Heavy Rain Tarp Shelter | Solo Overnight in the Forest

The rain had been falling since early morning, and it looked like it wasn’t going to let up anytime soon. Despite that, I headed into the forest with one simple plan — to find a good spot, set up my tarp, and spend the night in the wet woodland.
After a longer hike, I found a suitable place to make camp. I pitched the tarp in a simple A-frame configuration with the back closed to give me better protection from the rain and wind.
I prepared some firewood, made coffee, and started cooking dinner. This time, I made pork stew on an alcohol stove, as the constant rain made everything more difficult.
I also managed to get a fire going, but the damp conditions quickly took their toll. After a short while, the fire went out, and I decided not to fight the weather any longer.
I spent the evening quietly under the tarp, listening to the rain hitting the shelter. It continued for almost the entire night.
By morning, things were no better. Everything was wet. At around 5 a.m., I put on my damp socks and boots, made one last coffee, packed up camp, and started the journey home.
Not every trip ends with perfect weather and a warm fire. Sometimes you simply have to accept the conditions and stay out there despite everything.
