Opening Up Another Original Doorway

Welcome back to the finca!
After weeks of record-breaking temperatures, we're finally back to work on our historic stone house restoration.
In this episode we begin opening up the wall for our new French doors, uncovering more of the original stonework and discovering that, as always with old buildings, what looked like a simple job quickly became much more complicated!
Along the way we salvage beautiful old stone, investigate the original lintel and decide on a new plan that will preserve more of the building's original character while making the installation much easier.
In this episode:
• Opening up the wall for new French doors
• Discovering the original doorway
• Investigating the original stone lintel
• Salvaging traditional stone for reuse
• Adapting our restoration plans
• Working through another Spanish summer heatwave
Right at the end of the video, we also introduce the newest member of the family—Bill, a gentle rescue dog who has already stolen our hearts.
As always, thank you so much for watching and supporting our restoration journey. We couldn't do it without you!
