Opening DIAMOND PACKS & Updating Collections For Pack Squads

Welcome back to Pack Squads, we are coming off a huge win in episode 6. And today's episode is a collection update and pack opening episode. We have our packs from the end of that last episode, if you haven't seen it, go check it out. There's a playlist on the channel and all the rules are always in the description box down below. We do have two things to note from that last video. The counter in-game was at 69. I landed at 58 when I counted my packs post-game. I forgot the 10 strikeout bonus. We have landed at 63. We're all caught up. Apologies for that. So we have four gold player packs and 59 standard packs. We're going to rip all of these. And then we have our two diamond premium packs for winning and getting the rage quit in that last episode. We're going to run through those as well. Alex Presley. Do we want to use that? Actually, Clay Holmes has the higher hits for 90. Throws a heavy sinker. We'll just keep him in there. Next gold pack. You'll want to have Duran on the other hand. Throws a little bit too hard to ignore. We'll put him in there. Duran's tough. One more gold player pack. Jeremy Pena. That's not bad. and now 59 standard packs this could take a while let's simulate through it oh hold up that last pack had a supercharged Grayson Rodriguez in it Andres Munoz that Grayson Rodriguez we might have to throw him on the bump okay here we go our first live series diamond it is purple it's a purple live series diamond I'll take anyone we don't have anyone we don't already have it's a Yankee Gary Cole! It's not Aaron Judge, but I will take that. Go ahead and throw him in the rotation for Stroman. But again, we might also squeeze Grayson Rodriguez in there for tomorrow's episode. We are doing another traditional episode of Pack Squads tomorrow. Full gameplay and pack opening. Like a normal episode, but after these packs that we rip right here, we are going to go through every single team in the live series MLB collections. And we're going to see just how far along we are. We are down to our last half dozen of packs. The best pull we've gotten since the diamond was a live series gold Bo Bichette. That could potentially be a diamond at some point, but I'm still looking for Vladdy Jr. and Alec Manoah in the Blue Jays collection, so I know we're not done there. We have two more standard packs, and then we are going to slide over to our collections and get just, let's find out exactly where we are. And as a matter of fact, we also have this all-star reward pack here that we got for leveling up in ranked seasons. Add that to Oscar Hernandez to our roster, and we also have this free burrito pack that they were giving away in the store that isn't going to do anything for us, but I just want to get rid of it. I also unlocked the Topps Now Diamond Choice Pack. We're going to open up this today as one of our two diamond premiums from the last episode. So we're going to rip into this, and we have a choice to make. Do we want to go OG Gangsta Ryan McMahon, who was a pack squad legend from last year? 2021, from 21. Or do we grab an arm like Michael King, who's got the high hits per nine, five pitch mix, really good control of his primary pitches. this would be a really good add to a lackluster bullpen at the moment. I'm sorry, guys. No Ryan McMahon this year. So we're going to put Michael King in the bullpen. The question is, do I want to put him in there for Liam Hendricks, who's pretty hittable? Or do we want to put him in there for Raisel Iglesias, who just... I'm going to take Iglesias out and go with the lowest hits per nine out of the group for now. I've had Liam Hendricks issues in the past. We'll see if it continues before we take him out. And now our second Diamond Premium Pack of the episode is a banger. the pack three around the world world baseball classic choice pack we are either going to get the base round we're most likely going to get this base round of 97s but we could hit the rare round of 99s we have gotten Ohtani this year i would love julio rodriguez for this world series run so let's do exactly let's open this map julio show me 99s it doesn't happen no this one's between Xander Bogaerts and Gleyber Torres for me and i am going to take Xander he's got that 102 clutch so his contact on both sides stays over 100 even with the runners in scoring position whereas Gleyber's contact comes down under 100 on both sides with that 93 clutch plus he's more of a platoon I could legitimately start Xander we're going to grab the 97 Xander we'll throw him in our lineup we will first replace Colton Wong on our bench and then we will slot him in as a starter if we were to start the next episode right now and I am probably going to record it today Xander Bogarts would be going in at shortstop and Manny's actually going to be the one going down on the bench. He unfortunately has a negative 13 righty righty inside edge, so we'll probably use him as a bat off the bench against a lefty. We can maybe even platoon him with someone if we want to. Will Smith is smashing righties right now on third base. We could platoon him with Manny on the hot corner. Trea Turner will slide over to second. We still have several hours on this Adam Duvall supercharged, so you'll probably see him out in center. And pitching for us is going to be between Pablo Lopez, Garrett Cole, and we also have supercharged Sandy in our inventory. We have the supercharged Grayson Rodriguez down here. He's got the plus 40 hits per nine, which gives him a 102 hits per nine right now on that five pitch mix. But the control of these pitches are very bad since he's a 75 overall live series. So I still probably would let this go. Even with the supercharged, this card only has two pitches that you're going to be able to locate with even supercharged so we're going to live series collections the first thing we're going to open up is the free agents and we are we have all 200 free agents that we need to unlock a couple thousand stubs 10 standard pack 15 standard packs 16 standard packs actually I'm only going to have a pack okay now i'm just going to go through here one by one the orioles are at 24 out of 40 and we are going to lock in every single player that we currently have for every single team red sox are at 20 out of 40. The Yankees are at 24 out of 40, and we have two out of three diamonds. If we're lucky enough to pull Aaron Judge, we're going to get the Yankees done, dude. 93 Mariano Rivera would be a great add, and he's got great team captain stats as well. The Yankees have pretty good live series cards. We could throw their live series players in and work that tier three boost on this card if we want to. We're going to definitely mess with some of these team captains as we're going through and doing these the blue jays we have all of the the top row we're 23 out of 40 so there's a good sign white socks are 21 out of 40 the guardians are 20 out of 40 so it's looking like we're going to be around the halfway mark for the majority of these teams the tigers up to 28 out of 40 doubtful we have any of these done and again circling back to episode one i know i mentioned this in episode one we do have the option to trade in packs at a 1000 stub value on the marketplace if we want to um to get this stuff done i know a lot of you guys are going to be asking me to once we get really close to finishing some of these just know i am going to be very hesitant to do that i'm not going to do it right away like if we get up to 38 or 39 players out of 40 i'm not just gonna instantly use that feature um and get it done i am going to try to pull every single player out of these packs organically but you know if we if we get to 38 or 39 and we're targeting one silver or we're targeting one gold and we're a couple hundred packs deep and it just isn't happening at that point we'll use the feature and move on to something else trust me i'm just going to try to avoid a Drew Pomeranz situation from last year but i'm not going to take all of the fun out of that chase either either we're going to find a happy medium and we're going to make it work 23 out of 40 on the Phillies we have the nationals here at 25 out of 40 and we're on to the cubbies who are at 18 out of 40 cubbies of all teams lacking cincinnati reds 23 out of 40. I think Lodolo's going to be a diamond this year. Put that in your calendars. Pirates at 28 out of 40, another one that had a decent amount. I don't think we've had any team hit 30 yet. Cardinals, we do have one of their diamonds, 24 out of 40. They have two expensive diamonds. Not cheap, that Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt. Now we've got the last four teams left, the NL West pretty much. We need CJ Cron as the only gold in the Rockies inventory. We don't have him. We also need Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman in the Dodgers collection, so still missing those two big diamonds on that team and then the Padres are at 23 out of 40 with Manny Machado already being pulled so if we can pull Josh Hader he would be a great add to the pen and it would be helpful towards the 90 overall JPV so it's looking like we're between 18 and 22 players in the overwhelming majority of these divisions there's a handful where we're getting up close to 30 but then there's also some teams we need to keep in mind like the Yankees where we already have multiple of their diamonds we're only chasing one card really Aaron Judge is going to be a very hard pull slim pickings that we make it happen but if we're lucky enough to pull Aaron Judge just know we have pretty much all the other boxes checked off for Moe it's not going to take us long to knock out the rest of these live series cards as we keep ripping standard packs the Blue Jays who are a good team they don't have any diamonds I actually forgot that I pulled Alec Manoah and we literally have him and Vladdy and I'm sitting here thinking we didn't this collection is going to be much easier than I thought and as we found out last year the 88 Carlos Delgado is probably going to be pretty good. I like his swing. We could maybe even just platoon him. His captain boost at tier three is plus 20 contact and power versus right, which means he's going to be 121, 117 versus right with the captain boost. We're going to roll that for at least one game. And then we're also going to slide over here to the set one collection where we only have nine out of 260 cards. But again, I'm going to be grinding through the World Baseball Classic program, the Tops Now program. We're going to be getting the gameplay XP as we play through here. We're going to get all the XP reward path players. We're not going to get all 260 cards unlocked for pack squads. That's not going to happen. Maybe over the course of a set, we could potentially get to Jazz Chisholm at 75, or maybe even Trea Turner at 110 if we can get enough packs. We'll see. We'll keep up with all that stuff, but the live series cards are our primary focus and objective right now as we grind through the ranks.
