A Man is Building his Dream House in a Tree, high in the mountains | Start to Finish

I built my dream survival house in the deep forest from scratch — a gothic arch treehouse raised on living trees, lit by kerosene lamps at dusk.
The shape came first — a pointed gothic arch frame built around two standing trees, the trunks becoming the structural posts of the whole build. Timber boards cut and curved to follow the arch, layered up the sides until the form held itself. A wooden staircase with natural round-log handrails leads up to the entrance, kerosene lamps hanging at every level along the way. A smaller matching side module sits on the adjacent tree — the two structures connected, the trees holding both.
At dusk the lamps come on and the whole thing glows orange against the green canopy. It looks like something out of a story. It took everything I had to build it — and it was exactly worth it.
