You know, as an Irish person, it can be really weird to hear other English speakers pronounce
Irish names, so that's why I decided to make this video for our followers to teach them
the best way to pronounce Irish names.
And who knows, if you're looking for a name for a new baby, you might get some inspiration.
I'm Ger, this is Learning English Pro, and now it's time to sit back, relax and repeat
after me.
Our first name is quite a common female name in Ireland, Eimear.
Repeat after me, Eimear.
One more time, Eimear.
You might recognise our next name from a very famous Irish singer, Einear, Einear.
One more time, Einear.
Let's move on to a man's name, Eoghan, Eoghan.
Repeat after me, Eoghan.
Eoghan can also be spelled in a few different ways, and they are all pronounced the same.
Before we continue, make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and hit the bell to
get notified every time we post a new English lesson.
OK, are you ready to get back to those weird Irish names?
Up next we have Emmett.
Repeat after me, Emmett.
One more time, Emmett.
Let's move on to the letter F, with Fidelma, Fidelma.
One more time, Fidelma.
And up next we have Fionnuala.

And this name is derived from the German name Gerhard.
Our next name is a man's name, with heavy pronunciation of the H sound, Hugh, Hugh.
One more time, Hugh.
Up next we have a woman's name that is famous from Irish mythology, Isult, Isult.
It's difficult, so let's try it again, Isult.
The letters J and K do not appear in the Irish alphabet, so let's move on to the letter L.
