Slane Lhiu, Vanannan: Bunscoill Ghaelgagh Summer Play, 2026

The Manx Gaelic musical, 'Slane Lhiu, Vanannan,' performed by the children of the Manx medium primary school, the Bunscoill Ghaelgagh.
The story follows a misunderstanding between Manannan and his beloved horse, Enbarr, at the moment when Christianity arrives in the Isle of Man with the rapping saints, Patrick and Maughold.
Why has Enbarr ran away? Who can help Manannan find him? - Perhaps the fishermen, the buggane or tailor, St. Bridget, Finn McCooill, the Mooinjer Veggey, Caillagh ny Faashagh, or the Phynodderee...?
The play, with its original songs, are written by Aalin Clague & Annie Kissack RBV.
It is entirely in Manx Gaelic and it incorporates both traditional and composed Manx music, as well as a treasure trove of the Island's traditional folklore.
It will be a treat for anyone, whether a fluent Manx speaker or not!
The Bunscoill Ghaelgagh is the only school in the world where children are taught their lessons solely in Manx Gaelic in an immersion setting, which allows children to learn the language fluently.

Generato dall'IAThis transcript consists of a fragmented and highly repetitive series of spoken utterances in Welsh, interspersed with phonetic sounds and nonsensical phrases. It appears to be a recording of casual conversation, vocal experimentation, or a rehearsal, lacking a linear narrative or a formal presentation structure.
