NY Giants QB Jaxson Dart Must Be Smarter
Aug 6, 2026
Jackson Dart, the thing that I think a lot of people like about him, besides the fact
that he has shown promise as a signal caller, is that he brings a certain degree of moxie
to the table.
He brings a swagger.
But Jackson Dart has got to control that.
And there was an incident in Tuesday's practice where Jackson Dart was able to run it in for
a touchdown in the red zone.
So Jackson Dart scores and what does he do?
He throws the ball at Greg Newsome.
Didn't appreciate having the ball chucked at his feet.
John Harbaugh didn't appreciate it either.
He called for a 15-yard taunting penalty, which meant that now the ball had to be moved
back for the extra point.
Jackson Dart has got to know better.
You cannot do stupid stuff like that.
That's that youthful exuberance, that excitability.
I get it, it's part of his charm, but you've got to be smart about it.
You score, hand the ball back to the referee, and act like you've been in the end zone before.
And that was the point that I think Harbaugh wanted Dart to realize.
Now I'm not saying don't celebrate, but there's a right way to celebrate and a wrong way to
celebrate.
And throwing a ball at somebody is not the way to celebrate.
Jackson Dart, that was a learning moment for him.
I'm sure Harbaugh had to talk with him about doing stupid stuff like that.
But see, this is what worries me a little bit about Dart and to a degree Cam Scadaboo.
Sometimes those guys let their emotions get the better of them.
It leads to doing stupid stuff.
You cannot hurt your team by doing something stupid.
