Knicks Hiding SERIOUS Injury - This is TERRIFYING...
Oct 12, 2026
The New York Knicks are hiding a very serious injury
to one of their star players and this
is absolutely terrifying for the Knicks going
into this season where health was such a big
thing considering the injuries in the Eastern Conference
and now with multiple injury updates
we're seeing the Knicks do something
that nobody saw coming just a couple of days ago and we're
going to break all this down.
What exactly the Knicks recoil of a plan is as they're very clearly
hiding an injury that's more serious than meets
the eye something we've seen before with Leon Rose
and this New York Knicks front office we're going
to break down exactly what these injuries are
what the Knicks are dealing with right now
and how they are planning to rectify this situation
there's a lot to go over on the Knicks tonight guys
and we're going to waste no time jumping
right into it but real quick if you are part
of that 57 that's not subscribed to Knicks Digest
make sure to subscribe so you don't miss
a single Knicks update all year long obviously there's a
ton of stuff going on with the Knicks
and we are not slowing down with all the great videos guys
But let's jump right into it.
There's a lot to go over on this team.
As Mike Brown was discussing the New York Knicks injuries,
going into tomorrow's game against
the none other than the Cleveland Cavaliers,
the team who is also dealing with some injuries,
and like the Knicks, is at the very top
of the expectations for the Eastern Conference.
With that being said, the Knicks,
we knew that Josh Hart was dealing with an injury for a while.
He fell on his back, and that was a whole issue,
and we're still waiting to hear back from Josh Hart, who is out.
But now also on top of this,
Mitchell Robinson will be missing tomorrow's game as well.
as we already have seen it begun with Robinson
and this injury-concerned situation.
As it was mentioned by James Edwards,
that the situation involving Mitchell Robinson is a bit peculiar.
The often-injured big man who played a pivotal role in the Knicks' run
to the Eastern Conference Finals last season after
not making his debut until late February
played in the Knicks' first three preseason games before exiting
in the middle of the third game
when the rest of the starters kept playing.
Robinson didn't end the last regular season injured,
nor has the team said he was injured during training camp.
Mike Brown has continued to say
that Robinson hadn't practiced in two weeks due to workload
management on top of that Brown said there's probably
a chance that I'll try to duplicate
the lineups whatever duplication means just to try
to keep everything else consistent and I feel
we have especially early on you want to give guys opportunities
so you can see if guys can really
handle it or not and so I think we feel pretty deep time will tell
and so I will probably duplicate
the lineups more than change it.
But don't hold me to that.
And that's in regards to what the starting lineup is going to be.
So not only are we seeing that Mitchell Robinson is injured,
and apparently it's because of load management.
It's the first game of the year.
I don't know how it's load management that Mitchell Robinson
has not been practicing for two weeks.
Clearly, Mitchell Robinson hurt his ankle,
because it did say left ankle load management.
And on top of that, this does mean that Mitchell Robinson
is now expected to be the starter for game one
of the 2025-2026 NBA season.
something that none of us would have seen coming just
a couple days ago there was nothing on
Mitchell Robinson getting hurt
and now all of a sudden he's missing this game because of load
management issues and Jonathan McRae's absolutely right
to assume that Mitchell Robinson's re-injured
his ankle now as he said there's
no conceivable reason why he would start the preseason and play
18 minutes in the first preseason half
and no less play again a again the next game leaving the
middle of the third game when all other starters
kept playing miss practice for nearly two weeks
and now miss opening night the Knicks can dance around
this all they want and often injured player
got hurt whatever it is whether it's a minor
or major injury something clearly happened to Mitchell
Robinson and frankly he's right there's
no way around it I mean Mike Brown we've seen what he
said he said that Mike Brown repeatedly he says
that reportedly says that the Knicks are operating
under a workload management mindset with Mitchell Robinson Brown
is unsure if Robinson will play the
season opener though that's the thing that's not load management
and I mean we see that's a mill
who responded to this and he had
a very good injury translation as he said he's the number
one injury translator for Knicks
and Mets players he said let me translate for the confused fans
Mitch had two foot surgeries in the last two
to three years he's likely dealing with soreness
after pushing himself through training camp
and practice going quite hard then when someone
mentioned that that's not load managing during the playoffs last year
and closer to his surgery and
more workload management but load management
for game one of the regular season is weird
to which that's a no responded with when you have
an injury history these things pop up
all the time there's no one that feels great throughout a season
and Mitch was probably in
solid shape heading into the postseason after
a long ramp up before finally playing in mid-year
it makes sense that it happens early as well
because now he's back here's the thing that is
definitely true about that Robinson was ramped up
for a long time Robinson was supposed to come back
in December then it was January
then it was February to March he consistently got that
pushed back and it likely wasn't because he wasn't fully ready it's
because the Knicks wanted to make
sure he was fully healthy that he
was doing everything that he had to do to be in full
health for the Knicks going forwards
which does make sense and likely that's what we're seeing
again the Knicks have a new just director of like health
and everything and that's Casey Smith who's
been absolutely excellent at his job
the Knicks training staff won multiple awards for the amount
of just players that stayed healthy OG Anunoby played
a high in games despite the high minutes
that he had the career high in minutes we saw
a whole lot of this happen we saw Mikal stay healthy
throughout the season or mainly healthy he played
through some injuries that we didn't really hear
about and that's a Mikal
also continued by saying I don't have a feel for the situation but I'm
going to say I think the organization has
their eyes set on one thing Mitch being a go for the
postseason we saw how he changed to the Celtics series
and that's the goal not an extra one to
two wins in the first one of the or in the first week of the year
which is 100% correct that is
likely what's going on here is that what happened
is Mitchell Robinson is at the end of the day
dealing with ankle soreness that makes sense he's had two surgeries
on his ankle that happens all
the time with athletes you think that these athletes
are always 100 healthy they're not
Mikal Bridges has played through multiple
injuries throughout his career he played through
injuries with the Knicks last year that's just how Mitchell
is and Mitchell Robinson he's injury
prone so when his ankle is hurting the Knicks don't want to push him
because of the fact that
after hurting his ankle he came back
and dealt with a stress fracture for a while which caused
another whole can of worms to be opened
when he went down with that injury that's the big fear
that when he went down with that stress injury
and then had to have another operation after that
there was a lot of concern surrounding Mitch
and what was going to happen and that makes sense
because at the end of the day the Knicks don't
need Mitch today they don't need Mitch tomorrow
they don't need him this month next month the month after
or the month after that they don't
need him in until March really they don't
that's what Mitch is really needed for the Knicks they
are not going to push him Casey Smith is not going
to push him against his will he's going to make
sure everything's going to be all right Mitch
was doing non-contact work for the majority of practice
working on his free throws
and doing that stuff he doesn't I mean he's bending his knees so he's
putting pressure on his ankle
and his foot it's not like he's injured he's not he's in pain from
past injuries and because of that it's being hidden
the problem is work management and just
not playing for two straight weeks means
that soreness has been lingering that is a worrisome
sign that is signs that something is very likely
a lot more wrong than meets the eye fans should be
just very cautious about this moving forwards
in regards to Robinson the Knicks have kept him
around for a while because he's been able to deal
with all this and also let's not forget this has
happened under the Knicks before we didn't know
anything about Mitch for the longest time with
the injury remember when Julius Randle dislocated his shoulder
and everyone was wondering oh when
will he be back and they kept saying he
was ramping it up doing good work getting closer
getting closer getting closer getting closer he
had surgery he's out for the year never plays
for the Knicks again that's the thing here we don't see
the Knicks ever give away their hand
on the injuries they keep things as close to the vest
as possible it's just how they operate it's
how they always have operated under Leon Rose
and because of that there are going to be people who
do think that this is more serious than meets the eye
and Ian Begley even sort of just mentioned
everything surrounding the Knicks saying
on Mitchell Robinson the Knicks have said they
will manage his workload all season he hasn't practiced
this week the Knicks don't want him
to play unless he's 100% healthy ramped up
per league source the Knicks also say Robinson has
not suffered a new injury Robinson
and the Knicks medical team are working together on a season-long
plan obviously the goal is to have him healthy
for the postseason will be a challenge for Mike
Brown to not have Robinson on some nights certainly
not ideal for a team with title aspirations but
here's the thing take these words very carefully
because there is something that plays out here
Obviously, with Robinson saying that there isn't
a new injury, that's part of that.
It's not a new injury, but they
also don't want him to play unless he's 100% healthy.
That means he's not 100% healthy.
That means he's dealing with ankle pain
in his left ankle, the one that he's had stress
injuries and other injuries on as well in his career.
That means the Knicks are not going to play Robinson at all.
If he's dealing with any sort of pain in his ankle,
the Knicks, they're making sure that
Mitch tells them so he can rest.
I'm telling you, I don't expect Mitch
to play any more than 50 games this year.
I don't want Mitch to play any more than 50 games this year
because I want Mitch healthy
in the playoffs.
If that's what it has to take, I'm fine with that.
Also, that means Ariel Okolie gets a real shot
to show if he's an NBA player or not.
If he's not, if he can't hang,
the Knicks are going to make some deal at the deadline
so they could add another big man who they trust more.
That's just going to be a part of it,
but I really don't expect that to be the case.
I expect Okolie to come out and play excellent basketball.
The man has shown time and time again
that he can pull down rebounds, score in the low
block, make some nice passes, play at the high post,
put the ball on the floor, defend
the rim.
I want Okolie to start tomorrow because I want to see what happens.
I think Okolie is a lot better than people are realizing,
and I think that Ariel Okolie is about to shock a lot of people
in tomorrow's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers,
and I am so excited for it.
Guys, what do you think about the Mitchell Robinson situation?
That is going to be something I do want to hear your guys' thoughts on
in the comments down below, but also quickly
in regards to Josh Hart as well.
Josh is dealing with that back spasm thing.
Right now his back is spasming after dealing with some pain,
and James Edwards mentioned that Hart first injured himself
during the Knicks' first preseason game when he fell down awkwardly
in the first half against the 76ers.
He didn't appear in a preseason game after that.
Hart wasn't practiced with the team in two weeks
and has been, or but has been doing individual on-court work
and is running.
There is no timetable for when Hart will return
as his injury is considered tricky
and will be monitored closely by the organization.
It's very clear what's going on here.
If the Knicks are dealing with any injury,
they're going to be very careful about it moving forward.
It's just their plan.
And also with Hart, the work he shoulders is a lot of,
it's the dirty work.
So you want him to be healthy for that.
You don't want him to be worn down.
I mean, Josh Hart literally admitted
that he just had nothing left in the tank
by the end of the postseason last year.
The Knicks don't want that.
So they're going to rest their guys,
and they're going to rest their guys like crazy.
It's just that they want Mike Brown
in many ways to be the anti-Thibodeau
with that type of stuff, and that's exactly what's going to happen.
It's going to be interesting to see how it all goes down.
Let me know what you think about Josh Hart's injury as well.
