Mid-Autumn Festival, the origin of legend and history
published on NTD
Mid-Autumn Festival is also called Moon Festival or Flower Festival
Children are looking forward to this day
because adults often give them toys
such as star lanterns, masks, lanterns for the army,
and they can eat rice cakes
In some places, people also organize a dance
Lion Dance, Dragon Dance
for children to have fun
How did the Mid-Autumn Festival originate?
The Roses Blossom
According to legend, Ngoc Hoang had 10 sons
One day, they turned into 10 suns
which made the ground hot and dry
Ngoc Hoang ordered his sons to return
but they did not listen
so he invited Hau Nghe to come
Hau Nghe was good at archery
and shot down 9 suns
leaving only one son of Ngoc Hoang as the sun
Ngoc Hoang was angry with Hau Nghe's solution
so he punished him
by pushing Hau Nghe and Hang Nga to the bottom
to live a human life
Hang Nga was in great pain
Hau Nghe decided to go find medicine
in a long and dangerous journey
so that they could return to life
Then Hau Nghe met Tay Vuong Mau
Tay Vuong Mau gave him a pill
but told him that each person only needed half a pill
to become immortal
Hau Nghe brought the pill home
and put it in a box
Hau Nghe told Hang Nga not to open the box
and then left the house for a while
Hang Nga was curious and opened the box
and saw the pill
when Hau Nghe came back
He was afraid that Hau Nghe could see
that he was opening the box
so he accidentally swallowed the pill
Hang Nga immediately flew to the sky
Hang Nga kept flying
until he landed on the moon
This is called the legend of Hang Nga's ascension
On the moon, Hang Nga made friends
with a rooster
Hau Nghe and Hang Nga were born
and live on the moon
Every year, on the 8th day of the lunar month
Hau Nghe and Hang Nga were born
in the joy of the moon
That's why the moon is always round
and bright on this day
to talk about the joy of meeting
a group of people
Huyen Tong street, Tien Du, Cung Trang
It is said that Huyen Tong street
is also called Minh Hoang street
While walking around Nguyen garden
on the 8th day of the lunar month
On the day of the moon,
Tham U was visited by the moon
and said that
while enjoying the beautiful scenery
in the middle of the cool weather
the king met the monk La Cong Vien
La Cong Vien is known as
the Phap Su Dieu Phap Thien
He is a person with the power of the fairy
He asked for permission to bring the king to Cung Trang
When he arrived at Cung Trang
King Minh Hoang was welcomed by the fairy
and sang a song with hundreds of beautiful fairies
while dancing and singing
The song was called Nghe Thuong Vu Y
The king was so talented
that he practiced singing
and dancing
hoping to bring the king
to perform for the fairies
The king thought
this is the song
only in heaven
the world can hear it many times
King Huyen Tong asked the monk
what the fairies were wearing
The monk replied
it was a dress
The dance they were performing
was called Nghe Thuong Vu Y Khuc
The king enjoyed the scenery
and forgot the bright sky
Phap Su Dieu Phap Thien had to remind
the new king
but he still regretted
After returning
he composed Nghe Thuong Khuc
with the structure of a piece used for the palace
He let the musician practice the music
Ordered Phi Duong Ngoc Hoang
to design the dance
Since then, Nghe Thuong Khuc
has been used in important ceremonies
or banquets
in the palace
Later, Huyen Tong ordered
the people to hold lanterns
and celebrate on August 5
to commemorate his miraculous journey
Since then, the Mid-Autumn Festival
has become a fun festival
and later spread to the people
and to East Asia and Southeast Asia
In contrast to Hang Nga
Huyen Tong street meets Dao Binh
The story of Huyen Tong
is now considered a legend
It is a funny story
However, a high-ranking official
through his work
can see the origin
Legend has it that the emperor
of Huyen Tong street
or often called Minh Hoang street
was a very respectful person
Uncle Tien
Uncle Tien was very happy
so he took him to Quang Hang palace
