Griffin Canning has certainly stood out the way that he has pitched lately. Yeah I mean his I just love his change up but it's not it's almost like it's a sinking fastball. It's going to be about ninety ninety one but his fastball velocity has been there. He's healthy this season. JP Crawford steps in Crawford swings the first pitch and pops it up. Mike Trout will call everybody off and make the catch. Love that to get that quick one pitch out batter is Julio Rodriguez had a couple of good ball games three for eight with a homer. Not that pitch to take back Kenny Bates fastball in strike three called to the inside corner to Julio Rodriguez for strikeout for Canning. Here's first baseman Ty France France very aggressive. The first pitch in play into shallow center in front of Trout. The Mariners swing in the bat against Canning early on both Crawford and France going after pitch number one brings up Kelnick who homered in the ball game on Friday. It's more likely a fastball count although Kenny's really good using his secondary pitches. At first it's a dollar to pick off of Ty France he's definitely out. Yeah and the thing is it's with a left handed throwing first baseman it's a quicker tag as compared to a right handed throwing with a longer tag. Great pick off by Kenny first batter for the Angels as we head to the bottom of the first inning. Taylor Ward is an eight twenty five VRA in the first inning as a six seventy five VRA in the third. So typically early in the games is when Logan Gilbert is susceptible to allowing some runs. So there's a high fly ball off the bat of Taylor Ward that leads it off. But in the season twenty five RBI that's down the fifth home run he is allowed in the first inning. That's pretty high total for Gilbert before he settles in. But what a swing and look at numbers. So that's now six for 13 for Taylor Ward against Logan Gilbert. Are they grounder off the bat of Ohtani Caballero though down to a need a while with the throw. But France handles it and there's one away. That'll bring up center fielder Mike Trout. It's over for a look. If he got spiked on that one Drury on that ball was lucky to be able to recover the way he did and just scoop it to Neto gives an opportunity for Julio Rodriguez to come into play with someone on. Ball gets away from Thais and Crawford advances to second and a wild pitch swing and a miss to get back. Canning goes to the change up and Julio Rodriguez strikes out to win the top of the third show. Ohtani comes to the plate leading off bottom of the third. He has been roasting at the plate and lines to right center a base hit Gilbert tried to splitter again. Ohtani has a lead off single. So here's Mike Trout at the plate. Flair to right. That's going to get down base hit for Trout. Show he's on his way to thirty will gallop there easily back to back hit. So Tony and Trout setting the table here in the third inning bring up Matt Thais who drove home a run with a base hit his first time almost to the backstop and a good job by Raleigh to save a run. It's pretty impressive to be able to reach up and catch that ball or keep it close enough where Trout at least couldn't advance. Nice drives one to right. This one pretty deep. And there's a drive right field back and as he is at the wall he leaps and makes the catch gets a run home throw goes toward second as Neto comes in. Mike Trout just missed another Grand Slam. Mike Ford will lead things off for a deep fly out to right field. This is cranked well and it's gone for a home run. His second homer of the series he leads off the fifth with a blast. Mariner's trying to inch back into this one at seven three angels bases loaded. Here comes Cal. He can tie this thing up with one swing. Blooper to left Taylor Ward coming on he makes a sliding catch and the runners don't tag. What a great read off the bat. I'm thinking oh that's trouble especially the infield defense was set up with good read and aggressive route. Gino will stand in high fly ball out to Ward and left field. It continues to carry. Herget throws to second for one over the first to a double play say goodnight to the Mariners. The angels win another series at home after sweeping the Cubs they take two out of three from Seattle. It's a five and one homestand for the Halos after a nine four win today.
