Let's bring you some breaking news now. We're hearing in the last few minutes that King Charles
has met the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak face to face at Buckingham Palace. These are pictures
that have just come into us here at The World Today on BBC News. The meeting happened late
on Wednesday afternoon marking the restart of their weekly encounters to talk about
all matters of government. Now of course on the 6th of February we heard that King Charles had
been diagnosed with cancer and at that point we were told that meetings would be held remotely.
This however is a sign that that's changing. King Charles has now held an in-person Privy
Council at the Royal Residence where we hear the attendees would have included the Lord President
of the Council Penny Mordaunt. Now the King has of course been dealing throughout this time
with his red boxes of state papers behind the scenes having started that outpatient treatment
for the undisclosed form of cancer just over two weeks ago. So there you have it, the King
has met the Prime Minister face to face for the first time since that cancer diagnosis.
