On has quickly become one of the most popular brands on the planet,
making some of the most comfortable and technologically advanced sneakers that you can buy.
But what is the most comfortable pair that On sells?
Well, I bought all of them to find out.
Each pair has had thousands of steps in testing,
and not only will I give you an answer,
but also share with you three pairs that I think you should avoid at all costs.
Coming in at number 10, the Roger Wildcard.
So, of course, these are part of the signature collection from Roger Federer,
who is not only a collaborator with On, but a significant investor in the company.
Now, over the years, they have released plenty of different pro tennis shoes and lifestyle pairs,
but this is the first one that features the little On holes, which they call CloudTek.
And yeah, having those holes definitely makes a difference.
They feel really nice underfoot.
They're made for everyday wear, so you've got a somewhat flatter undersole,
which sometimes can be quite nice,
especially if you're doing a mixture of walking and just standing around.
I think the aesthetic makes them super easy to wear with a bunch of different outfits.
Like, it's just that clean, you know, tennis vibe.
They also feel pretty roomy.
Like, there's not a lot of strict padding in the upper,
which, you know, you get with some other running shoes.
So, I guess for casual everyday wear, it feels quite nice.
The upper is made from a mixture of different synthetics and not fabric,
so it's not going to be the most breathable shoe that you pick.
But nevertheless, a clean, everyday, comfortable pair.
In at number nine, we've got the Cloud Runner 3 Max.
And let me just start off by saying these look sick.
They're kind of a chunky, super wide-based pair of shoes.
And in this colorway, it kind of looks like it's been aged a little bit.
I just think they look so good.
The width of this midsole isn't just for aesthetics.
It's actually here to make this the most stability-focused sneaker in On's lineup.
So, when you're walking around, you really do feel that extra width
really just planting you to the ground.
And also, in the cushioning, you've got a dual density,
which I actually think feels really nice.
It's slightly softer on the top layer, which gives you that little bit of cushion,
and then underneath, obviously, gives you that stability layer.
Now, you do still have the holes, kind of.
It's not the traditional holes that you would find with an On shoe,
but, you know, they're there.
They're certainly not soft and squishy like you find from other sneakers on the market.
In fact, that's pretty much the thing with On is
their shoes are not overly soft and squishy.
They all tend to lean a little bit more towards the firmer side
and then kind of rely on the holes that they have in the midsole to create that plush feel.
Now, the upper has a really nice soft mesh, which is also nice and breathable.
And as you can see, that ankle area is nice and padded.
Same thing with the tongue.
Personally, I think these are one of the best looking On shoes.
Man, in the right colorway, like this one, they look so good.
But yeah, overall, amazing comfort pair of shoes.
If I had to say one con, it would be the weight.
They're a little bit hefty, but realistically,
if you're walking around wearing them as a casual everyday shoe,
you won't really notice.
They're not like, you know, bricks.
Coming in at number eight, the On Cloud Swift AMP.
So hands down, one of the more wild looking midsoles that you've seen on an On shoe.
And I love that they're leaning fully into that aesthetic.
This is also kind of a dual density setup where you have the cloud tech,
obviously the little holes in the midsole.
But just above that, you have a slightly softer material,
which again, just leads to that doubled sensation
of just a little bit more cushion at the top of the midsole.
These are a little bit more technical than some of the other On shoes.
The upper has a really nice breathable fabric mesh, which you can feel.
It almost feels like you remember the Yeezy days
when they did those like knits or Adidas with their prime knit.
The tongue situation is, it's a pro and a con at the same time.
It's designed a little bit like an inner sock, which is kind of nice.
It hugs your foot.
But when you slip your foot in, there is a tendency for it to slide down
and then the laces to just sit against the top of your foot,
which is a little bit annoying.
You have to readjust.
The ankle padding is quite nice and it's kind of hidden on the inside.
So it adds like this kind of invisible ankle area look,
makes him look just a little bit more sleek on foot.
But the cushion does feel really great and I love the rockered shape.
It just makes it so nice for that heel to toe transition
when you're walking around.
Overall comfort on these things, A+.
Taking the number seven spot, the On Cloud Surfer Max.
Look, these are a comfortable pair of shoes and I hate to do this,
but I'm going to start out with a negative.
I just feel it must be stated, but this is also a disappointing shoe.
I feel like given how incredibly comfortable the Cloud Surfer was,
the original, these having the Max name,
felt like they should have been a huge upgrade from those.
But alas, they are not.
Now, look, like I said, still a great pair of shoes.
You still get the same kind of orientation that you had
in the original Cloud Surfer in terms of the cloud tech holes,
which feels nice.
You've still got the really nice outsole,
I guess kind of shapes of the heel to toe feels great.
The upper is the same really nice, soft, breathable mesh.
The tongue, I feel like could have been a little bit more elasticated,
but it's still a nice fabric to have on the top of your foot.
The ankle padding, again, also really nice.
But the midsole is where I think a lot is left to be desired.
It's not as soft or I guess because they tried to make it Max,
they thickened it up, which just feels a lot firmer underfoot
than you would have liked it to be as a Max cushion shoe.
Nevertheless, decent option.
I think it looks really good and again, really comfortable.
Coming in at number six, the Cloud Boom Max.
Look, this is a very interesting pair of shoes and honestly not what I was expecting.
Now look, it's very expensive.
I will say that straight out the gate,
but thankfully you can find pairs on sale,
which does make them a lot more appealing.
So just based off of the look of these,
you can see it's clearly using a completely different foam
to what we're used to when it comes to the regular on shoe.
This almost has that kind of super foam type sound when you flick it.
It's got that airy feel to it.
These being super lightweight,
but when I stepped in, it feels a little bit firmer
than I would typically expect a super shoe like this to feel.
Now it definitely doesn't take away from the comfort
because the comfort is definitely still there with these
and I do like the weight.
It combined with this nice fabric upper,
the padding around the ankle area,
the thin tongue, which doesn't have much padding,
but the fact that it's thin,
it kind of feels like it molds to your foot combined with this upper.
Overall leads to a very nice experience walking around in these.
There's a nice amount of cushioning in the heel specifically,
which I think works very well as a pair of shoes just to walk around in,
but keep in mind these are plated,
so some people really don't like that for everyday wear,
so just keep that in mind.
But overall, if you can find these things for a discount on sale,
I think you're getting an incredibly comfortable pair of shoes
that's a good value.
At number five, we've got the OnCloud Vista 3.
These are trail shoes according to On.
I would probably characterize them as more of like a little,
slightly more durable everyday shoe.
They don't have the extreme technical durability
that your standard, you know, from other brands trail shoe would have,
but they do have lugs underneath,
so there's that.
Regardless, they will be slightly more durable than your average on shoe
just for the fact that you do have the lugs,
which will help the wear and tear of them.
On the top, you do have a slightly more durable knit material
as well as a small little panel around the toe box,
which is waterproof.
Visually, I think they look really good.
It's a nice cohesive package,
especially for someone who, you know, just they like the holes,
but they don't want to go all into the craziness
that some of the other shoes that On sells have.
The cushioning is nice,
even though it doesn't have the larger holes,
it's still pretty soft.
Again, you're not getting the super squishy stuff
that you do with other brands.
We've already established that On leans a little bit more firmer,
but in terms of On territory, it's soft.
The heel area is nice and padded,
and it's also shaped really nicely,
so it kind of locks your heel in,
which kind of stops any heel slippage walking around,
which I like.
Coming in at number four, it's these monstrosities,
the Cloud Monster 3.
Visually though, I mean, come on,
these things look pretty damn cool.
We've got the triple story midsole stacked.
We've got three different levels of these holes in here,
and not only do you have more holes,
but I also love the way that they feel on foot
because they've shaped the midsole after the holes,
so you almost get like a little bit of like a,
I'm not going to say full-on massage,
but you feel the gaps between the midsole,
and it's a nice sensation walking around.
But yes, the holes collapse really nicely as you're stepping.
Again, really just feels good.
These are max cushions,
so you do have like, you know,
a thick stack of this cushion to, you know,
allow for three holes.
That's what she said.
The ankle area, decently padded, nothing insane,
but the upper is quite nice.
You do have kind of the dual layer mesh,
so there's a nice soft fabric on the inside,
and then you also get a slightly more breathable version
on the top, I think in the right colorway.
Man, these things just look good.
Another big pro that adds a lot to the comfort
is this forward rolling sensation,
like as you're walking around,
the way that this midsole is shaped,
you do get a little bit of, you know,
a little bit of a forward roll, which is nice.
Again, if you're doing like a lot of walking,
you're gonna kind of want that little extra propulsion.
Overall, solid pair.
But before we hop into the top three,
I promised you guys to let you know the worst of the worst,
the ones I'm telling you just avoid.
So these are gonna be ones I would recommend
specifically avoiding for comfort.
First one, the Encloud 6.
Okay, where do I start?
Not only are they just visually sad,
but underfoot, they kind of feel like plastic.
There's very little cushioning combined with this thick
and kind of plastic-y feeling upper.
It not only just feels kind of like a cheap shoe,
but just really not comfortable.
There's such a severe lack of padding anywhere on here,
like this just feels slightly hard.
On the inside, it's kind of devoid of any padding as well.
It's just, it's a sad experience wearing these.
Next up is the Cloud Soma.
In my opinion, an absolute eyesore in the Encloud lineup.
These things do not look great.
The foam also feels really firm, just kind of like a brick.
I mean, without the holes allowing extra compression,
they just feel solid.
They don't even give you the luxury of an insole.
For a little just minuscule scrap of cushioning in here,
it just feels empty.
I don't mind the sock-like upper,
but it also doesn't feel particularly
like it's worth the price tag.
It feels a bit cheap.
It's just really not my favorite.
And last up is the technological masterpiece
that is the Cloud Boom Light Spray.
The cushioning on here feels incredibly soft
and also incredibly lightweight.
But the upper, this crazy light spray material
that is actually made with a robot.
If you've ever seen those videos,
it's like a robot that spins around spraying this stuff
and then it turns into an upper for a pair of shoes.
Yeah, it would not be my first choice
when it comes to comfort.
Now, if you're running, it's great
because it makes these things way lighter
than a lot of the competitors.
It also provides a really nice snug fit
that almost molds to your foot as a runner.
But for daily casual wear, avoid.
It is really just a pain in the ass to put on.
You've got to wiggle around.
It's so tight because there's no adjustment.
The material grips to your socks and it's just a pain.
But I do really like this cushioning
and I wish that they applied it to some kind of,
I don't know, maybe hybrid lifestyle type shoe
that would trickle down in On's lineup one day.
Fingers crossed because I think that would be phenomenal.
Or if maybe they found some application
in the lifestyle space for this light spray technology,
I think that would be pretty sick too.
Nevertheless, fascinating, really cool pair of shoes.
It's not the most comfortable.
But coming in at number three, the Cloudsurfer.
Now, On has actually made quite a few versions
of the Cloudsurfer, like I spoke about the Cloudsurfer Max,
but I'm talking about as my number three position,
the Cloudsurfer, the original one.
This is the version two,
which I think is relatively similar.
It's practically the same.
And they also have upcoming a Cloudsurfer 3.
In my opinion, comparing the two and the original,
I would take the original personally.
It's just a little bit softer underfoot,
but honestly, there is hardly anything in it.
If you find or like this one visually, go with this one.
But yes, overall, the Cloudsurfer, amazing pair of shoes.
There's just something about it.
As soon as you put your foot in and you take your first step,
this is what On Cloud should feel like.
This is what their whole lineup should be.
The way that they've engineered the perfect balance
of midsole softness and the little holes
and the way that they collapse just feels really nice.
Not only that, but the upper is designed so well
to just feel really soft and forgiving
against the top of your foot.
Look at that amount of padding.
It feels great.
The tongue, same thing.
Nice breathable mesh in the upper.
And the shape, don't get me started on the shape.
The shape of this midsole is pretty much perfect
for just walking around.
It feels so good.
Great pair of shoes.
Again, if you can find the original Cloudsurfer discounted,
I would definitely recommend going for that one.
Twos are good.
Threes, I haven't tried yet.
But from what I can hear, they're a little bit more bouncy,
maybe a little bit more firm.
So I'm not entirely sure how they're going to stack up
in terms of comfort.
If you want the safest option, just get the originals.
At number two, the Cloudmonster Hyper.
These were one of the biggest surprises.
I stepped my foot into these things and it blew me away.
I love the dual density midsole cushioning
that they've got in here.
In fact, it all just feels slightly softer.
I mean, this material at the top here
feels particularly soft, airy, and light.
Almost like the same stuff that we had in the Cloudbooms.
But then even down at the bottom,
the second layer feels a little bit softer.
Then you have the Cloudtech pods, obviously the holes.
Just overall, it feels incredible walking around.
You get the same kind of sensation walking around
as the Cloudmonster 3.
Really nice padding around the ankle area.
It's sturdy enough to give you good lockdown,
but padded enough for that extreme comfort.
Visually, I love the way that these things look.
I think they look so, you know, signature on look.
It's like, if you're going to go with a non-parachute,
why don't you go all the way?
It's also lighter weight.
With this foam, it makes it lighter than the Cloudmonster 3.
So you do get that, which, you know,
it's not essential for comfort, but it is a nice addition.
The upper material feels a little bit more durable.
And yes, these are more expensive,
but thankfully you can find these discounted
at quite a few different places.
And if you can find these on a discount,
I think that's a great buy.
Overall, great setup.
Something I've really enjoyed wearing,
walking around in, highly recommend.
But at number one, the On Cloud Tilt.
So this pair is actually so good
that On has made a bajillion different versions.
Now, the differences between version to version
aren't big enough to justify it having its own place,
but I do think there are versions
that are better than the others.
So let me tell you which one is the best.
You've got the OG Cloud Tilt.
You've got the Retro Runner one,
that's the latest, the Arc.
You've got the Remix.
And then you've got the Zendaya Moon Pair.
Immediately, I would say avoid the Zendaya pair.
They literally just jacked up the price
and really didn't do anything different with the shoe.
It's like, it's got Zendaya's name attached,
so they charge an extra 50 bucks or something ridiculous.
Unless for some reason you are like a diehard Zendaya fan
or you like the color, something like that.
Honestly, they're the bottom of the barrel for Cloud Tilt.
The new Arc is actually really nice as a Retro Runner,
incredibly comfortable.
It has the exact same Cloud Tilt midsole,
which is just on another level.
It's got everything that the Cloud Surfer has,
but just a little bit better.
Walking, standing all day, these are going to feel great.
The only thing I don't like about the Retro Runner
is it just feels a little bit inauthentic for On.
Like On was founded in 2010.
It's like all of these other sportswear brands
are digging back into their own archives
and retro-ing runners, right?
So for On to just make something up,
it feels a little bit fake.
But if you like the look, you like the look.
And honestly, it's not bad.
But then you have my personal favorites,
which is the Original and the Remix.
Now, the Original has the elasticated laces,
which feels great.
It's got that upper,
which is somewhat similar to the Cloud Surfer,
nice padded ankle area.
And again, if you like that slip-on type of thing,
where you can just slip your foot in,
you don't have to tie laces or anything like that,
recommend those.
But the Cloud Tilt Remix,
probably my personal favorite
just because of how good it looks.
There's so many different colorway combinations.
It's kind of just like a modern version of the Cloud Tilt.
Now, it doesn't have the elasticated laces.
Nevertheless, still extremely comfortable
and definitely takes number one spot.
But there you have it.
Those are the 10 most comfortable shoes
that you could buy from On.
Let me know what you think down in the comment section.
And like always,
I'm gonna leave another video
in the top left-hand corner.
