Ship 40 Journey Is Over! Inspection Begins...
SpaceX starts looking inside Ship 40 in pieces; no one expected...
SpaceX Ship 40: EXPOSED!
The most extraordinary journey in modern rocket history has finally come to an end!
From a blazing launch in Texas to an almost unbelievable splashdown in the Indian Ocean, followed by over 11 weeks adrift at sea before finally being hauled back home… Starship 40, the first Starship to survive its journey intact, is now standing upright once again inside Mega Bay 2, ready to be taken apart.
So, how will SpaceX take Ship 40 apart, piece by piece, to uncover its secrets?
And why are these pieces so critical to SpaceX, especially for the next flight?
If nobody is going to tell you, Alpha Tech will…!
After successfully completing its suborbital mission on Flight 13 on July 24 and making a remarkably soft splashdown in the Indian Ocean, Ship 40 survived intact. It then spent approximately 75 to 80 days drifting at sea before finally returning to Starbase.
On October 12, SpaceX lifted Ship 40 upright using its new breakover system and placed it inside Mega Bay 2. For the first time, the company now has a flight-tested Starship that has survived the entire mission and recovery process, providing an invaluable opportunity to study real flight hardware
