Winner of entertainment performance at the BAFTAs, Mo Gilligan everybody. Mo, how do you feel?
Oh my god, I was just happy to be nominated and be with the likes of Frankie Boyle,
Graham Norton and Lee Mack. So when my name came up I was like, what?
It's amazing, I'm so happy for you. I mean and what lovely things the guys were saying there,
they all respect and love you. Yeah, do you know what, like as I said, I've been doing comedy for
10 years. I quit my retail job maybe like three or four years ago and to even be in this space,
like talking to yourself Tom and how my life has changed, it's literally man,
sometimes you literally are like, this is literally, I feel like I'm in my own biopic film.
I promise you man. Well that's the next thing you've got to make is the biopic film,
you've got to do that next, you've got to do that next. Is the family round?
They're coming round a little bit later, we're all going to watch it. So I've been literally
making food, you know, making some jerk chicken, mac and cheese and stuff.
You've been in the middle of cooking and you find out, that's amazing.
I wasn't wearing this, I put this on two minutes ago.
Mo, that's so brilliant, you're so fantastic. It's such a joy to watch you and to watch your
programme but what do you think makes it special? You must be so proud of it.
I think with the programme, I've always wanted to bring warmth to TV, you know,
when you get into this space, you kind of like, who am I going to be when I'm on TV? Am I going
to be funny? Am I going to be, like obviously you want to be funny but I've always tried to
bring warmth and that's what we tried to do with the latest show, you know, it took two years to
make. Channel 4 really gave me a lot of time, worked with expectation on it to also make the
big nasty show as well and yeah, we just really wanted to make a really warm, fun show but just
a show which was a chat show and just a bit of fun, you know, it's playing games, the audience
wins stuff and yeah, you know, we always look to American programmes for that stuff so I kind of
wanted to be like, maybe I could be the British version of the Jimmy Kimball show, do you know
what I mean? Oh yeah, nice, nice. I was going to say, who's your hero? Is it Jimmy Kimball?
Yeah, I watch loads of those shows, Jimmy Kimball, even like what James Corden's done and stuff,
I just see the scale and I've always been like blown away by it so to have my own show,
you know, it was about having a, you know, getting a band on stage, seeing the audience,
it was about inclusion if I'm honest, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh well, it's phenomenal and
you're such a great guy and you work so hard so everyone is so happy for you, we were so happy
when we heard it was you so we were all screaming down here so thank you so much, thanks, no, thank
you very much for joining me. How are you going to go and celebrate now? I'm literally, it's
weirdly enough, I need to take the bins out. Yeah, that's correct, that's a lovely way to
celebrate. Keep yourself grounded, yeah definitely. Well, well, well, I'm very, we need to clear some
space, that's why you need to take the bins out, clear some space, we've got a baffler on its way.
Yeah, yeah, but it's just a huge honour, man, just for me and just the whole team,
the people that worked on it and I'm ecstatic but like just for them, like I'm so happy for them,
the people that worked on it from like the runners, from people that do the lights, there's so many
people that helped put this show together, so yeah man, I'm just over the moon. Well, that's,
it's so lovely, it's lovely that you've won, it's lovely that you are always so kind and so generous,
so it couldn't be more well deserved, so I'm so happy for you and I look forward to hearing about
other parts of your celebration when I next see you, but you just enjoy yourself and don't do
anything too, too boring, that's all, don't do anything too mundane. Bruce, definitely,
thanks a lot Tom. All right, lots of love to you Mo, congratulations. Thank you, thank you.
Take care, bye, bye for now, bye.
