Ranking 2026 Asics Tennis Shoes From Worst To Best

Now, this shoe isn't in the video. It's just my emotional support Asics shoe. Hey, what's up? Zach here, and no, this Asics isn't in the video either. This is Alex Dimenor's old Solution Speed shoe before he switched brands. I just never got around to reviewing. I'll talk about this in the video later. Trust me, it ties in even with the new Solution Speeds. But in all seriousness, I do want to give you a rundown of what I think are the best Asics shoes right now, ranking all the available Asics. Shoes for tennis and pickleball right now. This video will be broken up into two tiers. You'll see why in a second. So if you feel like this video is like kind of going a little bit fast and I'm not talking about some shoes you might be aware of, there's a reason for that. We'll talk about it in a second. Let's get into the list. All right, so starting off with the first list coming in at number four, which would mean that this shoe is coming in last in terms of this list Coming in at number four is the Asics Gel Resolution 10. And by now, a lot of us have had a chance to sit with the Gel Resolution 10 a while. A lot of us in the community have played in that shoe. And although the bottom of that shoe is just the underfoot comfort, is just out of this world, the durability is really there, the shoe is just clunky. And for a Gel Resolution shoe, which should be a ultra-fast, durable, Crazy side to side shoe. That one more to me is like a teaching pro shoe, right? You're feeding balls, right? Like you're standing all day. Yeah, that shoe's probably the best shoe you've ever put on. It's just the clunkiness of it, the too much material. It just really kind of just hampers that shoe in all the wrong ways. Now, if you believe the rumors, which have come from me, so if you believe me or if I believe me, the next Gel Resolution that comes out, I think should address most of those issues. Here's hoping, because like I said in the beginning of the video, the Gel Resolution 9, I think, probably one of the best tennis shoes that's ever been produced, like ever in the history of tennis shoes, you know, relative to the era. And honestly, if you just go back to that one and just change the paint job up a little bit, probably be fine. So yeah, like I said, if you are a teaching pro that watches this channel and you are standing all day, honestly, it's... Probably a good pickup, because like I said, the underfoot comfort of them is just so great. It's just, as soon as you start to push side to side, you start slipping on that stuff, that's when that shoe kind of starts breaking down. All right, now coming in at number three, and honestly, between number three and number two is a little bit tough. It's just that number two shoe does better over a longer period of time. So coming in at number three is the Asics Gel Challenger 15. Now, the Gel Challenger to me is like what the, was what the Gel Resolution 10. It's great side-to-side speed, great containment, it's light, it's durable, and it's a lot cheaper than most other Asics shoes. I mean, it's more of a budget-type tennis shoe just in terms of the general shoe market out there. And so, to me, if you want the productivity out of the Gel Resolution 10 in terms of do you want that side-to-side speed, You want that side-to-side containment. You want a lot of the best of A6's, I should say. Ergonomics and biomechanics, that shoe is really good. The underfoot comfort, to me, is not as elite as the other shoes on this list, but the performance of them is so good. So if you put a, even just a low profile over-the-counter orthotic in the gel challengers, hey, to me, that is a flagship shoe, plays like a flagship shoe. Thank you. I once I put an aftermarket orthotic in there like once I put an over-the-counter in there honestly I couldn't tell the difference between that and any other flagship A6 even though it is a takedown model or supposed to be more of a budget A6 model. So that being said, coming in at number two is the Asics Solution Speed FF4. And, you know, those shoes, they almost kind of occupy the same space, the gel challenger and the solution speed. The solution speed is just a little bit more lively. It's got a little bit better underfoot comfort for also being lower to the ground. You know, it's just the containment is really good for a shoe that is so light. And over time, the materials just break in a little bit better. The durability is a little bit better for, you know, pound for pound in terms of weight of both shoes. I actually found the Solution Speed FF4 from the 3 was... One of the better upgrades in shoes. And honestly, I liked the 3s. I know a lot of people talked about Demonor not liking the 3s. The reason, I think I talked about this in a video before, is because when they lasted the 3s and when the shoe came out, for his particular foot, it was hard for Asics to kind of get his individual last to fit exactly how he liked it from the 2s. It really wasn't anything to do with the shoe. It was actually the fitting, the lasting of the shoe. I think that's interesting because, you know, most pros, most top pros are getting their shoes custom lasted in the shoe. If you look, and Asics has said this a million times, they do not make different shoes for their pros versus you and me. The only thing that's different is the lasting. Like, they'll actually make their pros a custom last, which means custom shape underneath. And I thought it was interesting that, you know, even a company as big as Asics and with the quality of Asics, that even them getting the individual lasting from one model to the next, it's really difficult because every foot is different. I thought that was just, I don't know, I thought that was interesting. And so that's why I brought this shoe out. And I did end up using Demonor's, you know, shoe. Thing is, he wears right around my size, except you could tell it was a little bit wider in the lateral foot, so it was actually more comfortable than a standard Solution Speed FF3. But it was really just the same shoe, so I was like, why even do a video on it? I don't know, you probably heard me talk about this in another video if you're watching this. But yeah, so I did get Demonor, this is why I got this at auction. But yeah, so this is a little FDZ Tangent. Yeah, if you're wondering, yes, you are playing in the exact same shoe. And so coming in at number one, honestly, this is kind of a war of attrition. You know, probably where I'm going with this is the Court FF3. And the Court FF3, to me, is very similar to the Solution Speed. It's just... More rugged, better side to side containment, right? The underfoot to me is a little bit better. The only thing I don't like about the FF3 for my foot is because I swoop in, is it runs a little bit long for me. So if you're someone who has a C-shaped foot, it's going to run a little bit long for you too. Now, if you don't mind that, you wear two pairs of socks, whatever, you're not going to care. And that's why me personally, I like the solution speed more than the Court FF3. It's just that I think in terms of quality of shoe, just For everybody, you know, like if I'm doing a video on it, the Court FF3 to me definitely has more tools to use, a little more rugged, same speed, comfort. And that brings me to the second tier of this list, which is more of like a subcategory. And that consists of the Gel Dedicate, the Gel Game, and the Solution Swift. Now, I have played in all of these shoes, and... My kind of verdict on all three of those is that they're more of just a subcategory of the Gel Challenger. And so if you're thinking of any one of those budget shoes. To me you're better off just getting the Gel Challenger. They all kind of have a similar material makeup. A lot more of like textile in the upper and a lot more wrap in the upper. Super... They... They all kind of occupy that same kind of material space. It's just that the Gel Challenger you'll get the flagship level performance and all the others you know and quality and all this other stuff. Where there's other ones, I feel like you're compromising a little bit. Now, if you like those, great. If you want to play them, fantastic. They're not bad shoes by any stretch of the imagination. They're all honestly better than some other flagship shoes out there. It's just that if you're thinking of any of those, to me, I looked at this list and I was like, well, if I'm going to talk about this one, I'd rather have the Gel Challenger. I'm going to talk about the Gel Game, the Gel Dedicate, the Solution Swift. I'm like, well, why? Why would you just get the Gel Challenger because like they're all kind of in that same category. So that's why I kind of created that list. So they're almost like they're kind of subcategorized under the Gel Challenger. Maybe that's just my bias because I like the Gel Challenger so much and I kind of could see all those other shoes within that one. So yeah, like I said, that's just me. We'll see. It seems like every year we get less and less new tennis shoes. You know, it just seems like what's happening. But hopefully this year we do get a whole, like, you know.
