I want to take a moment to wish each and every Londoner and everyone celebrating across the
world a very Merry Christmas. The season of goodwill is a joyous time which sees our city
come alive with lights in our streets, the laughter of children and the kindness of friends and
strangers alike. For Christians, this is a sacred opportunity to join in the celebration of the
birth of Jesus Christ and a chance for us all to recognise the immense contributions of London's
Christian communities. In times of challenge and irrespective of faith you can all draw inspiration
from the message of Christmas which says that hope is always there even in the most unlikely of
places but it calls on us to find the courage to look for it and the strength to share it with
others. I hope everyone has the opportunity to spend time doing what they love and in the company
of loved ones and whether you're putting on the skates, enjoying a mince pie or simply taking the
magic of the season, this is a chance to reflect, to celebrate and to look forward. So let's celebrate
the kindness and generosity that defines this special time and carry that spirit into 2025.
From my family to yours, Merry Christmas.
