Monaco is the most expensive country on planet earth.
Here one every three residents is a
millionaire. I think we should answer the most common question
which is why Monaco is so rich
and there are four main reasons.
You don't pay any taxes and a very small studio will cost you
millions of dollars.
Guys this is literally a studio 50 square meter 4.6 million euro
I cannot believe this there
are so many more interesting facts about this tiny tiny country
so guys you will think that this is monaco right
but actually it's not so sit back relax
and enjoy this video good
morning guys from monaco
the richest place
on earth
also the most safe and
the most densely populated we're gonna learn many things about
this tiny place but at the same time
the most exclusive and luxurious place
on the planet welcome to monaco let's take a quick step
back and let me tell you that i'm riding through southern france
with my own motorbike i left the
Gorge du Verdon which is incredible
and then i made it to monte carlo as soon as you approach
monte carlo you can feel straight away that you're entering
into a different world you casually see
Bugattis everywhere and you're like what the hell
is going on here just to give you an idea this
Bugatti Chiron that you're seeing right now costs
around 4 million euros right now and in Monaco
you can see hundreds of cars like this every day
and on top of that without knowing it I arrived
the day after the F1 Monaco Grand Prix the Monaco one
is probably the most exclusive and the most
special of F1 and they were still dismantling
and cleaning the entire city
here you have the most
exclusive and the biggest
yachts in the world as you can
see and also one time per year they have
the yacht exhibition so all the yachts
from around the world that come here
and it's like a massive show and the one
behind looks like a yacht
but it's actually a building and that's the Yacht
club they literally built it exactly
as a yacht this one guys
is the famous tunnel of the Formula
One and thinking that just yesterday they were racing
is crazy look at this and you know what's
crazier meeting Charles Leclerc just outside
the tunnel i don't know if you can see him because
he's quite far but he's taking a selfie
with the fan guys it's unbelievable i just met Charles
Leclerc with his girlfriend walking
by i didn't stop him i didn't ask him anything because i
didn't want to you know like ruin his privacy
but i was like whoa Charles Leclerc is here
what you are looking at right now completely shocked me
because this condo right in front of us
is called Le Renzo
and it's the most expensive real estate in the world buying a unit here
can cost minimum 70 million us dollars
for a simple condo all the way up to 550 million us
dollars so half a billion us dollar for a condo
this is absolutely insane man you can buy an
archipelago of islands or a massive five-star luxury resort
in France or Italy or Thailand
or you can even save the life of millions of kids
and even lift an entire population out of poverty
but here in Monaco you get a condo
and this really shows how expensive this little country is
this entire area guys is called Terra Mare
and it's basically the newest district of Monaco
and the interesting thing is that it
was just water until just few years ago so because Monaco
has a space problem so basically there is no more space to build
because the the country is so small
they basically reclaim the ocean
and they build this incredible like neighborhood basically with
luxury condos hotels a nice walk just along the ocean
and it's super fascinating to see how
because they don't have any more space on the land they
are basically expanding into the sea now
the thing that surprised me the most about
this building is that anybody can just walk under the
building and around and there is not much privacy
and security around here considering that is the
most expensive condo
in the world i think we should answer
the most common question which is
why Monaco is so rich and there are four main reasons
the first one is that it's the first
place in Europe that had a legal casino.
Technically it's not the first one the
first one was opened in Venice in 1638
and later on also in France in the 1700s
but all those casinos they were later shut down
and banned while this casino
the Monte Carlo casino opened in 1863
and as you can see it's still open today
day and over the decades brought a lot of money
and wealth into Monaco the second reason is that
they remove personal income tax so you paid zero percent
and also capital gains tax so a lot of
rich people and millionaires
and billionaires start to move here to Monaco i will tell you
more about this shortly because actually Monaco
is not tax free for everybody the third reason is
that it's located right here I mean let me show you look
at this I mean there is not much to
explain you have the beautiful mountains behind
and then a blue clean ocean and you have Italy
very near and then all around is France
so tourists are happy to come here and visit but
most importantly rich people are happy to move here
and start their new life in this beautiful
place and the fourth reason is that this place
is called Principality of Monaco
and principality
means that there is a prince here ruling the the country
and it's the Grimaldi family and it's one
of the richest and most powerful families in the world
if you're ultra wealthy you want to live in
a place that protects you and keeps you safe
and also where you can have a little bit of fun
and Monaco it's all of this and mostly thanks
to the Grimaldi family do you see this green area
this one is the Rock of Monaco
and on top of it the town is called Monaco-Ville and this building
right here inside Monaco-Ville is the Prince's Palace
that's where Prince Albert II the current
ruler of Monaco and his family live
and an interesting fact is that the Grimaldis has
ruled this tiny country of Monaco
for more than 700 years this is the Monaco beach guys
it's not so big but it's actually pretty nice
and consider that this is the most densely populated
country in the world the water is pretty clear
it's good that the Fondation Prince Albert II
of Monaco they also take care
of underprivileged communities there it is i'm actually going there
very soon to Indonesia
so we will see this with our own eyes stay tuned for that
Monaco it's a very small bubble
and it's very easy here to get detached from the rest of the world
the truth is that most of the world is struggling unfortunately
and it's beautiful to see when super
wealthy people they don't forget the rest of the world
and they decide to help and support
when I see these kind of things it
really gives me a lot of respect
for them talking about Charles
Leclerc which I just saw here in Monaco there
is zero percent tax not for everybody but for the
individuals so here it's perfect if you are like an actor for example
or like a sportsman like
Charles Leclerc or maybe like a tennis player as well
and all kind of sports and it's also great
if you are an investor or any kind of business
that it's like a physical person but for businesses
and corporations there are actually taxes
so it's not actually zero percent for everybody
so even though Monaco is so expensive to live here it's still worth it
because of the money
that you save by not paying taxes capital gain taxes
and individual taxes so because Monaco is
so small has been built on different layers
and all around the city and all around the country
basically it's full of like public elevators that are free
and you can just use them to move from
one level to another level here is another public elevator
so yeah Monaco is considered to be the
richest city in the world because one every three
people residents here they are multi-millionaire
38 percent of the residents
are multimillionaire much more than Singapore much more than any other
place in the world it doesn't have the highest number of millionaires
because in places like
New York London there are more millionaires here
is compared to the amount of people living here
because it's such a small country that the percentage
of millionaires is extremely high
the highest one in the world so imagine you walk around
and one every three people it's a
multi-millionaire you can definitely see it you know
as you can see guys the average price for a
home in Monaco is no less than 2 million this is on 2.2 million
but many of them 3 million
8.5 million euros three million i mean it doesn't take much right
because if the average house here
even just a small apartment costs like two three
five seven million euros you can just sell one
and you are a multi-millionaire so it's kind of easy
so the smallest country in the world is the
Vatican which is inside Rome i wouldn't even consider a country
but it's actually a country
and Monaco is the second one it's only two square kilometer
and they've built literally everywhere
like every single centimeter they are building
because there is literally no space even here
you can see now they're probably building like another condo over there
so every little space
even under this bridge you know it's so small
but they find a space to probably build another
condo over there unbelievable you can see how
every building is literally attached to the next
one there is such a little space look at this
apartment guys 194 square meters 12 million euros
and this is the rent this one is like 40,000 euros
per month 150,000 euros per month 6,500 25,000
i think the cheapest one that i found
is this one 3,200 euros per month for the studio 41 square
meter this one i think
is the old part of Monaco
because it feels more
authentic and also the
buildings are a bit older i'm gonna get a slice
of pizza pizza reine i have a lot of delicious stuff
here an interesting fact is that Monaco
is smaller than New York Central Park which is 3.4 square
kilometers while here it's only two square kilometers
so imagine a country being smaller
than a park guys this is crazy i thought i was like
in the old part of Monaco and i was telling
you yeah this feels like more authentic more traditional older building
but this is actually
France i already crossed from Monaco to France
so basically on this side of the road is Monaco
and on this side of the road is France
so here you have zero percent tax and a very different
legislation and most importantly a very expensive cost of living
and just across the street
you're in France you have to pay taxes
but also the cost of living is much lower so to better
show you this invisible line between France
and Monaco let me bring you to a beautiful place in
France we will come back to Monaco very soon
because there are other interesting things that
i want to share with you
by the way it's absolutely
crazy to ride the exact
same streets as the F1
cars literally yesterday in this tunnel the
F1 cars were flying at 300 kilometers per hour
unbelievable man what a feeling it's really really hard to explain
and this is Monaco man
this way well this is insane
so beautiful so i just met
these two guys from Poland
and i'm shocked because they basically walk all
the way from Nice up here
How long did it take you to come all the way from here?
six hours
hours.
So you will think that this is Monaco, right?
But actually just half of it is Monaco,
because this part where you see the orange, brownish roofs,
the soccer field and then all this part, it's all France.
Monaco is just the other half where you see all the modern buildings
on the coast and that's it.
And then the port area and this part.
now you really understand how small
and why it's just two square kilometer those two guys they did
25 kilometers today all in the mountains like all hiking they left
at 9 30 in the morning and
they just arrived here on top of the mountain now at 4 30 pm
and now they still have to go down to
Monaco to check it out and then they will take
a train back to Nice and this road to ride is
so much fun and the view is just breathtaking it's called Avenue
du Cap d'Aille and i just took it
randomly if you're familiar with this area let me know
if there are similar roads to this one
or maybe even better one because i would love to come back
but for now let's go back to Monaco
because i still want to explain you how to get the residency
and move here if you have the money
but the main reason why the real estate
is so expensive of course
because the space is very
limited but mostly because in order to become a resident of Monaco
so to pay like zero taxes
you need to buy a property here in the municipality
or you need to rent a property here so that's
mandatory in order to become a Monaco resident
and also you have to deposit at least 500,000 euros
on a local bank account
so now you understand why you need to be kind of
wealthy to move here not only you have to rent
or buy here but you also have to
deposit money and then of course once you get
the residency here you also need
to live here so you need the money
to afford to live in a place like here
because if you don't stay
at least 180 days here you will lose the residency so
you actually have to live here at least six months per year
and because so many
wealthy people want to move to Monaco
but they don't have space so then they
keep building and building
and the prices they keep going up and up to the
point where they have to build on the water
to kind of satisfy the demand this
one is the Monte Carlo Casino
and for example this kind of condos which are
kind of new and literally in the heart
of the city they probably cost 10
million dollars and up
at least probably like 50 million dollars per condo part
of the Mareterra project they
also made this Japanese garden in the heart of the
city man this is super cool
and even though Monaco
is a concrete jungle I really
appreciate and I really like how much effort
and care they put into green
spaces gardens and parks really really nice they've done
a really really good
job man now that I see
so many super cars everywhere
literally all the time
even now just a Lambo past you don't
have any feeling you know you take it
for granted it's just normal don't get
me wrong here I really really love cars
so you never get tired of seeing beautiful cars
but the truth is that you
get desensitized when you see so many supercars
and so much luxury all around. Actually this is
true for everything in life, every material object in this world.
You get used to it and the excitement
wears off very quickly.
It can be a new iPhone, a house, a car, a boat, a jet.
Just as humans we start
to take whatever we see or whatever we possess for granted
and the dopamine in our brain is gone
very quickly so when you come to places like
this at the beginning you're like very shocked it was
like wow it's like a playground
but then very quickly you get used to it so i think this is a
great reminder for all of us that no material object
in this world even our biggest dream
will give us the permanent satisfaction
that we hope to receive by possessing those things.
So I'm here at the Casino of Monte Carlo,
which is the landmark of the city-state of Monte Carlo.
But a very interesting fact is that the citizens of Monte Carlo,
which are called Monégasque,
they are banned from gambling
so they cannot enter the casino and they cannot
gamble money it's only for the foreigners to come here gamble and spend
money and lose money.
Another interesting fact
is that Monaco
is so small that
doesn't have an airport
so the closest airport is the one in Nice which is the
Nice Airport Côte d'Azur
and most people from Monaco just catch a helicopter
from here to the airport
which takes only seven minutes it's super fast and
it costs around 200 euros per ride
from here to the airport so that's how the
locals go to the airport obviously I'm exaggerating here
because not everybody
goes to the airport with a helicopter let's
not forget that the majority of
the residents of Monaco are regular people
with a regular job and a regular
life and not with billions
of dollars in the bank
account another uniqueness of
Monaco is the amount of cameras
that you can find here it really looks like you
are in China because there are thousands
and thousands of cameras and the reason
is that Monaco is one of the safest places
in the world they really value the
privacy and also the safety there
is zero percent poverty and also no crime
here so it's super safe
and it has to be like this because if you have the
richest people in the world living here
of course they want to have safety and
privacy and that's why you have cameras everywhere
and they have a system where
the police always can check the camera
and control the entire situation of
Monaco because it's not so big
so it's kind of easy to check everything so
there is literally no way to steal anything
or to do any crime because they
will catch you within the minutes
alright guys from the richest
place on earth I'm going
to end the video here
I'm pretty tired because I've been going around
for two full days here in Monaco
man forget about Dubai forget about
Singapore forget about Macau like there
is no place like Monaco really the amount
of wealth that you can see here
and that you can feel and experience is really
the number one in the world for me to be honest
this one is not really my ideal place i kind of feel awkward
and uncomfortable in this kind of
cities and situations even you can see how i'm
dressed i really look like a homeless with a
decathlon jacket decathlon shoes my jeans are kind
of dirty from the road trip from spain with
with the motorbike I'm walking around with the helmet
so I was feeling super
uncomfortable outside the casino where everybody
was like super well dressed
everybody looking at each other like
this and try to act like rich I mean
most people are rich
but also a lot of people come in there just to see the
luxury cars and the rich people but I
also like to experience this kind of
things I like to experience everything
from the slum of Mumbai or Nairobi in
came to the richest place on earth here
in monte carlo i like to see the full spectrum of our
society and of our world
and despite everything i must say that monaco is a really beautiful
place the architecture even just behind me this one
is the the back of the casino and it looks
so nice it's really you can really see some great architecture here
and the city is completely
developed over the ocean on the cliff on the ocean
so it's just a beautiful place let me
me know in the comments down below what do you think
and let me know if you've ever been here
i'm curious to read your opinions your comments
your feedback let me know what you think about
this place i'll send you a big hug
and i will see you in the next video bye
