Rangers make multiple BIG moves... This is PERFECT | NYR News

The New York Rangers have made multiple roster moves that quite frankly are perfect and have fans absolutely fired up and we finally get an answer on one previous roster move that they made and changes to the lineup ahead of their next game are inevitable for head coach Mike Sullivan as one player is injured, one player in particular is being sent down and they made a very interesting call-up that a lot of fans are really happy about. We're gonna break that all down and much more in this episode of Rangers Digest but before we jump into all of that guys a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button. We've noticed that about 80% of you guys who watch these videos are not subscribed to the channel so if you want to stay up to date with everything that's happening with the Rangers on a daily basis you can guys update it every single day. I'm also giving away a jersey here on the channel to one lucky subscriber for whatever comes first either 15,000 subscribers or the Rangers make the playoffs and they're looking pretty good. They're looking to go four and one tonight on the season after dropping the first one which was pretty ugly. Also bear with me today guys, energy might be a little bit lower. I am dealing with an illness right now so let's get into it. Matthew Robertson has officially cleared waivers which is great news for the Rangers because I was a little bit worried that he was possibly going to get claimed. A lot of people weren't really worried if this was the case and to be fair I mean him claiming or clearing waivers excuse me is not something that I would have been over the moon uh sorry him getting claimed off waivers wouldn't have been something that I would have been over the moon upset about uh but Colbault Duen has also been recalled as a result of him clearing waivers and they do not lose Matthew Robertson which is fantastic news so I'm very excited to see Colbault Duen make his NHL debut. This is a guy guys in the AHL so far this season seven goals have been scored for the Hartford Wolfpack and Colbault Duen has been in on five of them he has one goal and four assists he's been absolutely unbelievable now we also get another update the reason he's been called up is because Joe Valeno has officially been added uh per Molly Walker to the IR so he's going to miss at least a week he's going to miss the next week of games uh which means Colbault Duen is going to be staying with the team he's been playing very impressive a lot of people have been making the argument maybe he should stay in the AHL continue ripping up and doing his thing I think these earn the call up right why not give the kid a look I'm excited to see what he's going to do he's a hard-working scrappy player and we'll take a look at what the lineup could look like with him in uh the lineup but there's a whole domino effect that's going on right now with what could be the projected lineup heading into tonight so if you take a look at what Mike Sullivan has to work with obviously Karcher has been playing on that second line he looks pretty good Bjorkstrand's moved down I wonder if it's Bjorkstrand, Colbault Duen and Hemelash tonight and I feel like that's a line that could absolutely get to work could offer some good minutes and uh you know I would imagine this is what it looks like a lot of people are speculating and let me know how you feel in the comments that maybe Colbault Duen could move up to the third line play with Tolvanen and Cooley because they're that's a hard-working bunch themselves and Noah Laba moves down some people are not impressed with Noah Laba so far this season I don't know if that's the case I think that lines look fine so to me I I think you just slot in Baldwin on the fourth line and just see what he can do give him limited minutes uh and just see what he can do in those minutes so I think this is your projected lineup tonight will start for the Rangers same defense score as always and of course the only change that they've really made since the start of the season is Ty Karcher on that second line now according to uh you know everyone out there on Twitter right now according to you know the vinces of the world Molly Walker this is what it shapes up to be it sounds like Baldwin will be in the lineup will make his NHL debut and will be slated to center the fourth line that's the most likely outcome by the time this video goes up it'll probably be very close to puck drop or very close to uh you know warm up so I guess we will see how that all plays out but Cole Baldwin ladies and gentlemen I'm excited to see what this kid's gonna do hard working physical player not the biggest guy but can get it done man he gets to those areas and he's putting the puck in the back of the net or helping others put the puck in the back of the net I do want to spend a few minutes talking about Matthew Robertson too I would have been not that upset if they lost him on waivers although he's a good depth option right like it's a little bit a lot of people are making the point oh Drury's such an idiot and everyone's calling Drury an idiot but he ended up clearing waivers Drury put himself in this position with signing Jonas Carposalo or sorry trading for Jonas Carposalo uh signing would have been even more abysmal but trading for Jonas Carposalo because um you know trading for him put them in the position to take on more salary and now they have to send a guy like Robertson down instead of just making a roster move right like they put themselves in this position to continue to take these risks on losing Dylan Grand on losing Matthew Robertson now you do have some help you still have Scott Morrow he's projected scratch tonight of course but you you almost lost Matthew Robertson he's going to go back down we're going to see him again at some point this season which is great news but uh or you assume uh and maybe you need to use your depth injuries always happen and stuff like that but Albert Schmitz is here too and he looks phenomenal as well so I'm excited to see how he continues to progress in his first NHL season too so it's going to be an interesting game tonight uh there's a lot to get into as well the Rangers are looking very good to start this season uh this is the schedule coming up here so they got the Islanders at home tonight then they head to Washington to play the Capitals on Friday and then two home games on uh you know you got the Canucks and the Lightning again so I think there's a real world here where you can pick up a couple wins you can definitely pick up a couple wins here maybe go what six you know pick up six wins in your first seven games something like that I think that'd be a lot of fun but we'll see it all starts tonight against the Islanders and uh you know Kobo Dwyane hopefully gets first NHL point that'd be a lot of fun to watch but this is what the um schedule looks like going forward here another thing to look out for heading into this game is Igor Shostakhin looks unbelievable so far this season a 934 safe percentage he's played three games and he's always going to look unbelievable I don't know why I have to tell you guys this but he looks good he's on fire he also is outscoring the entire New Jersey Devils team he has a goal and assist so far this season he has two points so he would be the leading scorer on the Devils which is hilarious but uh no he's going to continue to do his thing very excited to see you know him back in net doing his thing now he's projected to start Semyon Varlamov who has not played in two years is set to start for the Islanders tonight Varlamov has a great record against the Rangers so I have no idea what to make of this tonight because he plays the Rangers very well he plays the Rangers well in New York at MSG I guess I should say uh Scott Morrow is also expected to be the healthy scratch tonight and again Villano with a lower body injury is on the IR so that is uh your notes heading into tonight's game and again there's a lot to look forward to coming up here with the Rangers I think they can pick up a couple wins here uh you know against the Islanders against the Caps are a good team this year too but then you got the the Lightning again you got the Canucks the Canucks are a beatable team they're a hard-working scrappy team but anyway the Rangers enter this game 3-1-0 the Islanders swept last season's season series the Rangers were abysmal last season the Islanders also outscored the Rangers 14-3 in those four games and uh the Islanders three games and the Islanders are coming off of a six nothing win so we will see what happens in this game I have no idea how to predict this I do think the Rangers are going to win they're sticking to their process they're looking good uh but I have no idea what to expect from a guy like Varlamov who has not played in two years how does Baldwin look on the fourth line do they try him on the third line I would not change what isn't broken with that third line so I'm excited let's see what happens here and uh you know let me know in the comments what you think is the biggest storyline heading into tonight uh winning another game that's a big storyline obviously you want to win the game is a Colville Duen's NHL debut which I think it probably is or just beating the Islanders after they absolutely decimated the Rangers last year you always like to beat the Islanders so let me know in the comments what you think is the biggest factor heading into tonight and guys the Rangers right now I mean don't look now or anything but they are uh they're in first place they're looking uh pretty good and again like winning games convincingly you watch the last game it was kind of tight but they're sticking to their process they're doing what works and uh let's see if they can pick up a couple more points here tonight against the Islanders these are big games and they have a heavy schedule to start so I'm excited to see how that looks to start let me know how you feel in the comments below Colville Duen makes his NHL debut tonight Joe Valeno is on the IR for at least a week we'll see how that progresses and Matthew Robertson staying in the organization he clears waivers thank you so much for watching I'll see you for another video tomorrow
