Hi friends, welcome back to the channel. My name is Addison, if you are new here. So tonight
we're just going to spend some time together. We're just going to do a fall evening vlog.
I really don't have too much going on tonight. I really just want to get cozy and do some relaxing.
I also have this amazing soup that I would like to try. It looks so delicious. It's like a creamy
chicken soup. So we're going to make that. I just took the dogs out on a walk. That's why
Excited to try this. I cannot wait. It looks and smells delicious. I feel like this is the
perfect fall soup. Goodness, let me see. There's a lot of stuff in here. Very delicious. I would
say it's like a very hearty soup. I will have it linked down below. And this is from, what is it,
Half Baked Harvest. I found this on Pinterest, but love it. And it's actually super easy to make as
well. I feel like this is the perfect fall soup. Oh my goodness. So I'm thinking for the rest of
the night, I want to take a bath. I want to do some reading. I have some books on my nightstand
that I would like to switch out with some more like fall themed books. So we'll do that. I need
to do a tidy of the house before I go to sleep. And we'll just see what we get into. I just want to
relax, spend time with the puppies. I'm loving all the clips that I'm getting with the dogs.
They're so cute. And as you can see, Oscar and Finley just really love each other. Sometimes
Theo gets annoyed with Finley just because of the puppy energy, but everyone just loves each
other. So I just really do enjoy watching them. They specifically get very hyper at night.
I will say sometimes it's a bit overwhelming because at around like eight or nine, Finley
just starts to lose it. So I will try to get some clips of that. I have started to turn on all the
lamps and lights in my home. I lit some candles and I'm just loving the way that it is feeling.
This is like my favorite thing with fall is just all of the coziness. So really going to lean into
that tonight, but I'm going to finish up dinner and then we will see what we get into. I thought
we could go through my bookshelves and I kind of want to put together a fall TBR. I have a few
things that I've been thinking about reading this fall. One of them is The Secret History
by Donna Tartt. I've heard so many good things about this. So I want to read this. I also have
my fall personal curriculum coming out soon. I think I'm going to do a video on that, like
fall planning, fall inspiration to kind of get you in the mood for the fall season.
And I will have a book list on there as well. I think that might be my next video that I'm
going to film, but let's see what else. I think I'm going to add Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks
to the list. I've already read Anne of Green Gables, but I do want to read it again. That's
also on my list. The Picture of Dorian Gray. I've heard such great things about this book.
And that's actually on my list. Let me see. I have some of my little fall TBR. Oh my goodness.
The dogs are playing. So it is quite loud in here. No more. Finley, you need to relax. This is what
I was saying. Like once it gets a little bit later on in the night, Finley just absolutely
loses his mind. So, and I feel so bad for Oscar because I can tell that Oscar definitely gets
annoyed sometimes, but they really do love to play. I just think Finley can be a lot. Okay guys.
So I kind of shared a few, but I'm going to leave, I think it's on my last summer TBR, so I'm going
to leave A Wrinkle in Time and the second book in the golden compass up here. But I added The
Turn of the Screw, The Unmaking of June Farrell by Adrienne Young. I picked out The Picture of
Gothic Tales by Elizabeth Gaskell. So I think this is going to be very fun to read, especially
in like October. And then I wanted to quickly share with you guys a few books that I've been
loving. And it's so funny because I do find myself reading multiple books at a time, just because
if I'm not in the mood for one, I can just move on to the other. Finley, no more barking.
No, Finley. So I've actually been enjoying reading some marriage books and I really
love this one by Paul David Tripp. It's just called Marriage, Six Gospel Commitments Every
Couple Needs to Make. And I really did enjoy Paul David Tripp's books. I, no, Finley. I read,
oh my gosh, I read his devotional and then also Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands. I just love
the way he writes. It is, I don't know, it's just really easy to digest and it's really convicting.
And then Hannah's Children, The Women Quietly Defying the Birth Dearth, Catherine Ruth Pakalov,
I don't know how to say that. But I saw this on Pinterest and I thought it sounded really
interesting. And then this is so random, but I really do love to visit the library and just
pick out a few things. And I've kind of, oh my gosh, I've kind of been feeling like I've been
in a bit of a reading rut. So I love to just kind of browse the young adult section and see what
they have because I find that young adult books are super easy to read and enjoy. And I just need
a break sometimes. So I found this book. This is an older book. It's called The Astonishing Life
of Octavian Nothing by M.T. Anderson. This was published in 2006, I believe. It is just a really
random book. But when I read the blurb inside, I was like, you know what, this really sounds
interesting. So I picked it up and I'm really enjoying it. I think I'm like, what, like 75 pages
in. So really enjoying this. Super random. And I really do love that about myself is that I really
will just read anything. I don't know. I just like to branch out a lot. So those are what I am
currently reading. Let me know what you guys are reading this fall season. I just love to see what
other people pick out. And like I mentioned before, I will be posting my fall personal curriculum
with a book list on it as well. My home is so cozy. I just love the fall season. I know I say
it so many times, but I just love that cozy home feel. I am such a homebody and I'm just really
excited for the darker days and just more cozy time inside. I made myself a cup of tea. I think
this is like chamomile and I want to say like peppermint or something. But I thought I would
just sit with you guys and do a bit of chatting because I feel like my last few vlogs were just
more fall themed. So I didn't really get to sit with you guys and just chat. So that's what we're
going to do. Yeah, I feel like life has been very busy recently, but all good stuff. I'm now going
on about six months of trying to do the whole YouTube thing and then my snail mail club. And I
will say that has been extremely difficult for me. It's just the transition. I've always worked
a job outside of the home. I, you know, have always worked for someone else.
And I think it's definitely been a bit difficult being home all the time and also just being my
own boss and, you know, creating my own schedule. But I have been enjoying it. I'm not sure if at
some point I will try to maybe transition into a part-time job. I'm not sure. But so far I've
really been enjoying it. I have really been enjoying the snail mail club and sending you
guys letters and paper goods every single month. I will have it linked down below if you're
interested in signing up. But I think most importantly what I wanted to update you guys on
is just life in general. If you don't know, I think it was about six months ago that I started
to post on YouTube again. And at that point I was going through a divorce and it was very difficult
for me. And it was just a really dark season in my life. And I'm very happy to say that I'm finally
out of that season and things are really looking up for me. I am actually dating, which I feel like
is absolutely insane and very, it happened very quick, but I felt really prepared and ready.
I know it's different for everybody and I feel like I'm pretty slow to talk about personal
things on this channel, but I do want to share more because I think it can be very helpful.
And I know that when I went through my whole divorce process in the beginning, I kind of
explained a few things to you guys when I started posting again. I thought it was so helpful to hear
from you guys and just all the encouragement that you provided. And hopefully I can be
an encourager to someone out there that I think when you're going through a rough season, it can
be very difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And I just want to say that life can
change so quickly. I think that's what I've learned this whole process is sometimes we find
ourselves in places that we really don't like, and it's very uncomfortable. It can be very painful,
but I would say just be so hopeful that, I mean, you don't know how quickly life can change. I mean,
within a week, something could change. You could change a job. You could change where you live.
I mean, so much can happen. And I think that that's what I'm realizing with just life in general.
I think going through what I went through was obviously just a really dark time in my life.
And I feel like I'm now in a place where I feel more consistent with things and even just like
joy in general. I feel like it's just more consistent and I'm trying to find my groove
with everything. I'm really focusing on the small things in life and being very intentional
with the way that I live life. I think that's why I love to focus so much on seasons and the
changing of seasons. I feel like it just really encourages me and it gives me something to look
forward to. And I think naturally we do need to follow the process of seasons. I feel like with
summer, it's a very lively season and it's just a very abundant season. And then as you get into
fall and winter, the days get darker and you're spending more time inside, being more reflective,
slowing down a lot. I feel like this summer, I definitely just, I don't know, I was running
around a lot, but also enjoying myself. So I'm really excited to get into the more peaceful
months of fall and winter. And I have a lot of things that I want to get into this fall season.
I have created a bucket list and I've also, like I mentioned before, I've done a fall personal
curriculum. So I feel like I have a really good set of goals that I want to complete this fall
season. And I do love how at the end of summer, I'm always in the mood or like ready for the fall
season. Cause I guess we all get exhausted from the hot summer months. And so I'm just ready for
coziness and the cooler weather. I've really been enjoying going outside in the mornings and reading
my Bible and praying and just hanging out. And I'm also thinking that I want to do a little
mini porch makeover for the fall season. You guys know I have my garden right now,
and that's kind of slowing down a lot since, you know, the change in the sun and some of
the plants are not doing that great just because I think the sun has shifted a bit,
but I thought it'd be fun at some point to kind of add a few pumpkins and mums, and I might move
that table back onto the porch, just another spot for me to sit and do my reading in the morning
and also in the evening. Cause I would like to continue sitting outside in the colder months.
I think that'd be really nice. But yeah, I think overall life has been very sweet recently,
and I just want to encourage somebody that if you've been through something hard in your life,
it can change so quickly. And I love that it's only a season, you know, hard times,
it's only a season that you will move through hopefully quickly. And then you have a different
season to look forward to. And I think it's important to recognize what season you're in.
And I think that's what I'm trying to do now and just pay attention more in my life and like,
what do I need to be doing and focusing on in this season of my life? And yeah, I think that that's
kind of what I wanted to share with you guys. I am just, yeah, I'm really loving the change of
season and I hope to do a lot this fall season. I think I'm now going to do a bit of reading.
I feel like I didn't really do a lot tonight, but I don't know. I feel like I was really leaning into
the coziness and just all the little lights. And I hope you guys really enjoyed this type of video.
I know it's probably on the shorter side because I really didn't do too much, but I think I'm now
going, like I said, to do some reading. I'm going to drink my tea and maybe do some journaling.
This is my journal. I think I showed this to you guys in a few like vlogs ago. I got this journal
from HomeGoods. It's like a nice leather bound journal. And I, I feel like I say this so much,
but journaling has been so helpful for me. I just find that it's so nice to look back on previous
times in your life and you see like how far you've come. I would highly suggest journaling. I've
recently kind of gone back into my old journals and I'm just like, wow, I have really come so far.
I've really been trying to make it a point to journal every day or at least every other day.
That is my goal for this fall season is to journal a lot. And it's just very helpful for me. I don't
try to be too specific with journaling. I really just journal what's on my mind or maybe like
goals or like things that I want to get better in, prayers, all that sort of stuff. So that's
been super helpful. I would highly suggest that. And something that I would also like to do is I
would also like to start writing on my blog. If you don't know, I have a blog and I used to write
pretty consistently on there, but I feel like I've been pretty busy the past few months. So I want
to get started back up in that again. I just, I don't know. It's just another way to be creative.
I do want to say, if you have any ideas on what you would like me to post on this channel,
feel free to leave some ideas in the comments below. I have so many great ideas for fall,
like for videos. And I definitely want to do a like fall cook with me. I have a few
fall inspired dinner parties that I want to plan. Yeah, I just, I'm very excited guys. And also on
my list that I want to do here soon is I want to go to an apple orchard. There are so many apple
orchards around me. So I would like to make that a point to go there with like a friend or something.
I have a birthday coming up next month. So yeah, I'm just very excited for life. This fall season
is just such a fabulous time and I'm here for it. So let me know if you have any suggestions
for anything, but I think that is going to be it for tonight. I've had such a cozy night with
you guys. Thank you so much for watching and I will see you in the next video. Bye.
