Spring Football for the Benjamin Russell Wildcats.
The team is loaded with talent like QB1, Alabama Commit Kingston Preyear and Defensive End, Georgia Tech commit Kalib Spivey. It was fun having D1 recruiters at practice everyday along with former Benjamin Russell greats like Cederian Morgan and Malcolm Simmons.
This was Collin's last high school spring football since he will be a senior in the class of 2027. He has continued to improve with both his kicking (primary role) but also with his punting. Excited to see him kick and punt this coming season.
Gavin will be a 10th grader and has continued to improve as a receiver. We constantly work on his speed, strength, route running, and his hands. It's fun to see his labor paying off and him getting reps with the 1's during spring practice! Proud of both boys and thought they both had a great spring. Both still have lots of work to do to continue to improve and achieve the goals they have. So we will keep working and hope you will continue to follow their journeys!

Collin's still helping out the freshman over here learning how to kick.
He's never kicked before.
Trying to learn the steps and where to kick the ball
and how to kick the ball.
There you go, G.
Get upfield.
Six of the kicks from Coles.

Monday, week two of spring football.
The boys have been doing good. Hoping they'll keep it up.
And then we have the spring game on Friday.
Let's go watch them start week two.
Let's go.
King is jumping coach.
He didn't throw it to Gavin on a wide-open play.
He says he's got a poor coach now.
Woo!
You got to do a lot. Fumble the ball.
Okay, white chocolate.
It's Malcolm.
No way.
My boy in the house.
Surprise, surprise.
Look at this guy.
Oh, and he's got the
great army socks on.
My long-lost son finally
returned.
Man, I have been missing
you, Malcolm. Oh,
it's good to see you, brother.
You're from Texas, huh?
So how's old Texas Tech?
You like it out there?
Where is Texas Tech?
Lubbock.
Good or no good? Nothing.
How far is it from Dallas and Fort Worth?
Five, four inches.
That far?
Cooper going to give it a try.
Cooper getting some kicks in.
Young Daxon.
Going to give it a shot here.
Hey, he made it.
Alright, we're going to practice the long
six. So it's
47, 52
and 60
yard
left post and right post.
Good kick.
Got Malcolm playing defense.
It's good.
Malcolm, you coming over for dinner tonight? What you got going?
Oh, you're going back already?
Yeah, my dad
coming tonight.
You know I can always do them smash burgers.
Let me know.
You coming back
tomorrow?
Oh, got the win.
60!
That a boy.
Alright, 60 from the
right side.
Pulled it a little bit.
52
right side.
Oh, crossbar.
No win today.
Well, there's actually a little bit of win, but I think
there was more win he was kicking into yesterday.
There we go, there we go.
Yes sir.
Got a little brother
returning this time.
Big kick.
That a boy, Colin. That was
68, 69.
Cooper kicking to Gavin. Get there,
Gavin.
My gosh.
Malcolm, you still got those punts?
Alright, let's see
them bombs.
Malcolm's a little
rusty on his punting, but he's still got it.
It's Friday, and it is time for the
spring scrimmage game. It's the inner squad,
so it's just defense versus offense.
Offense will be in white. Defense will be on maroon.
So Gavin and Colin both will be in the white.
Colin kicking. Gavin being receiver.
Let's get a little taste of what this next season's
going to look like. Let's go BR.
Good job, Eli.
Nice.
Alright, let's hit this 50, Colin.
I think he licked up.
Get another shot. This is actually from
41, so it'll be 51. Come on, Colin.
Yes, sir!
51 is good!
Speed out.
Turn up.
Shoot.
35 yards.
Come on, Colin.
Good job.
It's good.
Gavin's about to return. Colin's kickoff.
Gavin, throw it on this side.
Oh my gosh, nobody was even covering Gavin.
This is it.
Oh.
Oh, not so good.
Over the building.
Colin's gonna
kick off to Gavin again.
Actually, maybe another person going back.
Oh, it was short.
Get there, Gavin. Come up, come up.
Cooper in for the extra point this time.
Oh, he missed. No.
It was right.
Did he pull it?
No, he did pull it.
Dang.
Underneath. There it is. There it is.
Oh my gosh.
Here we go.
Defense got the win.
Subscribe. My man, Murr Squad. Let's go.
Let's go. Let's go.
Shout out to the boys.
