Here is your New York Giants practice report for Wednesday from East Rutherford.
As you can see, very high and bright sky, very hot day.
Giants of course went through a fully padded practice today.
It was a hit and release practice.
Now at the end, Coach Halpern put his team under game conditions.
For about the last 20 minutes or so, he had the offense try to gain first downs and then
if they couldn't, they had to actually punt the ball and then switch sides to the other
side of the field where then the next offensive unit would come on.
And they continued to do this back and forth until finally, with 11 seconds left in the
period, Dominic Zavada hit a 62-yard field goal to provide the winning margin and of
course everybody on the field cheered as Zavada was able to come through in the clutch.
Alright, let's talk about some key highlights, some key plays that we really saw that we
really liked in today's practice.
Tremaine Edmonds had a sensational practice today.
Got his hands on a couple of batted balls, also was able to defend a short pass over
the middle.
He was simply all over the field.
Also you had Lane with a tip pass that was actually caught by Gibson on a ricochet.
Good defensive play, but an even better offensive play.
You had Brian Burns coming in on a blitz and he knocked the pass down, it wasn't even a
pass defense, he simply just batted it right down into the ground.
So Burns making several nice plays.
The kicking competition, by the way, between Ben Soles and Dominic Zavada, this is really
really tight.
Soles went 4 of 5, Zavada went 6 of 6.
A couple other key plays that we did see today, we saw a couple of other tip balls at the
line of scrimmage.
A little bit difficult to see who exactly got their hands on it.
I think there were a total of 5 or 6 batted balls today during the course of practice.
Aldell Beckham made an incredible catch along the right sideline diving.
There seemed to be some dispute because there was not an official right there to say whether
or not he was inbounds.
They decided to rule it out so they could just rerun another play, but nonetheless Coach
Harbaugh mentioned he was impressed with the athleticism and the ability to make the grab.
Also Art Green had a really dynamite pass defense near the end of the practice session.
Well that'll do it for Wednesday's practice here from Giants Training Camp.
Keep it tuned to the New York Giants on SI for all your information.
I'm Paul Titino, we'll see you next time.
