SET 5 100% Complete Showdown Playthrough (AL & NL)

MLB The Show just dropped one of the best content bombs of all time. Now granted, unfortunately, there's a lot of overlap with previous players from previous sets, but this is one of the best drops we've gotten all year. Let's jump in. You can get this 4070 Club Ronald Acuna Jr. at 435,000 XP in the XP program. So this is a free to unlock God Squad card, and he's going to be absolutely disgusting. By the way, before we get into this, go hit that thumbs up down below. Let's try to get 500 likes on this video. It is a test. And in your XP Boss Path pack, the disappointing part about this pack is that Ellie, Randy, and Vlad already have had really good 99s this year. I feel like I've played with them so much as is. It's like the biggest issue with overlapping content this year. These cards are absolutely awesome, don't get me wrong. But again, when you've played with better versions of these guys already, it doesn't hit the same. Along with that, we also got Team Affinity, which is going to give us a 99 Retro Finest Diamond and a 99 Current Active Diamond for every single team in the league. And as usual with these Team Affinity grinds, you slide down here, you're going to have a Conquest Map to complete, you're going to have Showdown to complete. There's exchanges, collections, mini season vouchers, moments that you can grind. And then of course, once you get everything done, you got these repeatable PXP grinds to finish it out. I absolutely love the start of a new season where you have this whole checklist of things to do. I just wish the checklist was longer, at least to the point where you could finish it. My biggest critique on Team Affinity this year is that once you fully complete the entire checklist, you're still only at like 50% complete. And then you just got to repeat XP's and mini seasons over and over again. And that part is very boring. But while we're at the fun part of this, just know we have already done the American League Conquest Map. That has me at 20% on each of the AL East, Central, and West. I'm going to finish the NL Conquest Map tonight. Then once we have all of the showdowns and Conquest Maps done, I'll do a variety pack opening. And currently, the pack opening is already looking juicy just from a couple hours of grinding the Conquest Map. Now without further ado, we are going to jump in here. I'm going to complete the National League and the American League showdowns. We're going to play through these entirely right now in this video. We're going to start with the National League. I will take Nolan Jones, Gimme Trey Turner, Jimmy Rollins. I'll grab Michael Conforto. I'll take Francisco Lindor. I guess we'll take Sandberg. That round kind of sucks. And then in the gold round, I'll take Matt Olson. First mini-bosses versus Jesus Lizardo. Take on Marlon's Pitcher. Enter the game down by a run and take the lead before recording 15 outs for a diamond hitter. That should do it. Is that not good? Yeah, that'll do it. All right. A little perfect, perfect into the gap for Matty Olson. That'll walk it off. Let's get on to mini-showdown two. We'll take Freddie Freeman as our diamond bat this round. Mini-boss number two against Freddie Peralta. Enter the game down by two runs with runners on the corners and take the lead before 14 outs. So one home run. We'll get this done. Goodbye, Frankie Lindor. A no-doubter. Next up, I want to grab Adam Dunn. Give me Big Donkey. Take on the Dodgers, Evan Phillips. The game is going to be tied with nobody on. A solo shot will do it. Cranked. That'll do it. Gone. Michael Conforto is nasty. It's one of the retro finest guards I'm excited about. Do Gary Sheffield this round. And next up, we've got to hit Robbie Ray. Enter a tied game and take the lead before recording 12 outs for a diamond batter and perk. Get out of here, ball. Trey Turner with a no-doubter to send us on. Puts us at 10 runs in total. Our diamond bat for winning that one. I'm going to grab... Give me Oz Montegron now. We'll do another switch hitter. Got three more mini-bosses before the final boss. This one's going to give us five runs. Take on Marlins pitcher, AJ Burnett. Down by four runs with the bases loaded. We need a bloop and a blap. Base hit for Francisco Lindor. We've already had a sacrifice fly. That'll make it four-two. A home run will end it now. That ball's going to be ripped down the line and it's going to score two. It'll one-hop the wall. Jorge Soler will make the play. I'm actually going to keep that runner at third. No reason to play around. We've got second and third. And that'll do it. Adam Dunn with a fly ball to center. That's going to be an easy sack fly and we are moving on. Next up, we're going to grab Todd Helton and diamond hero time. More mini-bosses left. We've got to face Justin Steele. Down by a run with a runner on second. Take the lead before recording nine out. Ball's hit well. Runner on second broke on contact, so I'm going to assume that's at least off the wall. It is off the wall. Trey Turner. It'll be an RBI double. Now Jimmy Rollins deep out to left, deep out to left, and that'll do it. That's somehow going to get out of here. Dunzo, one more mini-boss, then we're on to the final. Next round, I'm going to go ahead and take, let's do Matt Holiday. We can use another righty. Final mini-bosses against Spencer Schreider. Enter the game down by three runs with a runner on third and take the lead before recording 13 outs. Trey Turner deep out to right. That ball's hammered. Hit hard. It'll be an extra base hit off the wall. A double for Trey. Now we're a bloop and a blast from being done. Michael Conforto smacks that ball to right. We're going to tag up and go to third here. Ronald's got a hose, but we'll get there. Fly ball to right. Nolan Jones. I need base runners right now. We're going to keep that runner at third actually. Keep Spencer nervous. Okay. Frederick with the no doubter to left center. My goodness. We need one more and we're on to the final boss. There we go. Jimmy. That's going to be foul, isn't it? Did I just get trolled on a foul ball no doubter animation? Come on. Thank you, Jimmy. Oh, and it got into the flower bed. Beautiful. I wasn't sure if it was going to get up or not. Success. We've completed all the mini-bosses. Now we just have to complete the final boss, which is going to require three total runs scored. Let's grab Jazz Chisholm. And in the final boss, we have to face David Bednar. Fastball throwing Pittsburgh Pirate. Let's get these runs. That might potentially be an infield hit. It is an infield hit. Now we need a bloop and a blast. That's a perfect, perfect into the gap. We'll go first to third. I mean, you know what? No. Send him. It's going to be an RBI double. Now we're a homer from being done. Bang. Nolan Jones. Perfect. He hit it to the deepest part of the park, though. It's going to be a double. We need one more hit. And that'll do it. Frederick. Electra building. Freddie Freeman walks us off by putting one in the water. And post-game, for finishing that showdown run, we just unlocked so many packs from the Team Affinity program. So now we've done the American League conquest and the National League showdown. We are at at least 13% for every single division and 20 plus on five out of six. Now let's complete the American League showdown and off-camera, I'm going to complete the National League conquest tomorrow on YouTube. Gigantic variety pack opening. Don't miss it. Let's start this draft for the American League showdown now. We'll start with Devers. I'll take Brent Rooker. Eddie Murray. Mike Napoli. Mike Trout. Easy pick here. Your Don Alvarez. And I'll take Gold Francisco Lindor. And remember, hero time and rally time are the two best perks. If they pop up, take them. First mini boss against pitcher Nathan Evaldi. Enter the game down by a run. Take the lead with 15 out. Spanked. Now we need a granny. Gap. Well, that's going to tie it up. Will be a base hit away from being Don. Well, is it going to tie it up? We probably shouldn't have went. We shouldn't have went. He threw it up the line. Let's go. Okay, your Don lines out. That's not ideal. Frankie. Do it. Our diamond bat for that round. I'll take George Brett. Next mini boss against Emmanuel Clase. Tie game. 11 outs. Get it done. Bang. Mike Trout walks it off. Jose Quintana. Enter the game down by two runs with runners on the corners and take the lead. So we can walk it off with a homer. Okay. Perfect, perfect from Trout to start it off. Trouty is not here for a long time. He's here to get done. Now Eddie Murray deep out to right field. It'll be caught. Which means it'll be a sack fly and we'll need another knock. Get out of here. Look at Nap going the other way. That is a beautiful trajectory. Jim Tomey will be our selection. We'll take gold hero time. Now we have an all diamond lineup. We're going to go up against Royals. We'll enter the game tied and take the lead. 12 outs. And we're done. Brett Rooker. Puts us at 10 runs in total and I'm going to grab Aaron Judd. He also got diamond hero time as our perk there. That's huge. Remember, seventh inning or later applies to the final bosses. Hero time is active throughout the entirety of a final boss. That includes these mini bosses as well. Tom Hakey on the mound. Down by one run with a runner on second. Take the lead before nine outs. All right, so limited outs here and we're down a run. This is not hard, but it's one of the tougher ones they've given us. Let's get it done. Good Lord, Aaron Judd. You didn't have to be disrespectful about it. Take Jose Altuve as our bat in this round. We'll take diamond rally time and diamond hero time is OP. Silver cards are diamond cards. Now the next mini boss, Eduardo Rodriguez. End of the game down by four with the bases loaded and take the lead before recording 12 outs. Oh no. Just not two, Mikey. Just not two. Eddie Murray rips one out to right. It'll be first and second. We can walk it off now. Oh boy. Debbie. Get us tied up with plenty of time to spare. Ew. That's gross. That's a bomb. Fly ball left. That's going to be deep enough to score him. It's also pulling him into the corner and that'll do it for this mini boss. Next up. I'll take Raul Ibanez. Next mini boss. Johan Duran. End of the game down by run with a runner on first and take the lead. No way. Fastball. Middle. One eleven. Perfect. Double play. What a dunk. Eddie Murray nuke. Ah. Good spot. That tail just enough to hit the corner. Okay. Or not. Maybe it will. We will get knocked out of the way. Maybe. Oh my goodness. Brett Rooker. George Brett out to center. That ball really didn't get down. Are you kidding me? We have to start over from the beginning. That was, that was me getting straight up showdown. I'm almost happy that that's in the, in the video though. Cause I know a lot of people can relate to that experience. I'm just going to go ahead and redo this draft, play back up to where we just were and try it again. All right. I just dropped in a couple. I swear this video game, just the RNG flips on and off based on your eyes. RNG. I've ever seen. Nothing is a hit. Unbelievable. Dog. How did that get 89 eggs? Well, this video has just turned into me complaining, but what is going on? I think we just made six straight outs on good swings. Oh my gosh, what is going on? Okay. Rafi Devers. Last three swings are perfect. Perfect. And good squared. One 11, one Oh six and 100 all four outs. Mike Napoli. Now it took a one Oh six. Perfect. Into the gap. The other way. Mike Zanino. Now almost said base hit, but it's going to be a ground out. Runners on third. Now. Yeah. We actually, we almost lost this one, which is crazy. One eternity later. And now finally we are back to the second to last mini boss where we're going to face Kevin Gaussman down by three, 13 outs. Let's go. Well, now we just need one more and we have nine outs to do it. If I lose this one, I'm done. Devers a hundred off the bat, splitter out over the plate off the wall. And now without further ado, we're going to add in all these diamonds. I never added to my lineup cause I've been burning through this and I'm just going to get my favorite cards into the lineup. Tony Clark out of there. I've been struggling. We'll call how homes actually hitting the ball pretty hard. We'll throw judging in there. Let's go see who's the final boss against Bautista final boss is going to be against Felix Bautista. We have 15 outs to score three runs. Let's get it done. Yo, Rafi Devers is a loud out machine, bro, bro. There's no shot. There's literally no way that this is happening right now, bro. I don't even know anymore. This video might end with me not fitting this showdown at this point. This is crazy. Yay, a base in. Let's go. Finally come through. We need one more. Cool. We didn't choke. Yay. So there it is. A ton of packs unlocked postgame, including our first American League affinity boss pack. And now just like that, after just one day's work and we still have one conquest map left, the American League is at 33, 40 and 36%.
