Hi guys, I'm Harlow. Welcome back to the channel and in today's vlog we're doing a pony swap yet
again. I'm riding my friend's pony, her name is Carmen and she's got a lovely dressage pony
called Milo. He's a bit bigger than Popcorn, a 14.2 and when Carmen's going to be riding Popcorn
we're going to be having a lesson so and I've never sat on Milo before and Carmen's never sat
Popcorn so it's a completely shock but we're having a lesson today. We're going to ride each
of those ponies for I think half the lesson then swap and then from there on. So Carmen's got Milo
in and now it's time to go get Popcorn in. I'm going to ride him bareback from the field
because I just feel like it. I've got my helmet on, let's go. And if you don't know Milo is Popcorn's
absolute best friend ever. They are like linked at the hooves um and they love each other so much
um but yeah. Also Milo's ripped his rug all down the side so I don't know what he's done that on
whether he's done it in the field or he's rolling or he's scratched it on the tree branch, I don't
really know. I hope Popcorn's is okay because his rug is like two days old, it's brand new um
I'm praying. Popcorn! Oh no I've got my new trainers on, oops. I'm just gonna have to climb
on the fence to get to him. Carmen and Milo are a livery at this yard, they've been here for about
a month now and Popcorn and Milo are already best friends um but yeah Popcorn's took a couple steps
towards the gate, that's good. If he can take about 20 more steps that would be amazing.
Oh my goodness, why have I decided to wear my brand new trainers? Hey Zach! Popcorn always
does this, he rams his face with um grass so he gets loads of mouthfuls in. Oh my goodness,
Popcorn! That rope is filthy, okay we're gonna do a rip check. No rips on the berm,
okay there's no rips, that's good but he's absolutely filthy. Is he filthy inside? Probably
not but nope that's good, he's just got a very very dirty face. Good boy. Is that a fly? Good
boy, there you go. Let's see if we can do this up. Now Popcorn, we've got to be very careful at this
part. There's no one else in the field so I can leave the gate open, good boy. Don't really have
a mountain block so we're gonna have to use something because I cannot vault on from the
ground. Am I gonna get on from the fence? Should I get on from the fence? I don't know if this is
a good idea or not. Come on, don't eat the grass, don't eat the grass, come on, don't eat the grass,
please don't eat the grass. The grass is for show, okay? No, I said don't eat the grass.
Come on, pull your head up. Right, this is your only bite. Oh no, the knee rope. Okay, we're on
but his head's down. Yay, you made it, good boy. He didn't eat any of the grass, good boy.
Look at that long luscious tail blowing the wind. I'm over this. I'm just taking his rug off,
hopefully he's not dirty underneath there. I think he's going to be quite dry and quite clean
because this rug is waterproof and it's quite thick. The face isn't wet, the neck's clean
and the body's clean. Woohoo. Oh, and he's still got something on his butt.
Okay, so we have groomed Popcorn and attacked him all day. We didn't give him a full-on
pound per session, just a quick groom because he was really clean anyway because he had a rug on
but now it's time to go meet Carmen and Irina. Oh, we've also got Harlan here today with us.
Right, three, two, one. So, this is Milo and Carmen. Milo's a very, very good dressage pony
from Belgium. Isn't he a Belgian sport horse, I think? He's a Belgian breed. Yes, we know.
Oh, you can faintly see the heart on his bum still. Popcorn is best friends. Give Milo
a bit of personal space, okay? We're going to have a lesson with our instructor Ellie today
and then halfway through are we going to swap. Where is she? Hello. Paris, come on. Come up.
Hello, Paris. You're very high up, aren't you? Are you scared? Good girl.
There's a little visitor today at the yard. We've got Paris. Okay. I'm very excited to
ride with Milo. He's a bit bigger. He's a lot taller. I love the pink. We put popcorn
as pinks. Yeah, it's not the same pink. Yours is a bit darker, but it's really nice.
One, two, three. Oh, one, two, three. He's going in front.
Whoa. How I lost them. He's a lot easier to get into an outline.
Okay, they're a bit longer than popcorns.
God, that was easy. Just about to try my first ever flying change. Yeah. What did he do? One,
it felt weird. He was like, can I try out on popcorn? Can we just try?
Not even just try? Not even just try? Can't I just try? Okay, I'm going to try.
What? How do you know he won't do it? That was really good. He was such a good boy.
Yeah, he'll fall asleep. There we go.
Should we start untacking him? We can give them a little wash down.
Let's go back and get them ready for bed. Come on, I know you're tired ponies,
but we need to untack you. Oh yeah. You can be the first.
Milo was really good. He wasn't bouncy at all and I love his flying changes.
Yes, you're very cute. And you too, popcorn. Don't get jealous.
My trainer's going to be working on flying changes with popcorn.
Oh no, he's fine. He's really sleepy now, so he'll just stand there.
Shake off the skittles, shake off the russets, shake off the candy corn.
I'm just getting the sand out of his hooves. Yeah, you've got the last one.
We've got to go, we've got to go, we've got to go. Go ahead, Cruella. Eat it. Carrot right now.
I'm going to give you a carrot in a minute. Oh, I don't have a carrot right now, popcorn.
I'll have the carrot in a minute. Okay, be patient. Stop. He's nibbling my hand.
Right, time for the carrots. Behold, the carrots. That's a big bite.
Have you ate them all again? I'll have a cherry though. Do you have vegetables? There we go.
Eat your vegetables. You better chew that because that's a big carrot.
Okay, now is Milo allowed a carrot? Yes. Oh, that's a big bite. I don't want him to choke.
Will he choke? No, he won't choke. Okay, there you go. Oh, there's a big carrot.
They can have two each. One big carrot and one small carrot. Right, then I'll snap this carrot
in half. There we go. That's not really a good snap. Right, you can have a little nibble of this.
Little nibble. Little nibble. Tiny nibble. That's good. Milo, do you want this? It's got a bit of
popcorn slobber on it but I'm sure you won't mind. It's a carrot either way. Oh, are you still chewing
that? Yeah. Okay, we'll give this one to Pocon. You better chew that, Pocon. You better chew it.
Yeah, you're chewing that. You're still chewing. He's still chewing that. He's still chewing that.
What's he doing? Mum, Pocon, you're giving me a heart attack.
Me and Carmen have decided that we're going to clean our tank and we're going to start off with
the bridles. For the beds, because the sink's not too far away, we're just going to use
some plain water in a bottle. I'm just going to spray it directly on.
Oh.
And then you can just get it all off with your fingers.
I don't want to get your leather dirty. Oh yeah. Oh, it's quite hot.
Ah, that's hot.
We're going to start off by dampening our sponges and then we're going to rub it,
give it a quick clean all over the bridle, then we're going to go in with the real, real deal.
Okay. That's really dirty. We're not going to take the whole bridle apart today because it's
quite late, it's like sunset, and also we're probably never going to put it back together
right. And just go. Can I do it? There you go.
Right.
You look a bit hairy. Yeah. Oh, the windows are a bit wet. It's fine.
Right, now I'm going to clean my bottle because it's a bit
soapy. Very nice and shiny. Yeah, mine's a bit shiny as well. Yeah, your one's got like this
special, it's not leather, it's a lot like shinier paint and I think that's what it's called. Right,
and now I think it's time to move on. Yeah.
Okay, so we can, let me get my, okay, let me make sure this is filming. Okay.
Yeah, this one's your, this one's your one, but like it's, Ellie owns it but you're using it and
then you own this one but I'm using it, so it's like kind of like a swap. Oh yeah, get the sponges.
That was very sweaty. I'm gonna use this to brush the stirrups off. I need to get a bucket for this.
Okay Harlan, you okay? Yeah. Were you? Yeah. Oh yeah, I went in the trailer before.
Huh? Right, so I'm gonna take, yeah, I'm gonna take my stirrups off for this so I can
really give the leathers a good clean. Yeah, I desperately need to organise all of my stuff.
Wowzers, this is really lathering up. Think my sponge is a bit too wet. Oh my goodness,
look at the colour of my sponge. It's supposed to be that colour. Oh my goodness. Wait,
I'm gonna go wash my sponge because I don't want to put dirt back on the saddle. So this saddle,
which I'm cleaning right now, is actually Carmen's saddle but it doesn't fit Milo, does it? No it
doesn't. Yeah, so and then the saddle that I was using previously before was Ellie's saddle
and that fitted Milo really well, so we've done a bit of a saddle swap kind of. Yeah.
And you don't need to rinse this soap out either, it's just
put it on and then it soaks in to the saddle. Yeah. It's so satisfying when it comes out of
the sponge though. I'm gonna run this to the sink. Should we clean these parts?
The girth, yeah, we'll do that. Or the girth traps. Yeah.
This horse stand like model thing is really easy to clean your tack on because it's basically like
a horse. Yeah and also you won't get like the sort of like low ones where you could bend down
so in fact these are better because you can even like, it has wheels on it, so I'm just gonna,
you can just move, the stirrups have connected, you can just move it anywhere you want. So like
if you want to go in the sink you don't, and you have to bring the saddles there, you don't have
to keep on walking back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, so you can just like bring them
over there. Bring the saddles to you. Yeah. Instead of carrying them because, yeah.
Now I'm gonna get the saddles open and do the stirrup levers. Make them like smooth.
So guys, thank you so much for watching today's vlog. Milo was so lovely to ride,
thank you so much for letting me ride him. You're welcome. Popcorn was very nice too,
and his canter was very nice, very comfy. Yeah. And it was very fast too. Yeah,
a lot faster than Milo's and a little bit less collected. Yeah, but he was very good.
But I'll see you in the next one. Bye!
Can you say bye? Bye!
Wait, no. Bye!
