Narrow the Gap is a meaningful drama that explores social inequality, bullying, and the transformative power of kindness. The story centers on two high school girls from very different backgrounds: Ashley, a poor but kind-hearted girl living with her grandfather, and Alex, a wealthy girl who gradually learns to stand up for what is right. Through their journey, the script emphasizes that true connection is not built on wealth or status, but on empathy and courage.
Last but not least, we would like to thank you Ms. Trang and every editors from Studio C505 for great support for every students to create amazing films like this. Your kidness is coolllllllll !!
One Sunday afternoon, there were two people doing street performances for Thames Outsider Mall.
A younger named Ashley, whose dream is to study abroad. Her only family is her dearest grandmother.
Due to poverty, they had to earn more money for Ashley's high school fees.
A wealthy woman and her child passed by and handed them some money.
Suddenly, a wealthy woman's wallet was falling on the ground.
She dropped her wallet. Ashley quickly ran to help pick up for her.
Madam. Thank you, young lady. You're so kind. You're welcome. Hey, Ashley.
Nice to see you. You guys are friends? Nice to meet you, Ashley. Nice to meet you.
Thank you for helping my mom. Would you like to get a drink?
I have some business to do. I will meet you later.
The next day, Ashley went to school as usual. What she mostly faced is a group of rich bullies.
Wow, wow, wow. Isn't that a pathetic girl from a poor family?
She didn't even brush her hair and ironed her shorts.
You got the problem. It is disgusting.
You hear that? Disgusting. You must be mistaken as disgusting.
Oh, no. Disgusting. You are lucky. Poor girl. You better watch out.
Hi, Ashley. Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. Are you all right?
Thanks, but I'm fine. Ashley. Well, I just don't want to face the rich like you guys.
You are this girl's friend, right? And you should not bully me.
What Ashley said bothered Alex a lot. Alex totally understood that
she had always wanted to talk and even help Ashley. But she didn't have enough courage.
Okay, class. Today's homework is a reflective essay of the novel Hot
by Armando Guillemitris. See you next week.
Hey, how are you? No, hi. Maybe I just used that TV server.
Yeah, me too. It would be better if we did it once.
Wait, wait. Look. Hey, who am I again?
She's only the top student in this class. Miss Jessica praises her a lot.
Annoying. Guys, I think we shouldn't.
Because of her. I cannot never manage to get to the top. Poor girl.
What's the matter? You think you can always surpass me in
academics, right? You want to be Miss Jessica's pet student that bad, huh?
I'm just studying for my exam. Oh, please don't be so modest. You fool.
How about I'm going to make you lie at home so you cannot submit your homework.
Ashley, no. Why do you do that?
I'm talking to you, Alex. Why do you do that?
She's a bully girl. She hasn't done anything bad to you.
I'm going to be praised. Thanks for noticing me.
You're welcome. My friends, they have gone too far. I'm so sorry about that. To be honest,
I have always wanted to be your friend. But I'm not in a rich family like you guys.
That's not important. You are kind and I appreciate that.
Well, Ari. Well, if you're still proud of me,
that's okay. I can understand that. I'm grateful that you're willing to help me.
Even if it can cost your friendship. Then so will be friends.
Right, finally. Hey, do you want to hang out after school?
But where?
To the mall. There is a big green mattress there and it looks stunning.
That's amazing. But I've never been to that place before because it's expensive.
But now you have a chance.
Meanwhile.
Oh my god, is that a dream? That girl must be happy.
Alex, Ashley, you're gonna pay for this.
After school, Alex and Ashley went to the mall. But wait, is everything gonna end that happily?
No way. Things are getting more intense from now on. Let me change the scene a little tiny bit.
There we go. Alex and Ashley went to the mall, but they did not know that Dozer and two others
were following them. Dozer then seized the opportunity to push two girls to the back street.
You guys are having a good time, huh?
What are you doing there? Hey, stop it. Just until she punish you for bullying her.
Wow, very funny.
Since we all have our own problems.
Shut up. You hurt my pride. You don't understand me.
Now you all blame me as only villain?
Right after Dozer turned back, something terrible happened.
Let me out.
Those are Thompson, right?
How did you know my name?
Your dad, David Thompson, owe me a lot of money.
What?
I worked for his art agency for five years, but he only paid me 30%.
He fired me and the others. Do you know why? To replace us with AI generators.
He thinks that machines is better than us.
Rich kids like you have everything you want thanks to your family.
But at what cost? Money is trying them to do anything.
Even it will lose the people's morality. So that's why I hate your dad a lot.
I'm going to make a funeral call and you must ask him for money.
No, no, nothing but that. Mom, please.
Anything but that. My God, you're going to be mad at me, Mom.
Listen kid, I don't want to harm you. I only have issues with your dad.
Things seem simple now, so you better stay and don't think of escaping from here, okay?
Miss Hannah's taco, right?
Oh yeah, but what's that for? I didn't order anything.
This is a gift from those guys at the bank.
He admires your artwork a lot, so he gives it to you. Keep drawing.
Okay, let me see.
The date is last year.
Well, he admires you, but he's shy to give it to you, so wait until now.
It's lucky that Natasha's uncle is the police officer.
I told him our GPS will locate the kidnappers somehow.
Poor her, but she was still wrong to kidnap those guys.
But I hope that she will report everything to my dad's company.
Yeah, I have recorded her saying to those guys.
I think the police will consider it an incident.
But hey, I still remember that Ashley was so brave.
Yeah, I cannot bear anyone having trouble, especially your Alex friend.
So I must help you.
You saved me, even though I treated you so badly.
Thanks, Alex. I have another perspective about you guys.
Rich or poor isn't important now, because after all,
you realized your mistake and you seriously apologize to victims like Ashley.
I'm so sorry.
Yeah, we regret doing that to you.
Yeah, everyone has their own trouble.
But I heard that you have trouble with your dad, right?
Yes, he strictly expects me to be a perfect girl,
so that I can take over his position of his company.
But I have no choice.
Yeah, the truth is we are heavily influenced by family members looking for us.
They will be very busy to take care of us.
So now we will be friends, right?
Hey, I have an idea. Wanna hear?
Yes!
After investigating the kidnapper's case, she was acquitted.
This was due to the forgiveness of Dozer for her.
Beyond that, with the evidence from Davis Thompson's agency,
she eventually received what he must give her.
This development was beyond her greatest dream.
Next day was a Christmas Eve.
Four girls and Ashley's grandpa arrived at Alex's house.
Alex and her mom warmly welcomed the guests.
Wow, such a wonderful party.
Thanks for coming.
Okay, thank you so much.
Come on in, kids.
Come on, come on in.
So the plan to invite you guys to the party is a set one.
You are brilliant, Alice.
Oh, what's wrong, Tristan?
I remember I said to Miss Jessica,
get her normal.
Me too.
There you go.
Success.
Doing it by myself.
Good choice.
Thank you.
The Christmas party was full of laughter and joy.
Everyone was gradually forming an invisible bond.
In a world where people are often divided by world and status,
it's easy to forget what truly brings us together.
The five girls come from different worlds,
yet kindness allows them to see beyond fear, pride, and prejudice.
Kindness does not erase differences,
but it narrows the gap between hearts.
It turns changes into friends,
fear into trust,
and conflict into role.
