The incandescent glow from a moderately explosive eruption at the summit of Kanlaon Volcano in the Philippines on the night of October 24, 2025.

The brief, three-minute eruption (8:05 PM - 8:08 PM) generated a plume that rose 2,000 meters (2 km) above the crater and caused ashfall and pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) to descend the southern slopes. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) maintained Alert Level 2 (Increased Unrest) after the event, warning that further short-lived explosions remain possible.
