being placed on the IR.
There are just now obviously, you know, Herman's not a cornerback, but with all the injuries,
it starts to add up and you need more depth.
And there's another tippet to this I quickly want to dive into before we do, you can trade
on whether or not you think the Steelers are going to make the playoffs and you can do
so on Cal.
So you can trade yes or no.
If you trade yes on the Steelers making the playoffs, you have that faith that I'm sure
a lot of you guys don't.
There's 30% chance means $25 wins you over $80.
And this video is brought to you by Cal sheet.
We're on the couch.
You're trading directly against other users, not the house, like traditional sports books.
You're buying yes or no contracts and the outcome of events across sports politics,
or even the weather.
And again, there's tons of examples.
You can see one here.
So folks, if you're interested in trying out Cal sheet, make sure to check out the link
down below in the description, and as well as the pinned comment and use code digest
NFL to get $55 added to your account instantly.
When you trade your first 25, that is code digest NFL $25 traded to $55.
Yes.
$55 instantly.
Okay, let's get back into the news.
So obviously also quickly kind of show you guys this in case you missed earlier.
They also signed defensive end KJ Henry earlier today.
If you want to learn more about him, check out my video from earlier today.
But that is now two different names.
They've gotten ahead of the, you know, big game on Sunday.
How much is Terrell Smith going to play?
We're going to have to wait and see, but comment down below where you guys are kind of falling
with this signing.
Do you think it's just something that, you know, it is what it is.
He's not going to play.
Or do you think this is a name that is going to get a decent bit of opportunity?
A lot of it comes down to injuries because you look at the team now, right in cornerback
position.
You have Jamel Dean.
You have, of course, well, Jamel Dean's hurt for the couple weeks of how much is a couple
weeks.
You have Asante Samuel Jr.
You have, of course, Dalen Everett, the standout rookie outside of that, like you're looking
at depth pieces.
And that's exactly where Terrell Smith falls in.
And there's a reason I think that they poached him off of the practice squad because or and
keep in mind with these, you know, two or three weeks, we have to keep him on the team
after poaching the practice squad.
The more interesting part about that is that lines up with where Jamel Dean will probably
start to return.
And yeah, that makes it interesting, especially also, I do want to kind of quickly dive into
the latest Deshaun Elliott.
He reports progress at the ankle.
There is an evaluation planned for tomorrow, and this is regarding Jamel Dean, and there's
no week five clearance.
So it doesn't look like Jamel Dean is going to be playing this upcoming week.
We'll know more tomorrow.
And with him, you know, between Dean, between Deshaun Elliott, who's been making progress
as well, who had a good workout last Wednesday, guys are slowly but surely coming around.
But neither of them are going to be available.
It looks like this upcoming Sunday, which makes things that much more interesting, especially
with Jalen Ramsey remaining at safety, which is probably why they went out and got another
cornerback and continue to add there.
We do have a lot of other things to go over today, and it is it's kind of interesting.
So I want to start with Max Einacher, right?
And there were some comments today from Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers, everyone on Einacher.
He had his worst start.
He's had a couple of bad starts here.
He's very, very good.
I think he's going to be perfectly fine.
But you can see right here, it was an interesting tidbit from Traxxas.
He got pushed back a couple of times in Aaron Rodgers lap, talking about how he was kind
of dominated by the D-line of a couple of teams.
However, I want to dive into this here.
I think that's something that can be easily corrected.
And I want to ask you guys, where do you guys currently stand surrounding Max Einacher?
Do you think he's somebody that, you know, will be fine going forward?
Do you think it's just a little bit of a rough patch?
At the end of the day, he still had a very, very good rookie season or rather rookie opening
game.
The whole O-line is bad, right?
The whole team is playing poorly, and I think they do need to add to the O-line as well.
But I think Max Einacher is going to be perfectly fine.
A couple other tidbits as well here.
Brandon Echols, he remains questionable for the game on Sunday.
Rico Donald remains out and Jalen Ramsey remains not only available with his broken wrist,
but remaining at safety.
So these are kind of the big updates.
And again, no clearance for Jamel Dean, which is a little bit unfortunate because, you know,
if there was a world where he could have started to more this Sunday, that would probably mean
that they didn't do the Smith signing.
But yeah, it's exciting.
The final thing I want to dive into here is the Rodgers talks, and it's going to be short
and sweet.
He was asked basically about the conversation he had with Mike McCarthy, if there's tension
there.
And there's obviously been a lot of conversation because it kind of went viral when they swore
at each other.
Mike McCarthy called him an a-hole, XYZ.
And Rodgers had something similar to say, and he said that they had numerous talks over
the weekend and they were able to sit down and talk, which is pretty funny.
And there's also been a lot of discourse about the clean our house conversation for Pat Fryman.
It was, listen, there is, I understand why there's drama.
There does not need to be.
Things are going to be fine for now.
We'll see how the team goes.
Also, literally one minute ago here, I'm reading it now.
So Terrell Smith was obviously signed KJ Henry was signed to Terrell Smith is playing in
the active roster.
Braden Swinson was released from the practice squad.
So those are all the moves, full tibetan move to get everybody active.
