Today, guys, we're going to be going through the FSL squares that we have,
how we load gear in and out, we set up gear, the ins and outs of how the operations behind
the scenes works for my company to get gear to events and back from events and make sure it
gets done with the right gear at the right time. Everything works. Let's jump on in. Let's go.
Now, I walked you through all the gear around the warehouse in the last big gear tour video,
and this was by request to go through the square system we have. And let me tell you,
it's not perfect, but it is a working progress and we're going to make some improvements down
the line. So maybe there might be a part two video, but this is the system, how it works.
We have all of these colored squares you see on the floor here, and those squares are emulated
on our whiteboard. So on our whiteboard here, this is how we assign our different squares for
our different events. Some squares might need multiple squares, et cetera. And this is kind
of the start to the system. Again, not perfect. We just implemented in the last year and we're
probably going to make some improvements this year to really flesh it out perfectly.
But we have all the different squares, different sizes. These are all five by five that are on the
floor. And these are the kind of the current events that are going on. This was a rental.
This was a corporate event. This was a rental. And these are just some random new speakers and
pallets and stuff that we have. We'll go through in a second. We tried to make some magnets that
we can kind of slap on there. These are all of our DJs up here. We have five DJs in total right now
going on six that could be assigned to any of these squares for that weekend. Also, we have
loadout sheets that we create. Now, we don't have any up here because we're filming on a Wednesday
right now, so all the events are over. All the gear is back here. We left it here just specifically
to show kind of some of the gear and where it is for this past weekend. But in general, what you'll
find is these clips right here, we will take and we will put the paperwork for each event that's
on up here, the loadout sheet, et cetera. We also have electronic copies of everything.
We're trying to do more electronic, but paper copies do work in the warehouse to keep things
organized as much as possible. But we do have digital copies that we have in drive folders
that we established for each event. Some additional things here on the whiteboard,
we actually have an equipment sign out sheet. So a lot of times we have little bits of gear,
especially with both lighting back there where they need to take some gear, film some videos,
also some of our DJs, we allow them to take a DJ board or a couple of pairs of speakers if they
want to go DJ a bar event on their own. We let them just kind of rent it for free because they're
our DJs. So they might check it out. So they can scan this QR to electronic system right here where
they can check out gear and it's posted all around the warehouse too to try to remind them.
We've been semi-effective with that. A lot of people like myself and Marcellus forget to use
this, but all of our lowering guys, they use it just because we're the owners. Also system we're
working on, but there's an equipment fix it slip here. So we're trying to get to the point where
people can grab a slip and put it on a piece of gear and tell us that this is broken. So that way
we can make sure things are fixed for the next weekend. But this is kind of the whiteboard,
it's on wheels that we establish all the things that are going on in the squares themselves.
These are our squares that we've established. We bought this vinyl tape. We'll link it down
below on Amazon because we didn't want to be like painting the concrete and be permanently
stuck with the squares that we had. But if you have a bigger warehouse, maybe consider painting
them. If you get the system down, right again, we're still working. We do want to make these
a little bit bigger. That's kind of one of the downsides right now is there. A lot of the squares
are not big enough for a lot of the weddings we're doing now. We have a lot more stuff going to those
weddings. And also we don't have enough leeway kind of around for the square. So we're thinking
about making them a little narrower and longer, but leaving more room on the side. So like this
red square might become like two feet in on each side. So it's wider and holds more stuff in the
square and go further back with our squares. So each of these are the squares that have different
gear that came from events. This was a speaker rental. This is what's left from a couple pieces
of rental gear that Mike's got to pick up and stuff we need to put back. This was a corporate
event. Most of the stuff from the corporate events already been put up, but we have like the disco
ball and a few other things that he put up. And then back here, and this is kind of where we're
finding the difference in events. We do a lot of corporate production and we do a lot of weddings
and smaller events. And this is where the mix of the size of squares we have is becoming
something we need to change. So you see this back square, which is huge. This white square literally
is probably about 20 feet long, 10 feet wide. And this is kind of where we put all of our
corporate events. And I'm going to be honest, sometimes it's not big enough. Sometimes we're
taking three things were events, but that's kind of where we're going to adjust some of the sizing
moving forward. But this is typically the corporate set square. I think it could be a
little bit smaller and then we can add some more room to some of these other colored squares.
But yeah, we also have some new speakers here. This is a little teaser for a future
upcoming video. These are the Exiton 15s. We might be bringing Speaker Wars back very shortly. So
stay tuned to the channel for Speaker Wars to see if we can blow up the Exitons and we can compare
them to a lot of different speakers we have in the warehouse. And we also got a lot of local
buddies that are excited to come hear these and they're going to bring their column arrays as well.
So it's going to be a huge lineup. I believe we're filming that next week. So stay tuned.
That's kind of the system, guys. It's not rocket science. It's kind of pretty
easy and intuitive. I could talk a little bit more about the process, but the way these squares work
on, say, if we have a bunch of weddings on Saturday and Friday coming up, typically on
Monday, if not the week before, all the loadout sheets are being created on the back end.
And then Tuesday, Wednesday, we start compiling all the gear into the square.
We start laying them out. This is this event, that event, that event. And also charging starts
about that same time frame. That's why we got these outlets in the ceiling. So these guys right
here, these are 50 foot extension cords, both of them on their own circuit. So we can pull those
down and we can start charging things. We also have a Jackery 5000 that's actually pretty nice.
And I'm going to have a video on Jackery as well. This right here is our Jackery 5000.
We bought this specifically to do battery backup for a lot of our corporate events.
But this thing is also came in useful here in the warehouse for us to charge a lot of our gear. As
you know, all of our lighting for our weddings is battery powered now. So there's a lot of
charging that happens when you have five, six, seven weddings going on on a weekend.
And this thing has four dedicated 20 amp outputs on it, which is nice. So we can roll that over
there and we can charge some lights on this. We can charge some lights from the two circuits above.
This helps a little bit with power management because as you can imagine, some weekends,
if we were to charge everything at once, it would be taking up about eight circuits of power.
Lots of things like that. So yeah, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, leading up to the events,
that's when we're compiling all the gear into the squares, charging everything,
making sure we're good to go. We got our checklist up on the board. Everything's assigned.
And also all the gears getting triple checked when it goes into the square that it has everything in
it. A great example of that is speakers, making sure that all the speakers have their power cables.
They're all supposed to have them before they go out to the event. We also have things like a
monogram projector here. And inside of it, there's a little laminated sheet that says what all should
be in here. We should have a flash drive, two remotes. We should have two media players,
the adapter to be able to put this onto a gravity stand, the power cable, just making sure,
triple checking that everything is in here when it goes into the square before it heads off to
the event. And then as you can imagine, and then as you can imagine the counter to that,
when this stuff comes back before it goes onto the shelf, it's getting checked again.
So we have multiple checks in the process of sending your out to events and the gear coming
back and being put back onto the shelf where it belongs. So our DJs and our people going to the
events, they're literally taking the gear from the square, going to the event, checking it out
of the square basically, and then bringing it back to the same square. And then everything is checked
to make sure it's there. The loadout sheet is being checked again to make sure everything's
there and also making sure that everything is in those specific cases. And of course,
also we're asking the DJs or the people that went to the event to make sure that everything
worked when they were there. You know, they weren't missing something or God forbid,
the media player broke or the projector broke or this speaker stand doesn't work. It's missing a
bolt. All that's kind of part of the process and is some of the minor things we're trying to make
better. And you know, this system is a fluid system. You know, a lot of this is changing.
We're not really fully set yet, but it's been a year and a half. And this is kind of where we
landed. Uh, we did actually at one point have stuff charging off like on the walls and then
it would come into the square, but we did find it is a little more efficient and just better for
gear, not randomly ending up at different places to have it charging in the said square for that
event. But that's pretty much the system guys.
