Hey guys Welcome to Episode 2 of our Singapore trip For all the foodie lovers out there including me This episode is the one for you One of the best things about traveling is getting to try the local cuisine And Singapore is home to unexpected pairings Also a transformed dining experience So first stop we are currently now at Amoy Street Food Center Where we're going to try the Crispy Curry Cloth It's Michelin We all have an idea when it's Michelin He's expensive dear But here in Singapore we can find Michelin but affordable So let's give it a try Let's go We just got here the smell is already here the aroma is already here Diba not yet 12 we smell food But it's okay because today is all about food And we're just going to eat eat eat all day We're here guys Okay and we're here Crispy Curry Puff But it's not just curry they have We have many varieties They have Crispy Black Pepper Chicken Puff Crispy Yam Paste Puff Sardine Puff and Curry Potato Chicken Puff So Singapore's best food Ooh it's definitely top-rated And it's not expensive Hello hi That's him they're making it right now currently I think we should have an order for each and then we can try them out Have I ever tried Crispy Curry Puff But we got one of everything We reviewed all kinds of them each one This is the Crispy Curry Puff Then there's the Black Pepper Chicken Puff next to it Then this is the Sardine Puff I'm going to ask my team's help so we can all try them together Oh wow gotta open That's him inside oh This is the Black Pepper Chicken It has onion It's not at all what I expected but let's give it a try Wow spicy Oh very spicy indeed So this O M Curry Chicken I think their bestseller is yan yung How is it Curry NASA puff language The sardine Sardine very tasty Everything was just placed into a when inside as a Filipino I prefer it with rice Rather than wrapped in a puff It is actually really good I suggest if you're going to eat it This packaging is good But for the price it's overpriced lot So I saw a lot of this concept in Italy They have the all-in-the-wall concep where they have their cappuccino and biscotti They'll just serve it like this Exactly like what we are doing right now So when I saw the shop I said Hey come on We can bring Milan a bit to Singapore A little bit closer to everyone Okay so great Good thing there's tarik And we'll give it a try and let you know Again having has raspberry lime juice and basil It's more like sweet and sour Sweet and sour Yeah that's right My goodness it looks so good Inspired by Brazilian farmers Something reminds me of Brazil Oh my god you're right It's sweet and sour It's like the best of both worlds And I love raspberries so much It's really good This is really something I would have by the beach Let's try eating a raspberry I'm excited The next one I'm going to serve you is a Cuban drink It's an elevator version of Mojito Okay Refreshing Okay refreshing minty and sour Is the base rum Yep it's a rum base Havana Club That's what we're talking about I have never had drinks at a tailor shop In fact here in Taylor This is the Cuban drink Everything is so good Honestly if you' re a cocktail lover you're just living your best life right now And I'm living my best life right now Everything we're having right now is Taylor Adams' bestsellers So this Cuban drink is for everyone who prefers something refreshing light and minty And this is for everyone who's a bit sour and sweet Is there any way we could drink it at the same time I'm really into cocktails that I could have more than one kind of cocktail in a nig sliders and truffle fries This is the sauce for that And on the side I can actually customize the drink for me So bespoke For example I walk in I tell the bartender what I want or what I'm looking for in a drink You can actually ask for that And then they can mix that up for you What kind of base do I want Actually I think I'll go with gin for now That's how you do it guys What are we going to call this drink The ju drink Because bringing good ju everywhere Good ju means good luck by the way Okay I'm gonna try the truffle fries now Guys promise I'm not going to finish so you can try I love the truffle topping And I love how the sauce has chili in it It's a bit spicy This is the drink that's perfect for me and this is officially called the ju drink That's magic That's everything I like and delicious things here This one This I think I want to try this though So we would like to order two croffins And then I want to try your donuts the plain one Hey guys I just served up some drinks This one is their hibiscus and then this one is the mango with lemon I want to try both of them so I'll let you guys know So this one is the hibiscus one Okay that's good Okay they're both good But in general they're delicious And maybe they drink it this way But since I'm Filipino and I like everything sweeter Let's try them with extra sweetener Okay so this one is hibiscus with white sugar Ayan it's much better Then I got another one for our iced tea with lemon I think they surprised us Much much sweeter Actually you know what I'm enjoying this one so much because it's so refreshing If I could choose both I'll go with the iced tea with lemon Okay you guys So our croffin This is the hybrid of a croissant and a muffin So we're going to give it a try So never have I ever tried a croffin But I feel like the magic begins here So we're gonna get a piece of that We caught him It's very good If I could explain what my favorite taste is I would say it's the croissant The Yung flavor of this hybrid between a croissant and a muffin is Thai milk tea But I could taste more the croissant We'll go ahead with the donut Ito may strawberry topping siya eh with sprinkle I love anything that's sugar-coated So I think this will work Onto the donut Oh my God If you ask me guys I'll still go with the sugar-coated donut I just let him have the strawberry topping they put on it I think there's cream cheese on top of this Which is also really good So I'm going to get one already Let's try it with cream cheese But honestly guys we' ll get the sugar-coated donut Tapos we'll take the strawberry icing Which they call confetti It's my favorite one His experience is like strawberry icing on a sugar-coated donut That's actually how it tastes Another order is coming up It's savory too It's also a toppings I'm not sure which one is more overpowering The cream cheese or the toppings It's really good actually You know this donut is really growing on me After a while it all blends together so perfectly So I feel like it's something I would have for brunch with a nice latte This one is bacon with jam Obviously croissant Wow We'll try this part Looks like it's the best part Let's try it Oh my god this is amazing Oh my god it's exploding in my mouth Never have I ever been so confused Wow this one's so perfectly made So crispy on the outside plus some bacon some jam Okay so I'm the kind of person who doesn't like a lot of things happening But for the first time in my 25 years look at that Okay so we've tried all of it What I really loved was this one Bacon jam and dried tomatoes I will choose this because I'm not a breakfast person I'm a brunch person And I feel like this is the perfect take on it Although this one's really good It's really covered in sugar And then for the donut I think it'll depend on how you're feeling in the end Overall I would go with this one Bacon jam sun-dried tomatoes And I think I'll still go with the cream cheese one I'll go with this plate So for those visiting Singapore and you don't know which places to visit I highly recommend Mr Home's Bakehouse It's not hard to find and there are so many choices to pick Must try I could be raw I could be tall I'll make you feel really uncomfortable Never have I ever made a donut from scratch Woo Everything looks so good This is Chef Jen She's the one from Pastel Chef Oh no Okay okay Whoa check out this Basque burnt cheese Okay Yeah So basically this area is our display We have about 12 flavors today So it's like an Italian name for a stuffed donut YeahAnd then sour bomb means sourdough Yes Do you like sourdough Yes I love sourdough Thanks for coming here Oh thanks for having us We're excited to try I hope you'll have fun in the process as well Are you more of a fruity person or do you like deeper flavors No I like everything that's really sweet Really sweet Yeah This is my personal favorite Okay this is her personal favorite It's their strawberry milk Okay okay It's actually refreshing Yeah You think it'll be too sweet right What's inside is fresh strawberries Strawberry jam So it's like a very very light fruity texture It is I don't know It's exactly what you want from a donut Wow The bread is really soft And I love that it's sugar-coated But it's not too much It's not overwhelming I think we always try to balance it Because you know a classic donut always has sugar on the outside Right yeah We want flavors inside to balance the sugar Right yeah You get that crunch from the coating Yeah You get a sour sweet flavor Who wants to try the strawberry Who wants to take the strawberry from Tom Since you're wearing pink now You guys it's really amazing how young we are now Because we really meet a lot of people who are my age That are really opening up successful businesses At a young age Yeah and everyone is extra hardworking these days Yeah same here Hardworking women you know Everyone here is a hardworking woman So we're going to try the customer favorite So this one that's why I say it's bitter because it's savory and sweet The inside has something like blue cheese Blue cheese So it's a bit funky So there's blue cheese inside There is blue cheese inside Let's see I think I like it yeah Do you get it It's a really good funky And then it grows inside you How do you know it's going to happen when you were making this I eat a lot I tried it in a restaurant And they had blue cheese in their Basman cheesecake Yeah And it just gave this really funky fun flavor And I was like ooh I want to recreate that in a donut Yeah yeah This one took us like I think months Like a month I think Months We keep trying again and again Balancing the flavor Yeah And it's so funny There' s only one brand of blue cheese that actually works Can I just say something It just works Like it just- It's so hard to explain I have customers who eat to this point They have their own blowtorch And they torch it more Yeah Because they love the burnt flavor And because it works so well with the blue cheese honestly When you take your first bite it's funky And then after a while everything just blends together And it makes sense Yep I love it I love her explanation I love my explanation It just makes sense You can't explain it But it just makes sense I think that's true for all foods right I think people just make it so complicated Right yeah At the end of the day is it delicious That is my question YeahYeah you can do all kinds of things Is it working That's the question It's so delicious Oh my gosh That's how I understand why my friend was jumping around so much So our donut workshop begins now Jen is going to teach us how to make her best-selling items And first will be the pancake This is like a donut that's already fried proofed and sugared It really is like a circle If you're not sure just hold the donut like that Hold this Oh my goodness yes Okay So it's not heavy Yeah but you'll notice the difference You can tell yeah Okay okay So we're going to feel the weight Yeah I can feel it You can really feel it guys So for me because the donut is gaining weight Then we're going to make the topping We're here Like that Yeah Not bad This one's cuter I mean it's cute though Have you used this before No I haven't Okay so this is the knot Yeah So you just have to press to the left Can you hear the sound Yeah Okay So the degree of burntness is a matter of personal preference I like mine burnt Burnt Burnt baby Burnt Hey guys First time using this I'll try my best It depends on how burnt you want it to be Hey if I really burn it then I can go further Yeah So the other side is a bit Sunog But the rest is Oo You can finish the rest Okay Yeah you're doing well Looks good We like it a bit more charred Okay For those who don't like it quite so charred More It's too much It's really burnt If you like burnt things Okay so this is just some strawberries Okay That's like just macerated with a little sugar And then it's like fresh strawberries And we just put in like a teaspoon So they don't get a bit messy Yeah But messy is good Hey guys So the first step is to give her strawberries So this is actually more steps But that's her personal favorite And then we're just going to do a pinch A pinch Okay and then the strawberry jam And then we're just going to sprinkle some raspberries It's really sour Okay Okay okay also our last food spot and the unexpected pairings For example this right now it's pork ribs But the toppings are powdered milk I really don't know what to expect from it but I'm very curious So we're going to give it a try Never have I ever tried pork ribs with milk powder It's all big but anyway Let's try it with rice It's good I like it I wonder how they even came up with this dish that they made a pork rib with milk powder on top It's really good especially with rice It's really good This is tofu with garlic crisps Let's try this marmite chicken now It looks savory It smells like garlic It's like sweet chicken It's very savory It's really good The chicken is tender With the garlic crisps it's even better So we're trying out ingredients that you wouldn't expect to mix But this is going so well Okay guys So we're going to try tofu with minced beef I don't like tofu but I'll give it a try I can see why people would like it But if I had a choice I'd stick with these two Maybe somebody can try this out for us This looks like fried chicken but it's actually shrimp So we'll have the team try it out I'm so happy about this Yeah It's not a hassle to eat because there are no bones Yeah But you know what This reminds me of I don't know if that's what you guys did when you were kids You put Milo in the rice No I think you've tried that I've tried that He doesn't think yeah
