Despite a strong start and high-quality execution, a collision and subsequent poor pit stops eliminated any chance of scoring points. While disappointed by the turn of events, the driver remains pragmatic, noting that the team's pace likely wouldn't have secured points regardless.
Well Carlos it was looking good at one point and then obviously the moment with
Gabi. Gabi's apologised, I don't know if he's had a chance to talk to you either.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Racing, probably Gabi just a bit impatient given the
situation we were both in and how delicate the track was and obviously it
cost me the opportunity to get some points today but that's how racing goes
sometimes. We were having a very good race, very clean start, very clean choices
up until there but then from that point onwards honestly a race went
away from us and we didn't have amazing pace, we had bad pitstops so as a
whole from there onwards it wasn't a race. So what's the kind of emotion
leaving this weekend? One of those weekends where I had probably one of the
best qualities of the year, good start, good execution, everything looks great
maybe to get a point or two for the team and then suddenly something happens, it
goes away from you and everything snowballs from then onwards but honestly
nothing. I don't think with the pace we had today and with the execution we had
afterwards it would have been very difficult to get points so it's not like
I'm regretting too much.
