Princess Diana’s Final Night: The Last CCTV Footage Before the Tragic Crash

The security footage of Princess Diana’s last night consists of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) recordings captured by 31 of the 43 cameras inside the Ritz Hotel in Paris on August 30–31, 1997. These videos became central evidence during the official British inquest into her death.

The camera at the rear exit captures the last known footage of Princess Diana alive. She appears anxious and agitated. The acting driver, Henri Paul, is seen talking with paparazzi, tying his shoes in the lobby, and bounding up the stairs right before they enter the black Mercedes S280.

Minutes after leaving the camera’s view at 12:20 AM, the vehicle entered the Pont de l’Alma tunnel at high speed while being pursued by paparazzi, resulting in the tragic crash that killed Dodi Al Fayed, Henri Paul, and Princess Diana.
