Last minute Bills news and rumors ahead of their Week 5 matchup vs the Rams...
Oct 12, 2026
We've got last-minute Bills news and rumors that you need to know
ahead of Monday night's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
This is now a must-win game for the Buffalo Bills,
who are looking to stay atop the AFC East standings with a win tonight.
But it will not be an easy task as they
are matched up with the Los Angeles Rams,
who were the preseason Super Bowl favorites heading into this year.
We are hours away from kickoff,
And I've got five big questions that we need
to examine heading into tonight's matchup.
So, welcome everybody to Bills Digest.
I'm Ben Volker and here at Bills Digest,
we've got you covered with all things related to the Buffalo Bills.
So, if you don't want to miss a thing,
make sure to go ahead, hit subscribe,
so that you can stay up to date on all Bills content just like this.
and like I said this matchup against the Rams
is now monumental considering what the Patriots did
yesterday against the Raiders if the Bills lose tonight they will
be in second place in the AFC
East heading into week six
and we saw this exact same script play out last year and the Bills
cannot afford for this to happen again they have
to stay atop the AFC East standings but I'm very
excited for this game
because this could be a potential Super Bowl preview. So if you are as
excited as I am, drop a Go Bills in the comments
and let me know that you are looking forward to
this game. And in fact, I'm so excited.
Usually I save this for the end, but let's start off off
the bat here with our score predictions.
I want to hear from you guys. What do you think tonight's
final score would be? On Friday,
when we did our game preview with Josh Geron from Rams Digest,
I said that I was taking the Rams to win 33-30.
You guys were not very happy about me, with me for that one.
So you know what?
You guys have convinced me.
I'm switching my pick.
I'm taking the Bills.
I'm feeling good now.
I wasn't feeling good on Friday.
I'm feeling good now.
Give me the Bills in this one 33-30 instead.
And we will get into the five big questions
that we are looking at in this game.
But first, I've got to let you guys know
that today's video is sponsored by Kalshi.
And on Kalshi, you are trading directly against other users,
not the house like traditional sportsbooks.
You are buying yes or no contracts on the outcome
of events across sports, politics, or even the weather.
For example, of course, on Kalshi right now,
we are looking at this Bills-Rams game.
This is a strange sight for us Bills fans
to see the Bills as the underdogs here at
only a 39% chance to win,
which is kind of crazy considering I know the Bills are coming
off of a loss where they didn't look good.
Their defense hasn't looked good,
but they still are the Buffalo Bills and they still
have Josh Allen as their quarterback.
You cannot count them out.
And I am only feeling a three-point win.
But if you are feeling more adventurous than myself,
you can place $25 on the Bills to
win by over seven and a half, which I think is very good.
It's only a 19% chance and you could
win $131 in return. That's not a bad deal.
So if you are interested in trying out Calchi, you can
use the link in the description,
trade $25 with code digest NFL and get $55 added to your account

All right, let's jump
right into things i have got the bills watch list
of what we are looking for this week and of course
the biggest question on everybody's mind is what
is going on with dj moore will he play well the
latest what we know right now is that he is going
to be questionable with a shoulder injury now he
didn't practice much throughout
the week he only logged one limited practice on saturday but joe
Brady seems dead set and intent on giving DJ Moore
at least a chance to go through pregame warm-ups
and see how he's feeling this is what Joe Brady said about DJ Moore
the other day he said DJ's a
competitor he's going to do literally everything he can
to be out here we owe it to him if he feels
he can play then we're gonna roll
with that so this to me really really feels like this is going
to be a game time decision in Los Angeles on whether
or not DJ Moore plays now regardless of
if DJ Moore is or isn't out there I do think
that we will see DJ Moore in a limited role if he is
indeed on the field think of Ladd McConkey
with the Chargers yesterday where he was active but
really wasn't used that much maybe we see him
in a decoy role drawing coverage from Trent McDuffie
But that brings me to my second biggest question of this week,
which is, of course, which wide receiver will step up?
We know that Josh Palmer is going to be inactive.
DJ Moore is a big question mark.
But like I said, whether or not he does play, if he is in there,
I don't expect him to make that much of an impact.
Which leaves us with three big guys that we are looking at.
One, you've got Khalil Shakir.
He's been a go-to option for Allen for a few years now.
Number two is the rookie, Skyler Bell,
who's going to get his first taste of NFL action.
And number three is Keon Coleman,
maybe the most complex of these three guys.
He hasn't, he's had his ups and downs in Buffalo, that's for sure.
But let's take a look at what Keon did last week against
the Patriots in DJ Moore's absence
after he went out
because he had one of his best games as a pro with the Buffalo Bills.
You can see there, 116 yards,
a crucial receiving touchdown that put the Bills up late.
Obviously, the defense wasn't able
to respond for the Bills on six catches.
This was a great game from Keon Coleman,
especially considering that DJ Moore went down
and left the Bills without their true number one.
So, in my opinion, I think look for DJ Moore,
or look for Keon Coleman, excuse me, to once again have a big game.
I think Keon Coleman, this is finally the chance we've all
been waiting for, for him to officially turn the corner and be the guy
that the Bills envisioned when they drafted him three years ago.
Well, let's take a look at number three.
My third biggest question heading into this week is, of course, the
quarterback that is going to be throwing the Bills receivers the ball.
It, of course, is Josh Allen,
and there are two versions of Josh Allen out there.
We saw Super Josh, the Josh Allen
that is an MVP candidate in week one and week two.
He looked absolutely phenomenal.
And in the past two weeks, it has been a different story.
He has not been nearly the player that we hope for in Buffalo.
He's only thrown one passing touchdown over the last two games.
He's thrown three interceptions.
He's looking like early season Drake
May out there right now, Josh Allen is.
But if there's one thing that gives me confidence
that we will see Super Josh back in action
tonight is because of what he did against the LA Rams two years ago
when he went absolutely
insane and just scored six touchdowns against the Rams here.
You can see his stats against the Rams versus
his stats from this year on the screen here.
and this only shows his passing stats three passing touchdowns he
also scored three times
on the ground and ran for over 80 yards he did it all against
the Rams last last time they matched
up it wasn't enough the Bills still lost that one
not much has changed in Buffalo as you can see
uh but if there was ever a time for Josh Allen
to get right it would be this week and get back on
that MVP level course that he was uh projected
to be on after the first two weeks but that's
enough about our offense let's talk about the defense
because i know this is a sore topic a
sore subject for a lot of people the biggest question can
the defense make a stop i know it's
a simple ask can the defense make a stop
but they were not able to do that at all last week against
the patriots it seemed like they could never get off
the field on third down when they did make a
stop on third down the patriots just went for it on fourth down
and got it anyways and in particular
I'm looking at this Bills secondary
that was just absolutely garbage last week.
They made Romeo Dobbs
and Efton Chisholm look like superstar wide receivers,
which we all know they're not.
But the Rams do have superstar wide receivers, two of them, in fact.
One of the most dangerous duos in the league.
You see Puka Nakua and Davante Adams here.
These are their stats from last year.
And, I mean, Puka, clear number one guy when he's healthy.
He is a very, very dangerous player.
But you cannot forget about Davante Adams in the red zone.
He is Matt Stafford's go-to guy.
So it is going to be a tough task
for especially Maxwell Harrison coming off that brutal game
he had against the Patriots.
At least the Bills are going to have Christian Benford back.
He hasn't been great this year,
but it is nice that he will be suiting up.
Also, one other thing I'm looking
at for this defense is that Ed Oliver is out.
so don't forget about Kyron Williams he ran all over
the Eagles last week he is certainly capable
of doing it again this week so really look for Deion Walker
and Dwayne Carter to step up in
Ed Oliver's place all right last thing I'm looking
at here number five my fifth biggest question
maybe the biggest question of all is how does Joe Brady respond
to his first loss as the head coach
of the Buffalo Bills. Seems simple in concept.
What does he do to bounce back? Because first
three weeks when you're winning and rolling, that's the easy part.
Now he's got to face the
adversity, especially considering
his defense really melted down postgame in the locker room.
C.J. Garner-Johnson running his mouth,
talking trash about Efton Chisholm. You had Maxwell
Hairston storming out of the uh
of the locker room didn't even stick around for press conferences
how does dj how does joe brady really bring this group together
and regroup and refocus on the task
at hand and honestly this is where i get worried
because about cj garner johnson he said that he
liked what cj garner johnson said it's good
for the defensive players to get it off their chest
no accountability there i did not like
that but the one other part that i did not like that joe
Brady said in his press conference following
the Patriots loss was this quote about what the
difference is bouncing back after a loss
as opposed to a win let's go ahead and read what
Joe Brady had to say here the wins
and losses are all the same to me I don't mean that in a negative
way the last three times we've left
the stadium I've left pissed off the wins and losses are never
what it's about it's about it's about how we
are playing clean winning football and giving ourselves
a chance to win. And I am not buying that for one second.
I am sorry. There is no way you are
walking out of that stadium after the Lions game,
the same as you are walking out last week against
the Patriots. There's just absolutely no way.
I know even after wins, there are stuff to improve,
but this kind of nonchalant attitude when it comes to wins
and losses just irritates me because yes,
every team wins and loses games.
That's just, that's just the reality in the NFL, but it's the
crucial games it's the divisional games it's against
your biggest opponent in the division
that really are the ones you can't afford to lose
and there's there's no way that a loss
against the Patriots is the same
as a late season loss against some NFC team when things are already
kind of settled into place there's no way
so you sit here and you say this I'm just I'm not buying
it i'm sorry i'm not buying this from joe brady here
but we will just have to wait and see what
this bills team looks like this week
those are my five biggest questions that i have going into the
game uh once again leave your score predictions down
in the comments i am very curious to see
what you guys say i am looking very forward
to this game tonight i will have a post game reaction
coming out after the game late night
so stick around for that as always keep it here on bills
digest for more bills news
and rumors as always thanks for watching and of course go bills
