Three, two, one, go.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
My name is Anaya Karandikar, and I'm nine years old.
My name is Dia Sarda, and I am 10 years old.
My name is Misha Fernandez, and I'm nine years old.
We are from Opera Estate Primary School.
Today, we are presenting
History Is Watching Us, What Story Will This Generation Write?
History has made some great achievements,
such as Neil Armstrong,
the first man on the moon on July 20th, 1969,
or Amelia Earhart,
the first woman to fly over the Atlantic Ocean
on July 2nd, 1937.
We do not think that this generation
can achieve such great heights.
This is because kids and people nowadays
are using artificial intelligence,
known as AI, chat GPT, and Gemini,
instead of solving problems themselves.
But technology is not all bad.
It depends on how we use it.
For example, we can use it to give us ideas
on how to code a robot,
or we can ask it to make the code for us.
Did you know that it used to take us 10 years or a decade
just to make one vaccine or medicine for a disease?
But now using technology, we only take one year to make one.
Can you see how much we have improved?
That is only one of the many good things in this generation.
Other examples are better defenses,
more advanced technology, and more cures for diseases.
We even have robots to accomplish things that we cannot do.
Like when the Venezuelan rescue teams use cockroaches
with aerial robotic sensitive microphones
to search for earthquake survivors on June 24th, 2026.
So you may not realize it,
but technology has done some great things as well.
But kids like us can say, but all tools were achieved by adults.
Well, I know one of the people who disagree,
such as Anne Makosinski, who is a young inventor.
When she was in ninth grade,
she had invented a thermoelectric flashlight,
also known as the hollow flashlight
which is powered by the body heat in your hand.
She invented this tool to help financially struggling kids
and families in her time to study at night.
She had also built this to reduce the use of single-use batteries
and it even won her the Google Science Fair award.
So you may have not realized it
but we have already made some spectacular achievements.
so I want you to think about this generation
so I want you to get out there
so you can get inspired, do great things
but most importantly, never give up
We would like to thank the judges and the lovely audience
for giving us this chance to present ourselves
We think that this generation will write an amazing story
Thank you and have a wonderful day
