Hello guys I hope you're doing well today and welcome back to another beautiful tutorial
Today's tutorial should be a pattern drafting tutorial and in this tutorial we are going to
Draw a short pants pattern If this is your first time here in this channel
You are welcome This is Don Larry and here on this channel I post sewing tutorials
Drafting patterns and DIY So please subscribe guys and also remember
Activate the notification bell so that whenever a new video is uploaded
You will be notified So before we go into the tutorial you
will need the following measurements you will need the pant size
which is usually the size of the underpants or where you are putting your pants
You will need the size of your pattern you will need the size of the pants
The size of the pants' circumference you will need the size of the pants' dep
You will also need the size of the pants or the size of the shorts
Without further ado let's jump straight into this tutorial
First you will need your tools the jaw the circle the French circle
The tracing circle the marking pencil the paper pencil the paper pencil and the pattern paper and
I have also written the measure So the first thing you want to do is draw a vertical line
And that will be our guide So once you have done that you will also draw a top line
It will be the lateral line Then we will enter the size of the stroke circle
Then from the side line measure whatever the size of your stroke circle In this case
It is 16 inches long and I am measuring it twice Once you have measured it
Then draw a horizontal line and then you can label it as line M
The next thing you want to do is enter the size of the stroke circle You can see my tutorial
about how to take an accurate trace circle size if you haven't done so yet So 10 inches is
My line width circle size and I only marked that so adjust the horizontal line
Then label that line as the diameter So the next thing you want to do is wor
In the size of the stroke circle So you are going to add an inch to its stroke circle size
Depending on how much you want to cushion or comfort but an inch should be enough
So in this case my tracing circle size is 40 inches and after that
Go ahead and divide it by four So now I have 10 inches So on the drawing line
You will mark what you have So I am marking 10 inches and also on the depth line of the tracing circle
You will mark 10 inches or whatever you have Then you draw a vertical line
Just to connect this point Once you have done that what I am doing now is just to extend
e horizontal line So once you've done that the next thing we want to do is
Enter the size of the stroke circle and to do so you will have to divide the 10 inches tha
We had it before we will divide it by four So go ahead and do that whatever you have
That is what you are going to insert So in my case I have 2.5 inches and from the depth line of the circle
Also you will have to enter what you have So in this case I have marked 2.5 inches
I'm just drawing the horizontal line and I'm going to label it as the stroke line
Well now that we've done that we can proceed to create the extension of the stroke circle
The curve of the circular stroke So we will need the 10 inches we calculated earlier
That is our trace circle size plus one inch is allowed So you go ahead and divide what is between
You have four inches there So here I have 2.5 inches So now we are going to introduce
That's 2.5 inches from that point So I'm marking 2.5 inches now and then after that
You will draw your stroke circle from that same point diagonally as I have done there
Then for the front because we are working on the front pattern you will mark 1.5 inches
Once you have done that from the stroke line you are now going to draw a type of shape
Smooth and well-curved so I'm going to go ahead and use the French curve to smooth the line
And now that you have it you can go ahead and blend it smoothly with the vertical line
So the next thing we want to do is create the sketch circle and to create the sketch circle
You will need the size of your stroke circle now So the size of your stroke circle
You can have his permission from half an inch to an inch depending on what you want
So I go with half and an inch here So now I have 31.5 inches and that 31.5 inches
We will divide it by four So whatever you have keep dividing it by four So
In this case I have 7.87 inches So from the vertical line where you can see the way it is displayed
I set my measurement you'll mark it on the other side So here I am marking 7.87 and then
from that you will push a inch of stroke or whatever your personal stroke is From then on now
I am going to draw a curved line using the stroke circle to connect this point to create the stroke circle
So now that we've done that the next thing we want to do is put the point
and to put the point we will need a guide line So what you will do is pu
Measure the length of the vertical line and find the midpoint So whatever the midpoint is
It's that you will mark it on line M as I am doing here and you will also mark it
On the guideline So after marking that proceed and use your stroke circle to draw
A vertical line and that line will be the center line or the green line So only
I will do this as the green line and that will be our guide So once you have done that
You can locate the point or draw the dashed line So now let's locate the point and to locate
e point remember that we are going to add a ring to this line of stroke So for the first time we are going to
Reduce the stroke line size from the total stroke line size So I will use one and a half
Inches for the line size You can use two inches depending on how you want it
So first before creating the point we are going to remove the
flag and that's what I'm doing here So now that we have removed 1.5
Inches I am marking 3 inches for the intake of the front point and then I will insert one inch in
This intake is like what I've done here and then I'm just using my table to create that type
It's a good size for the line So now we have positioned the point ahead Then let's go now and
We form the stroke line So to form the stroke line you will need the stroke line This stroke line
It will only be the guide for you and the line of the mark is usually 3 to 4 inches below the depth line
depending on how big you are So here I am marking 3 inches You can mark 4 inches if
You have an extra size So that's what I'm doing there and once you've marked this line you can go
and label this so you don't get confused and after that you will have to adjust your brush size
In two So in this case my stroke size is 23 inches dividing it in two I have 11.5 inches
So I'm just marking 11.5 inches on this line So once you've done that
We also mark the same thing on the depth line or if you want a rhythm brush
You can simply remove a little inch and here I am removing 0.25 inch 0.25 inch
A quarter of an inch and now I'm going to move forward and create the shape for the trace
So that's what I'm doing here and then I'll use the curve to create that beautiful one
form Well now we have our trace the front pattern almost finished
So what we are going to do now is add the permission to join and for the final line
I will add two inches You can add more than that but do not add less than two inches
So that's what I'm doing here Then for the other part of the trace
We have permission to add 0.5 inch around it Remember that we still have the
1.5 inches for the line we will draw later so I have added the permission to connec
And this is what we have So now I'm going to proceed and cut this so this is what it looks like
Then we will go back and draw the back pattern so you can label it as the front pattern
Then we will now cut two pieces for the front pattern so I have labeled them in
another pattern piece and as you can see I have left some inches above and just for the other one
part of the paper so the first thing you will do to create the back pattern is first of all
Extend the crotch line so I've extended this a bit and we'll take any measurement we
want to take or introduce any measurement from the current measurement not from the
Measure so for the back pattern you will mark a crotch extension of two inches and from those two inches
Mark one inch down then place the diagonal measurement from that point
and measure two inches for the back line between the grain line and this one
vertical line you will find the midpoint which is two inches in my case
From that midpoint we had between one and a half inches to two inches depending o
How big you are so I have done it and I am going to move forward and create a kind of
It has a nice curve so take the back pattern piece and create a nice curve
Well so I did it so the next thing we want to do now is work on the crotch line
So you have to extend the back line to the other side as I did and measure wha
You have it on your back line and then you can see the way I am placing the cover measurement
That's how you place it and enter the exact measurement you have at the border
So that's what I've done and then I straightened the line so now that we've done it
So we will also form the pattern from the back and to do that from the other side
From the back line we just move forward and create that kind of curved shape using
You roll it over your back then you smooth it down to the crotch line then you also reach this other side
You can see the way I am placing the lid measurement and then create another curved line
Through the crotch line and then on the crotch line the marks are the same because we have the same
longitude so now you can remove the front pattern and clean all the lines then
Label them as the back pattern and then for the back pattern we are also going to cut two now
pieces so to finish the back we will have to put the pattern so whatever you have
At the border that's what you'll also have on your back so at the border I have four
Inches from that crotch extension line and then I will also mark four inches on the back pattern
So from those four inches I just marked I'll mark four inches for the length and the
Any line you want to draw should be parallel to the crotch extension line
Don't just draw it straight so I did it and then we'll introduce it
The crotch extension for the back I will use one inch depending on the personal crotch extension
Calculate that and then enter what you have so I'm creating a bone shape for the crotch
And now we have the back of that so to finish the back of the back just go ahead and
Clean your half inch of the crotch extension line so now this is what we have we both have
Behind and the back pattern is ready so now we can move forward and create the bone for the back and the
Behind and also the bag for the back so now we are going to start with the back and to do
So you'll have to fill in the back exit because our bone isn't going to have any exit
So fill the back outlet and then what you have without the bone socket
You can see the way I mark it then you will draw that out you need to have something
Slightly crossed and then I will use the back to clean the lines
So now that you've done it just extend the line and we'll be introducing
One and a half inches that we took before we need to enter that and whatever you have in that
A slightly crossed line that is what you will also mark on the top line then also measure one and a half inches
There then use your accommodation to connect it so you will have something slightly crossed as well
On the side and also on the top line okay so this is what we have for the back and for the back
We will be cutting it to a folio at that point so you need to mark that spot
and indicate that you are cutting it in a sheet because you are not going to be adding
No accommodation for him so let's go now and add the accommodation for the other party
For the top bottom and output sections so for that part you are cutting it into sheets
So we'll be doing almost the same for the back so you keep going
Flipping the back of that accommodation tracing it cleaning the line marking one and a half inches exactly
Do the same thing we did for the front that's what you'll do for the back and that's what I'm doing
Cutting two pieces for the front and two pieces for the back here so we'll be cutting now
The main production and the housing so that's what we're cutting now two pieces and remember tha
You will be cutting a section from a sheet so now we are going to create a housing for the
Front so to do that to make it very easy just measure from the bust line to the waist line or
Depending on how long you want the accommodation to be so I provide it to below my depth
The waistline to the waistline so I will use the method of drawing to draw
Now so I'm drawing the pants line to the back then the pants line
Toward the green line then beyond the green line you will trace it up and also the line of the pants
So that's what you'll draw and once you've drawn it go ahead and use your pencil
To draw it so that's what we have there so the next thing you want to do is create a kind of
a curved shape like the one I'm making here for one side of the housing so make sure your hand
You can grab your hand inside it so that's what I'm doing there then I'll go ahead and add
alf of a housing clip around this housing so I added half of a housing clip and we're going to
Cut two pieces for the key and two pieces for the housing there is a small adjustment
You will have to do when you want to knit your shorts in the accommodation let me know in the
Comment section if you would like to see a knitting tutorial I don't want to get involved with this
ousing front pattern but what you are going to do is create a kind of curved shape
In the pattern of the front you will trace it cut it and do the same on both sides
We're going to cut the pieces for the accommodation so that's the small adjustment
It's not difficult but let me know in the comments section if you'd like to see a knitting tutorial
So this is what we came up with looking nice already thanks for watching this tutorial guys
