Set three is officially here.
We are utilizing our wild card feature.
Our MVP so far this year from set one is Eli De La Cruz,
without a doubt.
81 games, 352 average, 29 homers.
He is the GOAT.
It's officially set three time.
Let's break down the squad.
An outfield of Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper in center,
Stan Musial in right.
Infield, Chase Sutley, Alfonso Suriano, Eli De La Cruz,
and Carlos Correa.
We have Carlos Santana behind the plate,
Nick Castellanos at DH.
A bench of Luis Rendifo, Wilson Contreras,
Ryan Mountcastle, and Eddie Rosario.
Our pitching staff is where we are absolutely loaded.
I mean, seriously, they went nuts
on the relievers in set two.
It is time that we officially say goodbye
to all of our set one cards.
We could feature any of these cards in the wild card
at any point if we want to.
Julio Rodriguez, Lou Gehrig, Jorge Posada,
Shoya Otani, Vlad Senior, Brett Beatty.
Some of our legends of the start of the year.
Go legal out!
Let's get set three in season three off with a bang.
Our lineup is going to be Eli De La Cruz,
Bryce Harper, Alfonso Suriano, Kyle Schwarber,
Nicky Castellanos, Stan Musial, Carlos Santana,
Chase Sutley, and Carlos Correa.
First of all, I'm at the All-Star Game
with all the MLB YouTubers.
Go follow me on TikTok and Instagram
to stay up to date on the IRL stuff.
But most importantly, ladies and gentlemen,
it is my honor to officially announce
the first ever Hall of Fame inductee to PAX Squads.
Not only is this man completely taking
Major League Baseball by storm,
hitting the ball 115 miles an hour,
hitting for cycles, stealing home,
fire cannon on the infield.
He's also been completely dominant
and the leader of our PAX Squads team,
not only this year, but most importantly,
last year as well.
Eli has been the PAX Squads MVP two years running.
And when this was brought up
for our first ever Hall of Fame nomination,
it was a clean sweep in the comment section.
Eli De La Cruz is your first ever
PAX Squads Hall of Famer.
Home squad, we got Chris Sale versus Garrett Cole.
Incognito Yankee versus Incognito Red Sox.
I'm just happy I'm not facing Bob Gibson.
And because you just hit that thumbs up down below
to get this video to a thousand likes
and then you downloaded the Underdog Fantasy app
with Coach Shelfie, I appreciate it.
Change up to Wander Franco.
We are ahead of him 0-2.
He did not like that.
Oh, he's bunt dancing on me here, 1-2.
Hey, now he's paused on me.
He does not.
I guess he wants me to throw him batting practice here
to start set three.
Good slider.
Take a seat.
Our first pack of the season is Chris Sale.
Want you guys to go to the comment section right now
before you watch any more of the video.
Guess who you think is going to hit
the first home run of the game for our team.
Good sinker and blew it by him.
Actually leaked out of the over the plate a little bit,
but it was just too much for him.
I'm going to throw the same sinker, but up.
Hopefully we can hit the black.
Oh, close enough.
Another pack for Chris Sale.
Fly ball, oh no, we got a bad jump out
right when it's damn usual.
That's one negative for us to start this season.
We got Bryce Harper playing center.
Our outfield is all over the place defensively.
He's going to shoot for three here.
Strong arm from Soriano.
Oh, I didn't get a perfect throw.
Could have got a pack there defensively,
but I did not hit the line.
Chipper's 90 feet away with Bryce Harper
and lefty, lefty, we've got to get him here.
Let's go with that sinker.
He didn't like the sinker.
He hit the four seam well.
Did not like the sinker.
Fouled that one off.
He's coming home.
What are you thinking?
That's a pack on a caught stealing attempt, technically.
Let's go.
Get through there.
Elie De La Cruz.
He took a hit away.
Elie De La Cruz seared that ball like a Tostito.
Do you sear Tostito?
That doesn't even make sense.
One and O to Bryce Harper.
Get out of here.
Annihilated by Bryce.
That might be a distance bonus to start the season.
We did it in the first inning.
Who guessed Bryce Harper?
478, my heavens.
Our first bonus of the season is a Bryce Harper nuke.
Sheesh.
Alfonso Soriano now 105 on the ground.
Buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, barrels.
Schwarber now smoked.
And, ah, knocked out by Garrett Cole.
Woo, lots of loud contact that inning.
And a very far home run.
0-2, let's see if we can get a take here.
He's taking that slider pretty well this inning.
Too much plate, but again, blew it right by him.
Oh, boy.
And just like that, we're tied.
Aaron Judge gets us.
Yikes.
It's gonna go right after Chase Utley here.
Again, gaze.
Can't believe he gets one ball and it goes out.
He's nowhere near the fastball.
I missed over the plate one time.
Here's Matt Holiday.
Good take.
He's got a good eye on the slider down, though, I will say.
Fly ball left.
That'll do it for the inning.
He gets that run right back.
It's my trademark, man.
It's my trademark.
Nick down the line the other way.
Bang!
That's gonna be an extra base hit
to start the second inning.
Looking to get it back again.
Stan!
Yo, this man at second base.
Come on!
That's twice already.
Chase.
Slider.
Curve ball, actually.
Breaking ball three-oh.
He was probably just putting him on there,
setting up the two ball once he got down two-oh.
Oh, no.
That fastball at the knee there to Chase.
He straight up froze me there.
Gotta give him credit.
Here's Carlos Correa now with two outs.
Correa gets a slider at the chest.
He's gonna fly out.
Dang it!
We straddle.
He don't double.
Can't do that.
It's packs, though.
We'll take the packs.
0-2 here on Grady Sizemore.
Gas him up.
Oh, it was out in front of that one.
He was ready there.
He's expecting me to bury an off-speed
off the plate now, though.
Frozen!
There's a pack.
Oh, wow.
What a take.
3-2 on Will Smith.
Got him out in front.
Oh, I did not want that out over the plate like that,
but I got him on timing.
Here's Wander now.
Top of the order back up.
Oh, man.
That changeup went to the worst possible spot on the par.
Swing under it.
Yes!
No, Bryce!
Go, Bryce!
Please!
Get up!
Ellie into the corner!
Get away from him!
Give me three.
Nah, it's gonna be a double.
Another leadoff double.
Two innings in a row.
Three innings in a row.
We're getting barrels here on Garrett Cole.
We gotta cash in now.
Oh, Bryce, I'm so sorry.
Oh!
That cutter's just in a perfect spot.
You're not gonna get that ball out.
We got a good swing on that.
Just didn't have enough.
We did move that runner up to third again, though.
Two innings in a row.
Runner on third with one out.
Now he goes changeup in this time.
Is that deep enough to score the run?
99 speed.
Gotta time it up.
I think we got it timed up.
Perfect!
And we take the lead.
Eli De La Cruz leadoff double.
We bring him around to score.
Get through?
Skip?
Get through?
No?
This infield's driving me nuts!
That's like the third slider up in the zone, though,
that I want back in this game.
Oh, boy.
And Otani gets it right back.
Why am I like this?
Hoo!
Nasty.
Another pack for Chris Sale.
Just gotta avoid contact at all costs.
One-two now on Bryson.
Another strike.
Got back eight strikeouts.
It is the fourth inning.
All right.
Three and O to Aaron Judge.
Now Chase Utley is on deck.
Just cannot seem to get a corner right now
with this fastball.
He is.
Come on, Chris.
Sinker in on that man's hands.
Yeah, he's ready to fire off on that fastball in again
like he did with Otani.
Slider again.
A little closer to the zone.
Beautiful.
Okay, I'll take that.
In the zone.
All right.
These off-speed pitches up in the zone
are starting to get on my nerves.
Carlos Santana now ripped the center,
but right at him.
About time we start getting this bullpen going.
We are gonna warm up.
Goose Gossage and Aroldis Chapman.
He's been very late in this game.
Chanda!
There's another bonus.
10 strikeouts on the game for Chris Sale.
Went on that changeup and now two-two.
I'm gonna elevate a slider here away.
Nasty pitch.
Haven't thrown many of those this game.
Mixed it in perfect there.
Now Will Smith up.
Oh, and two on back-to-back fastballs.
Drop a changeup.
Ground ball short.
Ellie DeLaCruz will make the play.
We go bottom five.
Tied.
Every time I score one, I give it right back immediately.
Can we get two?
And then a goosey?
And now Carlos Correa rips one to third for an out.
Dang, here's Ellie.
He doubled and came around to score last time up.
Loud out right there with Carlos Correa.
Loud out.
And now Ellie now.
Oh my goodness.
Curve ball right down the middle.
104.
We are battling here.
It's good.
Ground ball to short again.
Ellie DeLaCruz.
One pitch, one out.
Top six.
All right, Chris Hale.
What's going on?
Keep having these at-bats where we are just
not getting anywhere.
There we go.
Can we get the middle of the par one time though?
You were just right twice.
Now you are just left.
Got that one by him.
Three-two.
Elevated slider again.
What a take.
That was an insane at-bat.
Gonna go to the bullpen.
We're doing gossage.
So we'll change up straight down here.
O-two on Chip.
We're ahead.
And he was way out in front.
First off-speed pitch.
He wasn't even remotely prepared.
Let's start Bryce with a slurve.
Take it off.
Oh no.
Carlos has hit it perfect.
Go.
No way.
Oh baby.
That sinker got too much play,
but he's gonna fly out.
Bryce Harper flies out to Bryce Harper.
Alfonso Soriano now.
Yo, we are having zero luck on this guy's infield.
Lots of loud ground outs.
Swarmer.
You're a bad man.
That cutter got too much play and we got one.
We take the lead back here.
Bottom six.
415 for Kyle Swarmer.
Sliced it.
The lightest check swing I've ever seen.
You from Midland?
I see you.
There we go.
We score bottom six and in top seven,
we get a loud out.
Some good luck goes our way.
Now Chase Utley in.
We're gonna go to Aroldis Chapman
and we're gonna warm up Mariano Rivera.
Good change up.
That was beautiful Aroldis Chapman.
Thank you.
Went right dead center of the par two,
which rarely happens.
Now the slide.
Beautiful.
It's actually out over the plate.
Didn't want it there,
but it had nasty movement.
Good change up.
Got the swing on Matt Holiday there.
It's oh two.
I'm actually just gonna pitch backwards here.
Right at him.
Oh my goodness.
He had no chance.
Stan Musial, I am so sorry.
My PCI placement has been brutal in this game.
My timing's been great all the way through.
PCIs have prevented me from scoring seven or eight here.
Carlos, ooh!
And then I barrel one up, but I'm early.
Of course.
That's how I do things.
Carlos.
Pretty much the same swing as Kyle Swarmer
and he's gonna get it to go.
Back to back innings.
We cut a cutter in half.
Slice it for a solo.
Four two is the score.
No, please go.
Give me two packs.
Give me two.
Yeah, baby!
Let's go!
You love to see it.
Chris Sale goes parallel three postgame.
Bryce Harper goes parallel four already.
And now you already know.
We are using the future star,
Ellie De La Cruz as our wild card,
but I am going to be opening chase packs
as often as I can to try and get this cycle card.
And boy, I cannot stress this enough.
This is the most I have ever wanted to pull a diamond
in my entire life.
Pulling him would be the peak
of my Diamond Dynasty existence.
By the way, I forgot to note
that Ronald Acuna is supercharged.
I should've used him today.
Oh, well, we'll get back on the supercharges
when I get back from Seattle in the All-Star Game.
Actually, now that set one's been wiped clean,
they're gonna be a great place
to get some extra bat usage.
16 total bases, four runs scored.
We had 14 strikeouts with our pitching staff.
Two bonuses.
We also caught a man trying to steal,
and we had a walk.
That gives us 46 standard packs in total.
First things first, though,
I'm just gonna open up all of these ranked packs
that we get for the start of the season
just to get these out of the way.
These are just gonna be filler cards
for our inventory,
and we can talk about what we're gonna do
moving forward with packs
while we're going into this set three new season here
in Diamond Dynasty.
The plan for me is to open
as many of these chase packs as possible
until we get Elie de la Cruz.
And I also wanna have an open discussion in the comments
because in the last episode,
the end of last season,
we got Goose Gossage unlocked from a set collection,
and a lot of you guys went to the comments
and said he should just go right on the team
in the same way we do with MLB Collections
because it's technically not a program.
That's actually a long grind to get those collect.
I don't know.
It's up to you guys,
but I do wanna hear some thoughts down below.
Should we just use that Goose Gossage in our bullpen,
or should we put them on the program wheel?
Now, our two diamond packs
are gonna be the new Diamond Duo Pack 26
where we could get either Camillo Duvall
or this new 99 Kyle Tucker.
And I probably would go Kyle Tucker.
He's just got an insane swing animation and good defense,
whereas right now,
we do not have a good defense in right field,
and our bullpen's nasty.
But first, we're throwing our big dart first.
The Chase Pack 5 for Ellie.
It's purple.
Our first attempt at the Chase Pack is purple.
Who is it?
Show us a purple we don't have.
Show us Verlanders.
Not Verlander.
And now our Pack 26 Diamond Duo.
Our Diamond Duo look has been outrageous lately.
I mean, outrageous.
Let's go ahead and open up.
Let's do the Giants uniforms.
You got the gold round.
Not a good day for our specials.
46 standard.
Let's get the rip,
and there will be 57 left when we are done.
All right, five more.
We legitimately have,
we have zero diamonds and barely any golds.
We have just five packs left to go here.
So not a good episode for packs at all
unless we clutch it out big time right here on the last two.
It's not looking like it.
Last standard pack.
Wow.
No upgrades to the squad
after a dominant breakout game one.
I don't know what the live series superchargers
they're gonna look like for the week
once I get back from Seattle.
I am recording this on Saturday night before I leave.
But let me know in the comment section down below,
what should we be looking forward to in terms of upgrades?
Where can I snag some extra packs to use early this season?
So of course we're gonna work our way up
to the season three XP boss pack
where we have some tremendous options,
including Jock Peterson.
Jock Peterson runners in score position is 125, 125, 125, 125.
What?
I will also be grinding out the June monthly awards program
so that we can put the 99 lightning Shohei Ohtani
on the program wheel.
His world baseball classic card was insane for us.
We need this lightning card.
Let me know down below what other cards
or packs I should be targeting.
I'll see you guys in the next one.
Go follow me on TikTok and use code Shelfie at SeatGeek.
Peace.
